00:00And we're bringing you some breaking news that's just coming in.
00:09Russian President Vladimir Putin holds talks with Iranian foreign minister.
00:14Putin calls strikes on Iran an unprovoked aggression by Israel.
00:19Putin says attack on Iran has no justification and has said that Russia will give aid to the people of Iran.
00:27Remember, the foreign minister of Iran is in Moscow for talks and Putin has now given out a statement.
00:35Russia condemning the strikes on Iran, calling them unprovoked aggression and saying that Israel had no justification.
00:45Pranay joins me on this story.
00:48Pranay, Russia now stepping in saying that all these attacks on Iran were unprovoked aggression
00:54and Russia has said they will give aid to the people of Iran.
00:58What does this mean really for the world stage now?
01:02You know, this is another move, a critical and a very important move on the geopolitical chessboard.
01:08If you see, the Iranian foreign minister is in Moscow and he had a meeting with the Russian president.
01:13And not only the Russian president spoke to the Iranian foreign minister,
01:16he had a phone call with the Iraqi prime minister as well and other leaders in the West Asia region.
01:21So this clearly shows that now Russia is stepping in and they want to,
01:26they have already said that they will be providing support to Iran.
01:30And what kind of support it could be?
01:32Will Russia afford to have militarily involved in this conflict or this will only be a moral support?
01:39We really do not know.
01:40But yes, this is a big development.
01:42The Russian president coming out and saying these things that they are expressing solidarity with Iran
01:49and also accusing Russia, also accusing Russia, accusing the United States that it was an unprovoked
01:56and a very provocative action carried out by the United States.
01:59Also, in the United Nations Security Council meeting held yesterday,
02:03Russia, China and Pakistan wanted to bring a resolution against the United States
02:08and condemning the U.S. action against Iran.
02:12So these are the big developments which are happening currently.
02:15The Iranian foreign minister is still in Moscow and he had a meeting.
02:19He would also be holding a meeting with the senior officials of the Russian government.
02:23We know that Russia is already engaged in a conflict with Ukraine.
02:26It's been over three years.
02:28So Russia cannot afford to have another front or have a military involvement.
02:32But the very fact that the Russia want to get involved, that Russia want to express the solidarity
02:37and blaming the United States for provocation of this action will have its own ramification in the region.
02:45Well, Pranay, we've seen Russia earlier also making certain statements.
02:49Russia had earlier also warned that U.S. military intervention could destabilize the entire region.
02:55With Russia now, with Putin now making a statement calling the U.S. attack an unprovoked aggression,
03:02are we seeing more escalation on a geopolitical stage?
03:06And when it comes to the statement by Russia, what would it mean really for other countries
03:13who have made certain statements in support of Iran or Israel?
03:17You see, it's a military contract.
03:21It's a military contract between Iran and Israel where the United States have also entered.
03:26And after the entry of United States into this conflict, this clearly has complicated the situation.
03:35And if Russia also decides to side with Iran or to have some supplies of military or hardware
03:42or weapon to Iran will have another complication because Iran has helped,
03:47Iran has provided Shahid to drones to Russia.
03:50So it will be a reciprocal action on part of Russia.
03:53But this will clearly not only complicate the situation, but on the other side,
03:57it can also be a net balancer as well because many countries in the West Asia
04:00are looking at a net balancing of this entire equation
04:05because they do not want Israel to have its own way and, you know, can dominate Iran.
04:12On the other side, they never wanted Iran to have a nuclear weapon.
