00:09When we sat down to conceptualize what Career Mode and Project Motor Racing would look like,

00:13our intention was to get players to think like professional racers and work backwards from there.

00:18In other words, how do you turn hot-lap heroes into seasoned drivers feeling the pressure of real pros

00:23who don't approach each weekend ready to rewrite multiple chapters of the record books?

00:27Central to that, and to Career Mode, is an authentic motorsports economy.

00:32Your goal here isn't to win every single event and there aren't any prize cards to unlock.

00:36It's you against your wallet because, well, that's racing, isn't it?

00:40Motorsport isn't particularly equal or fair.

00:43You'll start by selecting one of three financial backstories.

00:46Whether you want to replicate a rags-to-riches story, jump into the middle of the ladder right away,

00:50or take a shot at the very top echelons of motorsport is up to you and your ambitions.

00:57You'll then be asked to find a location for your team shop.

01:00Whether your team is based in North America, Europe, or Asia,

01:03that'll influence the prices of cars and event entry fees.

01:06And just like real racing, everything's available from the start.

01:09Whether you can afford it or not, though, will be based on your team's finances.

01:13You can make your life a little easier by selecting from one of eight sponsorship models,

01:18our way of simulating the negotiations that go on every off-season between teams and the brands who support them.

01:23Each sponsorship model offers a different type of financial support.

01:27Some will merely give you a flat fee for showing up,

01:29others will pay your travel costs or repairs, and some will demand very specific results.

01:34It's on you whether you play it safe or risk it all and make a push for the championship.

01:39You'll begin career mode in the off-season, where you can enter any championship or one-off endurance race if you can afford it.

01:45What happens out on the track after that is on you.

01:48Wins, podiums, and sponsorships can keep your finances in the black.

01:51The travel costs and damage repairs will constantly eat into your wallet,

01:55sometimes a little more than you anticipated.

01:57And just like real racing, you might be surprised at the paycheck to come season's end.

02:02It's not the 80s anymore, and that one dive for glory into turn one could wipe out your entire career in one split second.
