00:08When we sat down to conceptualize what Career Mode and Project Motor Racing would look like,

00:12our intention was to get players to think like professional racers and work backwards from there.

00:17In other words, how do you turn hot-lap heroes into seasoned drivers feeling the pressure of real pros

00:22who don't approach each weekend ready to rewrite multiple chapters of the record books?

00:26Central to that, and to Career Mode, is an authentic motorsports economy.

00:31Your goal here isn't to win every single event and there aren't any prize cards to unlock.

00:35It's you against your wallet because, well, that's racing, isn't it?

00:39Motorsport isn't particularly equal or fair.

00:42You'll start by selecting one of three financial backstories.

00:45Whether you want to replicate a rags-to-riches story, jump into the middle of the ladder right away,

00:49or take a shot at the very top echelons of motorsport is up to you and your ambitions.

00:56You'll then be asked to find a location for your team shop.

00:59Whether your team is based in North America, Europe, or Asia,

01:02that'll influence the prices of cars and event entry fees.

01:05And just like real racing, everything's available from the start.

01:08Whether you can afford it or not, though, will be based on your team's finances.

01:12You can make your life a little easier by selecting from one of eight sponsorship models,

01:17our way of simulating the negotiations that go on every off-season between teams and the brands who support them.

01:22Each sponsorship model offers a different type of financial support.

01:26Some will merely give you a flat fee for showing up, others will pay your travel costs or repairs,

01:31and some will demand very specific results.

01:33It's on you whether you play it safe or risk it all and make a push for the championship.

01:38You'll begin career mode in the off-season, where you can enter any championship or one-off endurance race if you can afford it.

01:44What happens out on the track after that is on you.

01:47Wins, podiums, and sponsorships can keep your finances in the black.

01:51The travel costs and damage repairs will constantly eat into your wallet,

01:54sometimes a little more than you anticipated.

01:56And just like real racing, you might be surprised if the paycheck becomes season's end.

02:01It's not the 80s anymore, and that one dive for glory into turn one can wipe out your entire career in one split second.
