00:00What are you two doing?
00:02It's hard.
00:03You're instigating from behind the camera,
00:05and you're going for it like Jesse went for the train.
00:08Welcome to Miss Mojo,
00:10and today we're counting down our picks
00:11for the most unforgettable moments
00:13when Dr. Phil just couldn't keep calm on his show.
00:16During these rare but iconic outbursts,
00:18he ended up kicking some people out,
00:20shutting them down,
00:20or simply seethed in fury.
00:23Either way, they made for some good television.
00:25You were nothing before I came on this show.
00:28Thank you for that.
00:30Number 20, when no one's ready to listen.
00:33Overprotective mother Cindy brings her daughter Sarah
00:36on this episode to share their suspicions
00:38about her daughter-in-law Marissa.
00:40Curse words fly left and right,
00:41and the drama is on.
00:43When Sarah can't contain herself,
00:45Phil gives her a piece of his mind,
00:46albeit in his signature gentle cadence.
00:49I don't know what you have on your mind,
00:52or who you think you are,
00:55but that's not happening here.
00:57And if you're that immature,
01:00then I'm going to invite you to leave.
01:01Immature is lying about a miscarriage
01:03and then saying that I'm a sociopath.
01:04If you cannot conduct yourself in an appropriate manner,
01:07then I'm going to invite you to leave.
01:09When her mom comes to her rescue,
01:10claiming she's just defensive about her so-called cubs,
01:13you can almost feel the doctor's eyes rolling.
01:16Things get even more heated when Marissa comes in
01:18with an arsenal of expletives of her own.
01:20Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
01:23No, no, no, no, no, no.
01:25You need to stop right there.
01:27Were you able to hear what I was saying backstage?
01:29Yes, I did.
01:30Then you need to...
01:30But I am pissed off.
01:32I am tired of them trying to humiliate me on national television.
01:35No, no, no, no, stop.
01:36In the end, Dr. Phil is left trying to mediate
01:38between three quarrelling women,
01:40none of whom wants to back down.
01:42He quickly makes it obvious that he's had enough.
01:4519. A strict warning.
01:47This show might have spawned memes galore, but this episode is as serious as it gets.
01:52Wilma is claiming her husband, Adam, behaved inappropriately with her toddlers and violated
01:56her. Adam, on the other hand, is bent on denying it until the bitter end. As the two parties reach
02:01a deadlock, Dr. Phil issues a final warning. I need to be clear with both of you. I take this
02:08very seriously. This is a very high-stakes scenario. He offers to help either one who's
02:16willing to fess up and ask for his guidance. However, when they stand their ground, he
02:21sternly advises them against lying, saying that he will take it upon himself to prosecute
02:25them if they're found guilty. It's a surprise they didn't buckle under the pressure because
02:37it was heavy.
02:38Number 18. Defending his staff. No one messes with Dr. Phil's team, and he makes it clear
02:43on this episode. We meet Andrew and Sarah, who lost custody of their son Drew when he
02:48was five. The pair were struggling with alcohol use disorder, and Sarah's relationship with
02:52her mother, Drew's custodian Roberta, had soured. Now they want their child back. But Roberta
02:58has no faith in their parenting. That said, the moment Phil lost his cool was actually when
03:02he found out about Andrew misbehaving with his staff.
03:05You've been calling up the staff repeatedly from 6.30 in the morning until late at night,
03:15screaming and making demands and telling them if they worked for you, you would f***ing fire them.
03:22Equipped with all of the instances of his misconduct, which included racism, misogyny,
03:27and a general mean-spirited attitude, the host grilled him with no mercy. Although Andrew claimed
03:33he had good reason for it, Dr. Phil had no interest in his excuses.
03:37Did you call him screaming?
03:38No, no, you, you, I asked you a question.
03:41Yeah, that's after I asked you several that you didn't answer.
03:44No, you didn't.
03:45Number 17. The Cancer Hoax. Around the same time that Belle Gibson was garnering infamy for faking
03:50her cancer diagnosis, Dr. Phil's guest Jessica claimed her mother Patricia was doing it too.
03:55In this episode, Jessica attempts to expose Patricia for lying about living with terminal
04:00cancer, as well as a host of other illnesses. According to her, she's clout-chasing to create
04:05an image of an accomplished weightlifter who powered through cancer to break records in her sport.
04:10If you were there, you would have seen me break and make three worlds record, Jessica.
04:16You didn't break a world record.
04:18Yes, I did. UPA.
04:20At one point, Patricia even argues that she lost around 100 pounds in only a few days.
04:24What sends Dr. Phil over the edge is when Patricia feigns ignorance about the impossibility
04:29of the claim. His usually calm demeanor gives way to a dose of sarcasm, leaving the audience
04:34in splits.
04:35You lost 100 pounds in six days. Does that make even common sense to you?
04:40I don't know. I'm not a doctor.
04:41Well, you don't need to be a doctor to know. You can't lose 100 pounds in six days unless
04:46they're cutting off body parts.
04:48Number 16. The World's Biggest Bride.
04:50This case was the perfect example of how an unrealistic body goal had put a young woman
04:55on the road to self-destruction.
04:57Suzanne, who was days away from getting married, shared her dream of being an 800-pound bride
05:02with Dr. Phil. Towards that end, she was consuming nearly 30,000 calories a day.
05:08While Phil was rather understanding of her plight, it was her sister Cassie who angered him when
05:12she argued Suzanne was healthier than she was.
05:15No, she's not.
05:16Actually, she is.
05:17Unless you're in stage four cancer, she is not healthier than you are.
05:20I've had a history of heart problems. She's healthier than I am.
05:23Oh my God. I can't believe what you just said.
05:25He saw no logic behind her claim that her diet was in any way nutritious, especially when half
05:30of it was junk food. For Suzanne's own good, Phil made sure to dispel her sister's delusion.
05:35We did a pre-interview with her, okay?
05:37Okay.
05:37She told us what she had to eat the day that we did the pre-interview with her.
05:42She's healthier than you? Then you need to stay here when she leaves.
05:46Number 15. What are you? A Stepford wife?
05:49When a pair of vexed parents, Nathan and JC, bring their teen daughter Valencia to Dr. Phil
05:55to discuss her troubled nature, the host turns the line of questioning on them.
05:59He finds out the dad's violent towards their daughter and the mum couldn't care less about it.
06:03Dr. P is visibly distressed by JC's spineless negligence and snaps.
06:08He sends you upstairs and you just go. What are you, a Stepford wife?
06:13You've got a wild-eyed man standing there, frustrated, upset. She's laughing in his face.
06:19He sends you upstairs so you just toddle off?
06:22He gets even more irritated when the couple keeps coming up with excuses for their mistreatment of
06:26Valencia. Regardless of their constant explanations, Phil makes it crystal clear that assault is never the
06:33dancer and he does it in a way that stings.
06:36You scared me. There's seven other children in this home, right?
06:40Right.
06:40Yes, there is.
06:43I'm horrified.
06:44Number 14. A Toxic Husband.
06:46Marlon comes on Dr. Phil to whine about his wife, Dedria, not fitting his beauty standards.
06:51I don't believe I'm asking for a lot. She also, I think she needs to lose about 20 pounds.
06:56No, I think you need to lose 20 pounds in your head.
06:59His comments get more and more grating as he compares her to his ideal woman, Beyonce. He
07:04demands that she lose weight and doll herself up, all while managing their household on her own.
07:09She, on the other hand, has had enough of his narcissism and, from the look of it,
07:13Dr. Phil wants no part of it either. His pent-up annoyance is clear in his raised tone,
07:17but his reaction gets juicier when he pulls out the sass.
07:21What you're describing to have your life, what you need to do is hire you a hooker,
07:26a cook, and a babysitter. The episode ends with Dedria getting an empowering makeover
07:30as she regains her confidence. Number 13. A Personal Trigger.
07:35Very rarely does Dr. Phil bring his own business into his guests' problems.
07:39However, this episode was a striking exception. Three sisters, Devin, Riley, and Autumn,
07:44attempt to hold their mother, Linda, accountable for her alcohol and substance use disorder.
07:49They say that she downs about 18 bottles of beer in a day and is hostile to her family.
07:53You had to come here to have this conversation with me for me to point out to you for the first
07:59time like, oh, I am abusive, negligent, and hurtful to my daughters. Somebody needs to get your
08:08attention, woman. It is further revealed that their father, Scott, is a problematic parent too,
08:13and enables his wife. Stuck in a dysfunctional household, the girls remind Dr. Phil of his own
08:18childhood. Exasperated by Linda and Scott's behavior, he recalls how his father's alcohol
08:23use disorder affected him negatively. He gets so infuriated that he can't help but want to slap
08:28some sense into Scott. I've been in there with the yelling and the screaming and the name calling
08:33and the throwing, and nobody would step up and man up and do something about it. And I resented it
08:40then for me, and I resent it now for the three of you. Number 12. Not a Space for Mockery.
08:46Dr. Phil takes pride in maintaining the integrity of his stage. So, when his guest Charles is on the
08:51verge of tears in fear of losing the love of his life, Sally, he does his best to create a safe
08:56space for him. He brings out coach Mike Bayer to talk to him, and Charles breaks down in a moment
09:01of vulnerability.
09:02The universe, higher power is all communicating to you that this is not the right fit.
09:09I do love her though, and I wish that I could do something to change to have her in my life.
09:14But when does he grow old with her?
09:16After all, Sally, who's married to someone else and is also dating another man, Alan,
09:21has no plans of getting back together. However, when Alan starts to sneer at his predicament,
09:25Phil doesn't go easy on him. He immediately sends him down to the audience section and warns
09:30him against being inappropriate.
09:32You are being inappropriate, and I am not going to have you here mocking this situation,
09:36so I'm going to have to ask you to sit in the chair right down there where he came from.
09:40If that's not okay, then you can go out the back door. Either one. You just take your choice.
09:46Viewers burst into applause as Charles continues his consultation with Mike.
09:51Number 11. Do not insult my intelligence.
09:54A woman's attempt to demean her daughter with backhanded insults goes horribly wrong
09:58when Dr. Phil calls her out. This case revolves around Stephanie and her mother Michelle,
10:02who are at odds with each other. The former claims Michelle got her arrested by falsifying an
10:07assault report. Meanwhile, Michelle is concerned about Stephanie's harmful actions stemming from
10:11her alcohol use disorder.
10:12You say that you take her to the hospital for a seven-day hold because she's hallucinating
10:17and showing erratic behavior because of drinking.
10:20Drinking and a combination of the medications that she's been on.
10:24As Phil tries to understand Stephanie's situation and why she faced a setback in her recovery journey,
10:29her mother chimes in with passive aggression. This instantly ticks him off and he rebukes her,
10:34cautioning her against questioning his ability to pick up on her antagonism.
10:38Do not insult my intelligence by trying to think that I don't understand
10:42how derogating your comments are when you make them. I am not a fool.
10:47As always, he isn't afraid to get curt.
10:50Number 10. Did you go to the fifth grade?
10:53Everyone remembers Danielle Bregoli, aka the Cash Me Our Side Girl.
10:57Lying f*** you mean. That's what makes me want to take the next bitch car.
11:01What now? I'm sorry, I didn't get there. Are you speaking English?
11:04She went viral thanks to her rebellious behavior, weird phrases and fake street accent.
11:09But Phil wasn't having any of it. After Danielle gives a smart,
11:12alecky, poor, grammar-filled remark about stealing a car,
11:16Phil stares in disbelief before asking her if she went to the fifth grade.
11:19Did you go to the fifth grade?
11:21This results in shocked gasps from the audience who proceed to clap while Danielle marinates in the burn.
11:27It's not easy to get the otherwise calm and collected Dr. Phil to insult you in front of hundreds of people.
11:32But Danielle managed to find a way.
11:35Number 9. You, sir, have a black heart.
11:38This is a bit of a dark episode.
11:40Pamela claims that her ex-husband Pete ran out on their family to be with a massage therapist
11:44that he met at a couple's retreat.
11:46She also blames him for their son taking his own life.
11:49Because I think you have said some things here today that are absolutely reckless.
11:57Pete, in turn, says that Pamela wanted their son dead.
12:00It all culminates in a fiery and destructive three-minute speech from Phil.
12:04And I pray to God that you don't mean them, because if you do, you, sir, have a black heart.
12:13The host absolutely tears into Pete by calling him reckless and destructive before telling him that he has a black heart.
12:20Of course, everything is said in that calm Dr. Phil cadence, but you can tell that he is just seething inside.
12:27He's not often one to judge people, but he is doing a whole lot of judging here.
12:32Number 8. Get a job.
12:34This kid is so spoiled rotten that Phil resorts to raising his voice.
12:38Now that's an accomplishment.
12:39You say you watch me and you take notes? Well, take this note.
12:44In this episode, an aspiring singer, self-named King Keith Franklin VII,
12:48believes that becoming famous is more important than a job or education.
12:52As such, the 20-year-old lounges around in his mother's house, hoping to achieve that goal.
12:56Unfortunately, his mother isn't having it, and neither is Dr. Phil.
13:00The host tears into him by ordering him to pull his own weight and contribute around the house,
13:05before straight up telling him to get a job.
13:07You don't sit around watching Paris Hilton or Kim Kardashian or Dr. Phil on television
13:12and tell yourself that's a life education. Get a job!
13:16Reality checks can often be hard to listen to,
13:18especially when they come from a nearly yelling and clearly irate Dr. Phil.
13:23Number 7. You don't put words in my mouth.
13:26In this episode, Phil sits down with couple Paul and Alaska.
13:29I have no reason whatsoever to believe that she's having sex with anyone.
13:34Don't sound like it.
13:35Alaska has a cuddling business and uses provocative photos to market herself.
13:40This has led Paul to worry about her sexual behavior and personal safety.
13:44While defending herself, Alaska states that Phil has been insinuating various insulting ideas
13:49throughout the interview. In her mind, she thinks Phil believes that she sleeps with the men that
13:53she meets. Of course, this sets Phil right off.
13:55You're supposed to be helping, not making me angry.
13:58Well, look at me. Look at me. You don't put words in my mouth.
14:02He tells Alaska that she shouldn't put words in his mouth before looking her dead in the eyes
14:06and stating that he isn't afraid of her.
14:09That one woman's, oh damn, expression pretty much sums it up.
14:13Number 6. You are committing a crime.
14:16Phil has a short leash when it comes to the mistreatment of children.
14:20That is on full display in this dramatic episode that culminates in Phil accusing Kaylee of a crime.
14:25When a child is a certain age, they don't have the capacity to give consent.
14:33Kaylee is a dominatrix who gives her daughter alcohol and marijuana and allows her to have sex.
14:39Phil begins Kaylee's roast rather politely, saying that teenagers cannot give consent under the law
14:43and that adults need to monitor their behavior.
14:46You can roll your eyes and you can be sarcastic all you want. You are committing a crime.
14:52However, that was just a prelude to the main event, when Phil tells Kaylee about 20 times
14:57that she is committing a crime by giving her daughter drugs
15:00and permitting her to be physically intimate with other people.
15:03These are crimes.
15:05Phil is less mad and more dumbfounded over the whole situation,
15:08and that makes his reaction all the more entertaining.
15:11Number 5. Let me please have an intelligent conversation.
15:15Many of the previous entries showed a frustrated Dr. Phil.
15:18Here, he is positively irate, and it is oh so satisfying.
15:22Let me please have an intelligent conversation without you two bickering back and forth.
15:29First, he shows frustration with an interjection, saying,
15:31let me please have an intelligent conversation.
15:34And when the guest ignores Phil and begins bickering,
15:37he simply sits back and faults his arms like an ignored and irritated parent.
15:42Will somebody put these children's interests first?
15:45But before the woman can finish, Phil interrupts and goes off about his guest's children,
15:49which culminates in him telling her to shut up.
15:52Here we see all of the telltale signs of seething anger.
15:55Insults, folded arms, interruptions, yelling, sarcastic rhetorical questions,
16:00and exasperated hand gestures.
16:02My dad used to tell me, never pass up a good chance to shut up.
16:06The man is absolutely fuming, and it is terrifying.
16:11Number 4. Kicking off Bumfights producer.
16:13For those who are unaware, Bumfights was a film that saw people who are unhoused
16:18performing amateur stunts for small amounts of money or alcohol.
16:22The video was enormously controversial, and had even been banned in various countries.
16:26It's a sick world.
16:27A man who bought the film rights, known by the alias Ty Beeson,
16:31appeared on Dr. Phil hilariously dressed as Dr. Phil.
16:34However, his appearance lasted for less than a minute before he was kicked off.
16:38That's despicable.
16:39I don't want to talk to you.
16:40Phil stated that he didn't want to talk to Ty,
16:44and promptly had him escorted off the stage by security.
16:47This is worse than yelling.
16:49This is like when your parents say they're disappointed and refuse to talk to you.
16:52If you think I exploit people, every time you bring a guest on this show,
16:56you exploit them and spread whatever problems they have to the whole world.
17:00You think that's helping them?
17:01Yeah, keep telling yourself that. You can go.
17:03In a way, we don't think we've ever seen Phil so angry.
17:06Number 3. Sexy Vegan
17:08Sexy Vegan has earned its place in the Dr. Phil Hall of Fame,
17:12thanks to his eccentric physical appearance and reckless antics.
17:16And in this particular episode, his antics are on full display.
17:19He sings the little theme song, brags about his sexiness,
17:22and Moo walks down the aisle before hurling insults at his mother.
17:26Suffice to say, that was the last straw for Phil.
17:28Hey, hey, no, you need to look at me.
17:33I don't have to do f***ing s***.
17:35He forcefully tells Sexy Vegan to stop,
17:38and actually gives him a chance to listen before kicking him out
17:40and apologizing to his audience.
17:42That is childish and immature behavior.
17:45Phil has some mad patience,
17:47so to see him kicking someone out over their toxic behavior
17:49truly says a lot about his and Sexy Vegan's tumultuous relationship.
17:54Don't let the door hit you in the ass.
17:56Number two, Are You Kidding Me?
17:59In this episode, Phil shows a troubling clip of three adults
18:02brookering at a Little League baseball practice.
18:05The adults can be heard calling each other crazy
18:07and insulting each other's hair colors and outfits.
18:09You should be punched in the face for how you acted.
18:12One even says that the other should be punched in the face.
18:14Phil, in turn, brings up the out-of-frame children
18:17and literally shakes with anger when screaming,
18:20Are you kidding me?
18:22Are you kidding me?
18:24After some much-deserved roasting,
18:25it all ends with a very exasperated Phil
18:28leaning back in his chair and saying,
18:30Come on, in a very defeated tone.
18:32If it wasn't clear already,
18:34Phil really hates when children are involved
18:37in adult immaturity and stupidity.
18:55Number one, Kicking Out An Internet Stalker
18:58This is a legendary episode of Dr. Phil
19:00and it comes with one of the best Phil reactions of all time.
19:04It's the love story of the century,
19:06but you've never physically met.
19:10No, sir.
19:11The guest is Bailey,
19:12a young adult who liked a stranger's tweet
19:14and promptly fell in love.
19:16Bailey sent the woman thousands of messages
19:17declaring her love,
19:19even though they had never even met.
19:21You can all laugh at me.
19:22Well, you know what?
19:22I think we're just going to shut this down
19:24because I'm not into all this melodrama
19:26and you playing the victim.
19:28After Bailey plays the victim,
19:29Phil quickly shuts the entire interview down,
19:32saying that he's not interested
19:33in the melodrama and manipulation.
19:36Now think about that.
19:37Phil was so incensed at Bailey's behavior
19:40that he refused to listen or help,
19:42despite claims of wanting to do so,
19:44and just kicked her off instead.
19:46You're very manipulative
19:47and I just, I'm not interested.
19:50Sure, he never raised his voice,
19:51but actions speak a heck of a lot louder than words.
19:55Which Dr. Phil episode lives in your head rent-free?
19:58Tell us in the comments.
19:59That's like a tired record.
20:01You only have about six things you say.
20:04And, you know, after you say them,
20:06it's just...
