Deborra-Lee Furness breaks silence over split with ex-husband Hugh Jackman | 9 News Australia

00:00Debra Lee Finesse has taken a swipe at her ex-husband Hugh Jackman

00:04after confirming she's filing for divorce,

00:07speaking for the first time about what she's described as a journey of betrayal.

00:12Let's bring in Nine's US correspondent Reid Butler in Hollywood.

00:16Reid, what's she had to say?

00:20There's nothing nice about this situation, Jane,

00:23and it's clear a sign yet I would say that things probably didn't end all too amicably

00:27between the one-time golden couple, of course, Debra Lee Finesse and Hugh Jackman.

00:31They announced their split in 2023 and now just days after filing for divorce,

00:37Finesse has issued this pretty powerful statement to the Daily Mail.

00:40She has written,

00:41My heart and compassion goes out to everyone who has traversed the traumatic journey of betrayal.

00:47It can hurt, but in the long run, returning to yourself

00:50and living within your own integrity, values and boundaries is liberation and freedom.

00:56Now, after that statement hit the press, we've seen on Hugh Jackman's Instagram,

01:01he's posted a video of himself skipping to the song Bye Bye Bye by NSYNC with the caption,

01:07Finally.

01:08Whether that is a coincidence or a pointed message, we do not know.

01:11What we do know, though, is that Jackman is now in a relationship with his long-time friend

01:16and Broadway co-star Sutton Foster.

01:18Her marriage ended late last year.

01:20Of course, Jackman and Finesse were together for three decades.

01:23Also, in Deborah Lee's statement, she said that she learned a lot over the course of that relationship

01:27and she remains grateful.
