00:00There are strong and damaging winds across Sydney today and that's causing a little bit of havoc here at Sydney's airport.
00:08Over in Wollongong we've also seen winds of up to 115 kilometres an hour and here in Sydney tree branches have fallen and damaged some cars and houses.
00:18Now air services have shut down two out of three runways at Sydney Airport which is causing delays meaning only one runway is operational.
00:27We've also seen aerial vision of these planes landing and they're sort of swaying back and forth as pilots are trying to navigate these winds and make a safe landing.
00:36We chatted to some customers who have just landed here at Sydney's domestic airport and they talked about how they're experiencing some turbulence and some people also said they had delays as their planes had to circle around before they could make a safe landing.
00:49It was shaking a lot so it was pretty scary. It was the first time we've been on a plane in a while too so yeah she was the one.

00:57Yeah she had a little bit of a cry.
00:59Like everyone kind of went silent on the planes it's like one of those things where you're like oh is this normal you know.
01:04But no it was good landing in the end but yeah you could definitely feel it like it was pretty hectic yeah.
01:08We were about half an hour landing we had to go out and hover around because there was only one runway open I think.
01:14What we know is that all airlines have been impacted by these strong winds and those who are traveling in and out of Sydney's domestic and international airport are being told to keep an eye out on their flights in terms of any changes to their timings potential cancellations.
01:30Virgin Australia said they did notify their customers yesterday as these winds were forecasted and other airlines have consolidated some flights.
