00:00Yeah, I probably think there is still a divide, certainly financially.
00:04I'm a civil servant, so I know that colleagues in London get paid an awful lot more than what I do.
00:10And that's purely because the cost of living is so far more expensive in the south.
00:14When we think about the last government, the last Tory government, talking about levelling up,
00:18yeah, I still think there's quite a lot of levelling up to do, to be quite honest with you.
00:22I do think there's still quite a big divide between the south and the north in terms of investment,
00:27particularly in industry. HS2, that's been a bit of a farce.
00:35But yeah, I do think there is a levelling up agenda still, to be quite honest with you.
00:42Yeah, definitely, without a doubt.
00:43The people in London, they're always angry. They don't have time for anything.
00:47The tube is just a hot zone, especially in the summer.
00:50But in Leeds, everyone is so nice, it's so welcoming.
00:54I'm pretty sure there's even more job opportunities up north.
00:57I mean, people here are more laid back than way, where people in London, they're always up to something.
01:03They really like very timid, but like time and everything.
01:07So I'm guessing people up north, job opportunities, houses are so much cheaper.
01:11I would say yes, there's sort of a divide, because even the road says north and then says south.
01:17So there's obviously a geographical divide, based on where the north starts.
01:22I think most people say it starts from Birmingham.
01:25That's what I heard when I flew into the country.
01:27That's what I heard when I moved to Leeds about last year.
01:31So that's my general sense of the north.
01:34But in terms of how the people are, how they behave, I think it's a bunch of mix.
01:40In general, I would say people seem to be a lot freer in Leeds, if that's a way of explaining it.
01:48Or maybe the north, based on comparing it down south, somewhere closer to London,
01:53because it's more busy, they're more hustly, bustly, more minding to themselves.
01:57Well, Leeds felt a little bit more open to me.
01:59I don't really know too much about the north-south divide,
02:02but I know that it is quite expensive with the train tickets,
02:07and I feel like they tend to sort of keep the north-south very divided.
02:14And I think it's more to do with jobs, because they don't want people getting down south wages
02:20and then living up here.
02:23So I think there's that.
02:24The same that the belt of Manchester Leeds is getting a lot more investment,
02:29there was like a time where it was the best, and then it became not the best,
02:32and now it's coming back up, right?
02:34So that's what I've heard, that's what I seem to notice around when I walk around.
02:38Where does the north finish and where does the south start?
02:41Well, they always used to say, there is life beyond Watford.
02:45So I'm guessing, I don't know, I mean, because you've got the Midlands in the middle,
02:51so it's difficult to say where the north finishes and where the south starts,
02:54I think, because you've got, like, the Midlands and what was the old black country in between,
02:58so that's difficult to say.
02:59So I think there's a lot of things that I'm guessing there's a lot of things that I'm guessing there's a lot of things that I'm guessing there's a lot of things that I'm guessing there's a lot of things that I'm guessing there's a lot of things that I'm guessing there's a lot of things that I'm guessing there's a lot of things that I'm guessing there's a lot of things that I'm guessing there's a lot of things that I'm guessing there's a lot of things that I'm guessing there's a lot of things that I'm guessing there's a lot of things that I'm guessing there's a lot of things that I'm guessing there's a lot of things that I'm guessing there's a lot of things that I'm guessing there's a lot of things that I'm guessing there's a lot of things that I'm guessing there's a lot of things that I'm guessing there's a lot of things that I'm guessing there's a lot of things that I'm guessing there's a lot of things that I
