01:00The Better Sister, based on the novel by Alifair Burke, is a thriller series that will leave you on the edge of your seat.
01:06It's a tale of two estranged sisters brought back together by a husband's brutal murder.
01:11To discover the truth behind his death, they must also untangle a very complicated family history.
01:17Now, for those of you who have watched, let's take a look at everything that happened at the end of The Better Sister.
01:21In the finale, we open with a flashback of what truly happened on the day Adam was murdered.
01:28Nikki had been secretly waiting for Adam outside his country house the evening of his murder.
01:32She demands to talk to Chloe and tells Adam she is going to tell Chloe and Ethan the truth about what really happened the day he called the cops on her.
01:39In the previous episode, it was revealed that Nikki was not responsible for the child endangerment that caused her to lose custody of Ethan that day, years ago in the swimming pool.
01:49The truth is, Adam drugged Nikki to guarantee that she would be intoxicated and high when the paramedics arrived, so Adam could leave her and get full custody of Ethan.
01:58Adam, realizing that she now knows the truth behind what he did, immediately gets violent and they wrestle back and forth, leading Nikki to stab Adam in self-defense.
02:07She quickly leaves the house and runs away.
02:10The episode then flashes back to 12 hours before the murder, showing Nikki at home getting a call from Ethan, who tells her that he saw his father Adam shove Chloe, hurting her.
02:19He told her it wasn't the first time he had hurt her.
02:22This is what prompted Nikki to go see Adam as she was trying to make sure her sister and Ethan were okay.
02:27We finally are brought back to the present day, realizing Nikki has been recounting this story to her sister Chloe, who asked for time to think about how to protect Nikki after what she's done.
02:37The detectives seem to be covering two different leads, one being that Nikki is potentially the killer, and the other being that Adam's work with his client Gentry could have led to his death.
02:47Chloe receives a surprise visit from Jake, who tells her that the FBI has been harassing him since Adam's death.
02:52The FBI wants Jake to get information on how Gentry is participating in the human trafficking of construction workers to get their projects done ahead of schedule for a fraction of the cost.
03:03Nikki takes Ethan out to spend time together and even introduces him to her friend Ken.
03:08Ethan takes the car to go hang with a friend while she and Ken spend more quality time together.
03:12Guidry gets the lead after talking with Adam's mom in Cleveland and connects the dots that Nikki was the one responsible for Adam's murder.
03:19The only problem is Nikki is one step ahead and releases information about Guidry's troubled and aggressive past while on the force.
03:25As a result, Guidry is put on leave and taken off the case.
03:29Chloe visits Adam's former boss, Bill, and presents an olive branch.
03:33What he doesn't know is she is framing him for Adam's murder in order to help save her sister.
03:37She plants a knife with DNA in his office and anonymously sends information to Guidry's partner Bowen that will lead him to believe Bill was responsible for Adam's murder.
03:46After Bowen secures a search warrant, he finds the evidence and places him under arrest.
03:51Nikki sees the news and knows what her sister has done to protect her.
03:55The two celebrate by resting on the beach and talking about their new book deal as the better sister comes to a twisty yet satisfying end.
