00:30This is Birmingham. This is the cradle of heavy metal. You're going to know where you're at if they're throwing piss at you in a bottle.
00:49Then you know it's not happening. It was awesome and that was basically the idea.
00:55We wanted to do a surprise. Rob Halford is from Birmingham, so we figured this is going to be a proper surprise.
01:03This is a last show on this European tour and I think this is the best way to finish it.
01:08Nobody knew. Even our booking agent or management, nobody knew that we asked Rob if we would come down.
01:16And again, he's in Birmingham, this is his hometown, so nobody knew. It was a complete surprise.
01:22The song that we did together went number one in the States, so it's a crown jewel in the whole thing.
01:29We knew that Rob was a fan of the band because he did an interview on television and we heard him saying that one of his favorite bands from the new crop is 5 Finger Dead Punch.
01:56So, as we were recording this last album, there was a tune that he ended up singing on.
02:04But we were talking about it in the studio and said, hey, this kind of had a little bit of that old school metal, you know, 80's vibe a little bit.
02:12A little bit Aussie, a little bit Judas Priest maybe. And we just had this wild idea like, hey, do you think, you know, if we would reach out, would he sing on this?
02:19And then it's a long, long shot. Like, it's, you know, it's his metal god, you know, I'm pretty sure he's busy striking down the non-believers in somewhere, you know what I mean, throwing lightning and, you know, whatever metal gods do.
02:31And our manager, you know, reached out and he actually listened to the song and he was like, oh my god, I love this song, I want to be involved.
02:39And he flew into Las Vegas where we were recording. So, actually, he recorded this song right front of us.
02:43So, we were in the studio and he's singing in a booth. So, I'm like, if I get striking down by lightning right now, I'm good.
02:49I did something good. I did something good in life, you know. And it was pretty amazing. He was hanging out with us for a couple of days, you know.
02:58It was the tour stories and whatnot he has. I mean, imagine, he's been doing it since the 70's, so.
03:04We are here like the third time this year, you know, and we keep coming back and pretty much 2014, we're gonna probably do about two, three tours here.
03:31It's in the works, so it is going to happen. You can pretty much say it's a fact unless, you know, there is some situation going on in Kyiv.
03:38So, unless we never make it out of there, you know, there's gonna be a Europe tour in March.
