00:00There are less than a hundred thousand humpback whales in this ocean and the

00:03chance of an albino being born is one in 50,000. I'm an underwater photographer

00:11and it is one of the most unique things I've ever experienced. When we got in the

00:15water the baby was resting under the mother whale. The mother acts as an

00:19anchor so the baby can practice staying down and holding her breath. The mother

00:23will hold her breath for 20 minutes but the baby can only hold her breath for

00:27three minutes. So when she comes up to take a few breath she's very playful.

00:32This baby in particular was coming very close and was very inquisitive and playful

00:37around the swimmers. Then she would go back down, rest underneath her mother

00:48and come back up after another three minutes.

00:57I was really surprised when the mother came up she was cruising very slow and very

01:04calmly around us. It was almost like she was nudging the baby to come closer to us.

01:09Around a third of all baby whales get killed by orcas and a white whale will attract a lot

01:16of attention and it will be a target of many predators. So seeing that the mother was calm around us

01:23is really really special. So seeing this in person is a once in a lifetime opportunity.
