00:00Graceland honors Elvis' actor with jaw-dropping anniversary surprise.

00:04It's been three years since the Elvis biopic hit theaters,

00:07and its star is getting his spot alongside other Presley icons at Graceland.

00:12To mark the third anniversary of the Elvis film,

00:15Graceland is honoring its star with a jaw-dropping tribute.

00:18A new exhibit spotlights the actor in one of the movie's most iconic moments,

00:23now proudly displayed alongside the King's legendary artifacts inside Elvis Presley's Memphis.

00:28Austin Butler, who brought Elvis Presley to life in Baz Luhrmann's biopic,

00:33delivered a powerhouse performance,

00:35tracing the King's rise to fame in his heartbreaking final days, now.

00:40The first scene Butler filmed is honored at Graceland as the film's legacy is celebrated.

00:45Butler was thrown into the deep end his very first day on set,

00:48slipping into a replica of the King's iconic black leather suit,

00:52originally designed by Bill Ballou.

00:54The scene recreated Presley's 68-comeback special,

00:58where the King had to prove to the world he was still relevant

01:00after a seven-year hiatus from live performances.

01:03The actor's black leather suit, including boots,

01:06now has a place of honor alongside other artifacts

01:09in Elvis Presley's Memphis Entertainment Complex.

01:12Graceland's official Instagram page shared video from the unveiling

01:15and clips of the actor and character.

01:31Butler shared his thoughts about recreating the 68-comeback special in a 2023

01:36interview for the Oscars website.

01:38He admitted,

01:39It was throwing me in the deep end.

01:42Trial by fire.

01:44It was an out-of-body experience that was beyond anything I could have imagined it would have been,

01:48and I just allowed myself to surrender to that.

01:51It was one of the most surreal and beautiful experiences I've ever had as an actor.

01:55Presley and Butler were ironically both fearful that they would be accepted.

01:59That is exactly the feeling that Elvis was having before walking out on that stage.

02:02His career was on the line.

02:05It's having to prove himself, and if it doesn't go well, he'll be laughed off the set.

02:09He added,

02:10I can feel all this fear, and it doesn't mean it's wrong.

02:14It means that I can go out there and channel this.

02:17And at that point, it didn't feel like there was this separation.

02:44It's entertainment complex, and planes are open for tours 363 days a year.

02:50It is closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas.
