At the SCO Defence Ministers' meeting, India refused to sign a joint statement that would have diluted its stance on terrorism. The Defence Minister mentioned the Pahalgam terror attack, stating that 26 innocent lives were claimed by terrorists. He emphasized that no dialogue is possible with nations that nurture terrorism. India's focus at the SCO summit remains its zero-tolerance policy towards terrorism and cross-border terror activities.

00:00Defence Minister Rajnath Singh foiling Pakistan-China terror whitewash.
00:05India foils Pakistan bid to divert lens from terror.
00:09Pakistan-China tango to divert attention from terror.
00:13So, says the defence minister stands firm against Pakistan terror.
00:17Rajnath Singh's no to a biased joint statement at the SCO.
00:22The Raksha Mantri firmly stood ground on India's stand on terrorism and pehal gham.
00:28It resulted into no joint statement or protocol that could be issued.
00:33Pakistan and China were trying to divert the attention from terrorism.
00:37But the Raksha Mantri refused to sign the document which would have diluted India's stand.
00:43No pleasantries were exchanged with the Pakistani defence minister at the SCO at the meeting as well.
00:49So, Rajnath Singh there refusing to sign the joint statement.
00:52There was eventually no statement and no pleasantries were exchanged with his Pakistan counterpart is what we are learning.
01:01India is sending out a strong message at the important forum of the SCO.
01:06Not signing the document and also not exchanging pleasantries with his Pakistani counterpart.
01:15Rajnath Singh refusing to sign the joint document is what we are learning.
01:20To send out a message given that Pakistan and China went soft on the terror thread.
01:25A defence minister took a firm stand at the SCO meeting,
01:28refusing to sign a joint statement due to disagreements on the language of it and on terrorism.
01:35He condemned the use of terrorism as a state policy, obviously targeting Pakistan.
01:42And he highlighted the pehal gham attack and called for collective action against terrorism.
01:47He refused to sign a joint statement that would have diluted India's position on critical issues,
01:54particularly concerning terrorism and regional security.
01:59The move, of course, underscores India's commitment to its strategic autonomy
02:03and its uncompromising stance against terror.
02:07For now, they are getting in more details on that.
02:10This is our uncompromising stance against cross-border terror
02:14that Raksha Mantri is spelt out very clearly using terror as a state policy.
02:19What about the language of the joint statement?
02:21What exactly was the post?
02:23Take us to the fine print here.
02:25Frane.
02:26Sneha, at a time when the Operation Sindhuur is still on,
02:29Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh,
02:32who is visiting Qingdao for the SCO Defence Minister's meeting,
02:35he put forth India's commitment and as far as India's stance,
02:40in very clear terms, that there are talks and terror.
02:44The issue of terrorism is an issue of non-compromise for India
02:50and that's why India pursues the policy of zero tolerance against terrorism.
02:55The Chinese and Pakistanis and some other partners were trying to bring a joint statement,
03:00diluting the word terrorism and emphasis on the word terrorism.
03:03And therefore, Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh refused to sign on the joint document,
03:08the joint statement.
03:09And he made it clear during his speech as well,
03:12during the SCO Defence Minister's meeting,
03:15that the perpetrators of terrorism, those who finance that,
03:18those who harbour and those who have been pursuing the policy,
03:21the terrorism as a state policy, need to be called out.
03:24They need to be isolated.
03:26And even for the success of SCO as a regional organisation,
03:29it is important that the issue of terrorism need to be addressed
03:33because it creates the trust deficit.
03:35It reduces the possibility of member states cooperating among each other.
03:39So, clearly, from the Chinese soil,
03:42Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh has not only exposed Pakistan,
03:45but had also given a clear message to China as well,
03:48though he's likely to meet the Chinese Defence Minister later in the day today.
03:53All right, Pranayapad, they're getting in those details.
03:55An important point that has been made by India,
03:58refusing to sign the joint statement that would have diluted India's position
04:03on critical issues, and this includes cross-border terrorism.
04:07Pranayapad, thanking you for the moment.
04:09Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh slamming Pakistan terror at the SCO summit in China.
04:14Now, in his opening remarks at the summit,
04:16he gave a strong message to Pakistan,
04:19highlighting India's no tolerance against cross-border terrorism,
04:23invoking the dastardly Pahlgahm attack that killed 26 innocent tourists in Kashmir.
04:28Earlier this year, Rajnath Singh asserted that it's the time now to unite
04:31and bring those who fund and sponsor terror to task.
04:34He also urged the SCO members to condemn cross-border terrorism.
04:39On 22nd April 2025, the terror group, the resistance front,
04:49carried out a dastardly and a heinous attack on the innocent tourists in Pahlgahm,
04:57in the Indian state of the Jumbo and Kashmir.
05:0026 innocent civilians, including a Nepali national, were killed.
05:07Victims were shot right after they were profiled based on the religious identity.
05:16The resistance front, which is a proxy of UN-designated terror group,
05:21Laskare Toiba, claimed responsibility for the attack.
05:24The pattern of the Pahlgahm terror attack matches with ELIT's previous terror attacks in India.
05:33In exercising its right to defend against terrorism
05:37and pre-imp as well as deter further cross-border terrorist attacks,
05:42India on 7th May 2025 successfully launched Operation Sindhu
05:48to dismantle cross-border terrorist infrastructure.
05:54We reiterate the need to hold the perpetrators, organizers, financiers,
06:01and sponsors of reprehensible acts of terrorism,
06:07including cross-border terrorism, accountable and bring them to justice.
06:13Any acts of terrorism are criminal and unjustifiable,
06:18regardless of their motivation, whenever, wherever,
06:23and by whom so ever committed.
06:27Yeshua members must condemn this evil unequivocally.
06:32One of the major concerns is certainly anti-terrorism from the Indian side.
06:38So certainly the Shanghai Cooperation Organization is a platform when it comes to anti-terrorism.
06:45I spoke with a lot of guests and experts,
06:49including the Secretary of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization,
06:53Secretary General Yermit Baghev,
06:55and he also mentioned about anti-terrorism.
06:58But certainly there are also many other agendas on the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
07:03Certainly this is the organization that got started with the security cooperation.
07:09But certainly there are a different multiple range of fields of cooperation among different countries.
07:15So I think this is also a very rare opportunity for the Indian defense minister,
07:21seen to come over to Beijing.
07:23And Beijing is really looking forward to host this platform
07:29and create more opportunity from the Indian side.
