AN ECCENTRIC car creator has built his very own Rolls Royce dragster. In this week's episode of R.Rides we meet Perti Plosila and Tony Johansen, the creator and owner of an insane drag car. Pretri built the car by starting with the body of a beautiful 1974 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow and gave it a modern steel chassis. He then added a beastly V8, a 200hp nitrous booster and of course a set of huge drag racing tyres. Not wanting to compromise on style, Petri also fitted custom leather seats in the front and back of the car, along with champagne and flute receptacles. We catch up with the car’s current owner Tony, as he takes Petri for a spin.

00:00It's the most amazing car I have ever seen. The car is very noisy and it's really big
00:08engine. It's like hell. The Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow. Elegant. Sophisticated. Beautiful.
00:24But this is a Rolls like no other. This is my ultimate Rolls-Royce dragster. Yes you
00:33heard right. And you've never seen a Rolls, or a dragster for that matter, quite like this.
00:40Rolls-Royce are normally a little bit boring cars. This is a little bit...
00:48My Rolls-Royce entry was fast, beautiful and fun. When I saw this Rolls-Royce, it just
01:00took me in my heart and it's the most amazing car I have ever seen.
01:05And this machine also has a special place in Petrie's heart. This is my favourite build.
01:11And that's a mighty big statement from a man whose previous creations include a supercharged
01:18quad bike, a 200kmh modified moped and let's not forget the combine harvester dragster.
01:25It takes one and a half a year to build this Rolls-Royce.
01:33With help from his friend Rain, Petrie started with a steel frame chassis, lined the interior
01:40with carbon and leather and called on a local furniture company to help with the finish.
01:45We don't know what's happening in here.
01:50You see it looks quite much like an ordinary Shadow Pro 74. But you see the engine and you
01:56see the exercise. Also when you come on the side of the car, you will see the drag wheels
02:03in the back. And you will see the car is much lower than an original one. You need to have
02:08that on the racetrack to cut all the power. And in the back of the car, see how wide the
02:15wheels are.
02:17And at the heart of this beast, if a supercharged Oldsmobile V8 isn't power enough, there's always
02:23the option of nitro in the back for that extra kick.
02:26Absolutely we don't need it, but we can do it.
02:31In here you have all things you need. Leather, interior, everything for a nice ride. And also,
02:36for fun rides, champagne, crystal glasses. And this is very luxury when you go to the drag
02:43street.
02:44The car is very noisy and it's a really big engine. It's like hell. We're going to start
02:50her off. First we're going to remove the steering wheel. More easy when somebody takes the wheel.
02:59the car is very tight. Isn't that just normal? We need more power.
03:14You hear it? I think it's very loud and fun.
03:21While Tony has no plans to part with this super silver shadow, if your pockets are deep enough,
03:28he may just be persuaded. This is a keeper, but if somebody gives you enough money, of course
03:35it is for sale.
03:37of course it is for sale.

04:07I don't like my mother to be able to buy the team.
04:11It is for sale.

04:19This is a keeper, but it's the pair of pieces.
