We have a new NBA Champion. OKC wins their 1st title as SGA wins Finals MVP. Could this be a start of a dynasty?
Transcript
00:00There is a new NBA champ, Wiggy.
00:02Yep.
00:04And I don't know, maybe things would have gone differently
00:07if not for the injury to Halliburton.
00:10But you end up with the OKC Thunder as your NBA champions.
00:16And it didn't go the way they wanted, I guess, ratings-wise, Curtis.
00:22It was a good game.
00:23The first half, you fell apart if you're a Pacers fan.
00:26The team fell apart in the third quarter.
00:29And that's where they really, Oklahoma City, took advantage.
00:32Other than the kid, TJ McClellan, no one else could score.
00:35They had 18 points off a turnover.
00:37Tyrese looked good before he went down, though.
00:39He was having a game before it happened.
00:42Is he done for all of next year?
00:44Yeah, I think it's the Tatum thing.
00:46It is.
00:47Yeah, because you could see as soon as they showed the replay.
00:49Oh, and they showed it 9 million times.
00:51So, thank you.
00:52That was his Achilles that got popped.
00:54But, you know, Indiana still had a chance.
00:57They played them tough.
00:57But that third quarter is what changed it.
00:59And then they got up by 20.
01:01And in the end, they had one last run.
01:03But they couldn't do it.
01:04So, I mean, you know, good for Oklahoma City.
01:07It was a good series.
01:08It went seven games.
01:09But I'm just happy for the safety of the person that painted the buses that Oklahoma City won.
01:14Yes.
01:15Because he would have had a really long rest of his life if that cost the Thunder, their championship.
01:21If I'm a Pacers fan this morning, though, I wish that they had lost earlier.
01:24Because then you don't have to worry about Halliburton next season.
01:27Like, the fact.
01:28Because he was playing, what?
01:29It was a strained calf going into it, right?
01:31Yeah.
01:31Game five with the calf.
01:32Right, but obviously that impacted it.
01:33Yeah, that affected it, you know.
01:35But you never know those things are going to happen.
01:37It's like, you've got to go out there and play.
01:38And you're sorry.
01:39You're like, you know, you said he hit two threes.
01:42And then that was it.
01:43So, but, OKC.
01:44They've got a young team.
01:47We'll see what happens.
01:48Dynasty?
01:48Ah, it's.
01:50And they're going to be tough, though, man.
01:52They're going to be tough.
01:53They've got to pay Jalen Williams.
01:55Why would every team wins, no matter how obscure, do we have to spend the next week talking about if it's the start of a dynasty?
02:01Like, I feel like when I was growing up, you won three and then you started the conversation.
02:05Yeah.
02:06Yeah.
02:06I mean, they're legit has been, in my mind, no dynasty since the Patriots.
02:13I, I, the argument is, is attempted when it comes to the Chiefs.
02:19But there's no, like, is, can you think of any other that even comes close?
02:24Yeah, I would say probably the Chiefs would be the closest one.
02:28Not really, that's the closest one.
02:29What, they won three or four championships?
02:31They won three.
02:32So, I would say.
02:33Yeah, you would say that in like four or five years, right?
02:36I mean, I guess that the whole, the dynasty conversation has changed into, like, what's considered?
02:43Consider the dynasty winning two championships.
