00:04:31Hi.
00:04:32You gonna come lay here next to me and look up at the sky?
00:04:33Or are you moving on?
00:04:34I was actually gonna sit on that bench over there before I saw you laying here.
00:04:41Oh, cool.
00:04:42Okay.
00:04:43Okay.
00:04:44Okay, Will.
00:04:46Okay.
00:04:47Okay.
00:04:48Okay, Will.

00:04:50Okay.
00:04:51Okay, Will.
00:05:16Whatcha doin'?
00:05:17Hey.
00:05:18What are you drawing?
00:05:19Um, I was actually gonna draw this building over here.
00:05:45Nice view.
00:05:46Show me how.
00:05:55Um, okay.
00:06:00I work at this art gallery on 3rd Street Promptown.
00:06:03It's unimportant, really.
00:06:05So you haven't had a gallery showing yet?
00:06:07No, nothing like that.
00:06:08I just, uh, I just like to draw and I hate sometimes.
00:06:12Like a cartoonist.
00:06:13Yeah, I guess you could say that.
00:06:16You're not a cartoonist.
00:06:17No.
00:06:18I just like to sketch and I draw sometimes.
00:06:20Yeah?
00:06:21Yeah.
00:06:22How about you?
00:06:24What's your, uh, what's your story?
00:06:26I got here a month ago from Oregon.
00:06:29Hey.
00:06:30Staying in a house with three other girls and got a job as a server.
00:06:34Start tomorrow.
00:06:35Thought I'd spend today looking up at the sky if I'm gonna be indoors for a while.
00:06:39Yeah.
00:06:40So where do you, where is it?
00:06:41Where do you work?
00:06:42Station 39 over in Culver.
00:06:44Oh.
00:06:45I think I've been there like, like once.
00:06:47Yeah?
00:06:48Yeah.
00:06:49But I figure I'll do this for a while.
00:06:51Figure out what to do next.
00:06:52Keep my options open.
00:06:54That's a good idea.
00:06:56Mhm.
00:06:57You're from around here, right?
00:06:59Yeah, I'm born and raised.
00:07:01So, what's it like to grow up here?
00:07:04I don't know.
00:07:05You know, it's, it's L.A.
00:07:07Things never really stay the same for me.
00:07:10I got this tech company that just moved in.
00:07:13Right?
00:07:14They're buying up all these buildings.
00:07:15Ruining the community.
00:07:18But, uh, gentrification.
00:07:20Yeah.
00:07:21I guess.
00:07:22But, I mean, it's L.A.
00:07:25Okay.
00:07:28So, what have you got planned the rest of the day?
00:07:31I don't know.
00:07:34I don't work there tomorrow either.
00:07:36And I was at home doing some sketches earlier.
00:07:38And I figured, why not get out and enjoy some fresh air, too?
00:07:41Mhm.
00:07:42Yeah.
00:07:45I bet you could do a great tap dance in those shoes.
00:07:52Oh, God.
00:07:54Ah, thank you.
00:07:55You're welcome.
00:07:56So good.
00:07:57I need a little work.
00:07:58Maybe some tap dance.
00:08:00Throw that in with some drawing classes.
00:08:01We're good.
00:08:02You'll be good to go.
00:08:03Yeah.
00:08:04I can draw with my...
00:08:05Oh.
00:08:06Oh.
00:08:07Look at you.
00:08:08Yes.
00:08:09An artist with your feet.
00:08:10There you go.
00:08:11You can start a new thing.
00:08:12Right here in Venice.
00:08:13Right here on the boardwalk.
00:08:14In the sand.
00:08:15I'd come.
00:08:16I'll draw pictures.
00:08:21You hungry?
00:08:22Let's have a drink.
00:08:23Yes.
00:08:24Okay, good.
00:08:25Let's go.
00:08:26No.
00:08:27Not really.
00:08:30No really悟.
00:08:34Anyone can find a song.
00:08:35He knows there is something...
00:08:37No, I agree!
00:08:39Love you guys!
00:08:41Well, I think that's what's fun on the floor.
00:08:43Before the floor is that.
00:08:44Here's the the舒 ain't yeah?
00:08:46You know what?
00:08:47Oh, are you normal to here?
00:08:48Just like on the floor.
00:08:49Oh that's inside.
00:08:50You we'reIT.
00:08:51Are you lonely?
00:08:52Well, it was nice spending the day with you, Will.
00:09:09You too, Liz.
00:09:10Are you on social media?
00:09:12No, I'm not.
00:09:13Well, I should have guessed with you looking like a folk singer and those strange clogs
00:09:18and that hat and beard.
00:09:19I just want to download your latest album, but of course you're not on social media.
00:09:22I think my clogs are strange.
00:09:24What about that shirt, Janice Joplin?
00:09:26Strange is good sometimes.
00:09:27Okay, I'll take that.
00:09:29Text me sometime.
00:09:30I will.
00:09:32Oh, by the way, I don't drive, so if you ever want to ask me out on a date, I hope you can
00:09:38take it.
00:09:39I don't drive either.
00:09:40The mass transit system here is good enough for me.
00:09:42I will.
00:09:43Bye, Liz.
00:09:52Shit, I'm so fast.
00:09:59Shit, I'm so fast.
00:10:04Hey, Liz.
00:10:05It's Will.
00:10:06I really enjoyed spending the day with you.
00:10:11Are you free tomorrow evening?
00:10:12Care to go on an adventure?
00:10:17gathering on a date
00:10:18Yes, please.
00:10:19You're OK.
00:10:20接着 its date
00:10:21But you're roommate mới
00:10:23See.
00:10:24You're correct
00:10:25Hey, Liz.
00:10:26It's Will.
00:10:29I really enjoyed spending the day with you.
00:10:33Are you free tomorrow evening?
00:10:36Care to go on an adventure?
00:11:03Do you like art?
00:11:33That's a random question. I don't know. I guess.
00:11:38I suppose it's what you would consider to be art.
00:11:41We're going to an art crawl downtown. That's the reason why I was asking.
00:11:46Do I like that mural? Sure. I'd say that's cool, but I don't know if it's art.
00:11:52Oh, that's art. I'm at least filled with that.
00:11:56Okay. Well, what's art to you?
00:12:00Edward Hopper. I was fascinated by his work when I was a kid.
00:12:05I think I know who that is.
00:12:10That's Edward Hopper. Nighthawks.
00:12:13He's a master at capturing what it feels like to be all alone in this world.
00:12:17Okay. I know who you're talking about.
00:12:20Yes, that's art.
00:12:22Or the Mona Lisa, I guess.
00:12:25The Mona Lisa?
00:12:27What?
00:12:29Hey. The Mona Lisa.
00:12:32What about it?
00:12:33You've just given me an idea, actually.
00:12:39Please stand clear. The doors are closing.
00:12:42this is the夜.
00:12:43This is the night.
00:12:44Two hours conflict.
00:12:46Two hours briefly,
00:12:50the new I'm just killed,
00:12:52this is the night.
00:12:55How many browsers do you think?
00:12:56What do I do?
00:12:58That's Chuck?
00:12:59That's it.
00:13:01This is Annika.
00:13:02Goodbye.
00:13:05Here is...
00:13:07me.
00:13:08Here is an знак on paper.
00:13:09so what kind of artist did you want to be when you were starting out like what we just saw
00:13:34or edward hopper no i really liked a couple local artists ed moses and craig coffin their styles
00:13:42really appealed to me and i started experimenting with different concepts meshing different styles
00:13:48and movements together but then they said that my paintings weren't original enough that my source
00:13:55of inspiration were too obvious who kept saying the others of art school oh
00:14:01so i took a different turn more abstract i guess you could say i try to paint things within my reach
00:14:15i try to make discoveries the challenge is to work against simply succeeding the more a painting
00:14:23eludes control and loses its calculated options the closer i feel to a formulation that feels
00:14:30right wow that's very thought out
00:14:36i've had a lot of time to think about it no but seriously you got all that shit worked out
00:14:43these are just your thoughts on painting i don't have anything in my life figured out at all i'm
00:14:49just walking through life blindly hoping it'll all make sense to me
00:14:53we could have some ambitions or goals or something right everybody has them
00:14:59i suppose i always wanted to open up an organic farm and hook up with some environmentalists and
00:15:06go completely off the grid that's interesting environmentalism you sure do need it
00:15:11yeah but instead i chose to move to the biggest city on the west coast filled with overpopulation
00:15:16and pollution and traffic and loud flashing lights that's what we pay for in exchange for all the
00:15:22sunshine beaches and weed yeah i've done nothing to save the environment so go figure that out
00:15:28i still got time
00:15:30you'd be so hard on yourself please
00:15:34so where'd you go to art school here in l.a. no i got out here as soon as i could
00:15:39right after high school i ran and i studied abroad i lived in germany for five years
00:15:45wow i've never been to europe you totally went after every fancy european girl you laid your eyes on
00:15:52uh-huh it's okay don't deny it no but to just go there and just be left to my own devices to just be
00:16:02there it was amazing europe's nice like very nice that's where my clogs came from oh everybody in art
00:16:15school wore them i just can't get rid of them
00:16:17i used to take the train from frankfurt to munich to berlin
00:16:25sometimes i'd head over to paris london a few times too
00:16:29take the bullet train underneath the english channel
00:16:32good old days
00:16:36so can you speak any german
00:16:38what did you say what does that mean
00:16:45that means i think you're very pretty
00:16:55shit i always wanted to go to europe never had the money though there in new york
00:17:02instead i moved here it was closer to home why did you come back
00:17:08i thought i could make it work in my own studio it showcased at a couple galleries
00:17:14and i got a job to live that's all i've really been doing
00:17:18but you said you're drunk oh yeah i mean in my sketchbooks it doesn't really count now does it
00:17:23it's not what i came back here to do so who's stopping you from doing what you want
00:17:28hey damn it
00:17:35has anybody ever painted your portrait
00:17:38jimmy russo in the 11th grade said he was going to have my face tattooed on his leg
00:17:44so every day he could look down and see me
00:17:47i don't think that counts though
00:17:49did he ever get the tattooed
00:17:51no
00:17:52oh my god
00:17:53it could have been horrible
00:17:54to have my face permanently aimed on someone's leg
00:17:57not even on his chest like a pirate but on his leg
00:18:02oh god
00:18:04what a weird story
00:18:07i wonder where he is now
00:18:09uh lord knows
00:18:11probably texas
00:18:12texas?
00:18:13what's up in texas?
00:18:15after all the big boys
00:18:17i guess he is a big boy
00:18:21he's a big calf
00:20:19Hey.
00:20:20Hey there.
00:20:21You didn't answer my earlier calls.
00:20:23Sorry about that.
00:20:24I was at work.
00:20:25Oh, I should have thought of that.
00:20:26What's up?
00:20:27Um, we're having a party over at my house.
00:20:29My roommates are doing Taco Tuesday El Grande.
00:20:32What's that?
00:20:34I don't know.
00:20:35Come over.
00:20:36All right.
00:20:37Okay.
00:20:38Yeah.
00:20:39Give me an hour.
00:20:40Let me change and shower.
00:20:41I'll be right over.
00:20:42Okay.
00:20:43Ladies, this is Will.
00:20:46Hi, Will.
00:20:47Hello.
00:20:48That's Denise.
00:20:49That's Shelly.
00:20:50Ellie owns the places in here.
00:20:51She had her period in mind of her boyfriends, I think.
00:20:55Okay.
00:20:56That's it.
00:20:57Okay.
00:20:58Sit.
00:20:59There you go.
00:21:00There you go.
00:21:01There you go.
00:21:02There you go.
00:21:03Whoa, whoa, whoa.
00:21:04He's a drinker.
00:21:05Whoa.
00:21:06He kind of interrupted my piece that I was having on the ground.
00:21:10You interrupted her piece.
00:21:11Whoa.
00:21:12She really kind of.
00:21:13I thought she fell.
00:21:14She fell?
00:21:15Okay.
00:21:16I was clearly lying down.
00:21:18Not bad.
00:21:19Liz, you're such a quiet.
00:21:20Well, her bike was turned upside down.
00:21:21I was walking through the park.
00:21:23I was going to go sketch.
00:21:24And her bike was upside down.
00:21:26She was laying there on her tree and I thought she was hurt.
00:21:29Her bike was upside down.
00:21:31Well, I was-
00:21:32How did you configure that?
00:21:34You were just like, use it as a pillow.
00:21:36It made total sense to me.
00:21:37You were using your bike as a pillow?
00:21:39That's the most uncomfortable pillow in the world.
00:21:41With a cushion.
00:21:42Of course he thought you fell down.
00:21:43Okay.
00:21:44See?
00:21:45Enjoy sweet.
00:21:46I know.
00:21:47Thank you, ladies.
00:21:48You're welcome.
00:21:49Okay.
00:21:50So, then he just came up and was like-
00:21:52Then we had a day.
00:21:54I'm sorry.
00:21:55What?
00:21:56Then we had a day.
00:21:57And then you had a day.
00:21:58We had a day together.
00:21:59You had that little eyebrow thing.
00:22:00Showed her bed.
00:22:01It's like how I come.
00:22:02I'm sorry.
00:22:03I'm sorry.
00:22:04I'm sorry.
00:22:05I'm sorry.
00:22:06I'm sorry.
00:22:07I'm sorry.
00:22:08I'm sorry.
00:22:09I'm sorry.
00:22:10Hey Will, give me a beer?
00:22:11Sure.
00:22:12Is there anything left in it?
00:22:13I think so.
00:22:14Okay.
00:22:15Come with me.
00:22:16I need you.
00:22:17Yes!
00:22:18Yes!
00:22:46Kiss me alone.
00:23:16Are you okay?
00:23:29No.
00:23:30It's...
00:23:31Wait.
00:23:32Did I...
00:23:33Oh.
00:23:34Oh.
00:23:35Oh.
00:23:36Oh.
00:23:37Liz?
00:23:42I'm coming in.
00:23:51You okay?
00:24:01Hey.
00:24:05No problem.
00:24:08Well, I guess I should get going.
00:24:11Stay.
00:24:13Stay with me.
00:24:19I can't.
00:24:21I have to work in the morning.
00:24:23So do I.
00:24:25In the evening.
00:24:31I can't.
00:24:33I wish I could.
00:24:35It's okay.
00:24:41Good night.
00:24:43Good night.
00:24:45Good night, Will.
00:24:47Mm-hmm.
00:25:17Hey. Thanks again for taking care of me last night. I didn't plan to be such a lush. See you soon. Nice place. Thanks. Been here a while. Is this me? You?
00:25:47Wow. Wasn't supposed to be, but I couldn't get you out of my head the other day, so I put you down on paper. I like it.
00:25:57I'd like to paint your portrait.
00:26:05Okay. Tell me more about yourself.
00:26:15I've already told you everything about me. Tell me more.
00:26:23I don't know what else to say. I'm exactly as you see. I don't care. I don't bullshit. I'm an open book.
00:26:37You're fun. That's all. No. How many other girls have you been with?
00:26:47Like, relationship-wise? Yeah. Anything. I've had my fair share of experiences, I guess. Come on. Tell me. I've told you everything about me already.
00:27:01Well... I dated this one girl for a little bit. I thought it was love. But...
00:27:21You know, what does it matter? This is what matters. None of them have been like you. In any way.
00:27:39What am I? Memorable.
00:27:58This is the first time it feels like I'm back home. So many trees.
00:28:02It's nice to get out of the big city. It's crazy to believe we're still there.
00:28:07I used to have this recurring dream. It doesn't happen lately, but...
00:28:13I'm wandering through the woods back home and it's a weird kind of twilight.
00:28:17I don't know if I've been wandering for hours or if I just got there and...
00:28:22There's a split in the path. I don't know which way to go. It's left or right.
00:28:27And I just end up standing there. Trying to decide.
00:28:32Well, which way do you take?
00:28:35I don't know. I wake up before I make up my mind.
00:28:41Do you have any dreams you remember?
00:28:45Yeah. I have this one. And I can't really give you the specifics, but...
00:28:53It's like I'm in this quicksand. And I can't move. And I'm just stuck there.
00:29:01And, like, the quicksand keeps coming up. But I can feel it coming. But I'm...
00:29:07All alone. And I have this feeling of just...
00:29:11Like a black void.
00:29:13It's weird. And usually by the time the quicksand gets up to my waist, I usually end up waking up.
00:29:19At night. Interesting.
00:29:23I know. It's weird. I know.
00:29:25Dreams. They're weird.
00:29:27They're weird.
00:29:38Give me, like, two minutes to...
00:29:41Stay normal. Normal for two minutes.
00:29:45That's my best face.
00:29:55That's...
00:29:57Yeah.
00:29:59Jeez.
00:30:01How much longer?
00:30:05A while.
00:30:07Can I get a drink?
00:30:09There it is.
00:30:31Hey.
00:30:33Hey yourself.
00:30:35Happy longest day of the year.
00:30:37Happy longest day of the year to you, too.
00:30:39I always thought that one should do something special on the longest day of the year.
00:30:43Something fun and celebratory.
00:30:45Like, what did you have in mind?
00:30:47I don't know.
00:30:49But I'm with you, so it's pretty much as good as it can be.
00:30:51We can make love. That would make it even better.
00:30:53Good.
00:31:55Hey, Will.
00:31:57Yeah?
00:31:59I'm not wearing any underwear.
00:32:25Do you ever want kids?
00:32:53No.
00:32:55Your life's over when you have kids.
00:32:57You're stuck.
00:32:59Besides, look at this world.
00:33:01Do we really want to bring more people into it?
00:33:03It's all crashing down.
00:33:05You could always bring some good ones into it.
00:33:11I always loved wandering the streets
00:33:13really late at night.
00:33:15I did it all the time.
00:33:17I loved looking into the quietness
00:33:19and stillness of the streets
00:33:21and sometimes I'd
00:33:23get in the middle of one and lay down
00:33:25pretending I'm all alone.
00:33:27It's a strange feeling.
00:33:29You're crazy.
00:33:31No, I'm not. I'm impulsive.
00:33:33Yup.
00:33:35Come on, come here.
00:33:37What are you doing?
00:33:39It feels so good.
00:33:49It does feel pretty good.
00:33:51It's great.
00:33:53You think you could be a hippie?
00:34:05I mean, you already dress and look like one,
00:34:07but just go.
00:34:09Just up and leave and live on the road.
00:34:11Make your way.
00:34:13Paying as you go.
00:34:15Enjoy the commune.
00:34:17A community that lives off the earth
00:34:19and is free.
00:34:23My parents are hippies.
00:34:25The real ones back in the day.
00:34:27I don't think it turns out as well as you can imagine.
00:34:31Where are they now?
00:34:33They live in Palm Desert.
00:34:35I don't know where that is.
00:34:37That sounds far.
00:34:39It's a bit of a drive.
00:34:41It's just a couple of hours outside of LA.
00:34:43I see.
00:34:45You know, I think living off the road and everything,
00:34:55it sounds really good.
00:34:57I just...
00:34:59I just don't think it's for me.
00:35:01I think I'd rather move back to Germany instead.
00:35:07Besides,
00:35:09you know, we're gonna live off the road
00:35:11and neither of us drive.
00:35:15You have a much nicer bed than I do.
00:35:21You're laying it all day.
00:35:23You can.
00:35:25I can't.
00:35:27I have to work at four.
00:35:29I start bargaining tonight.
00:35:31No more serving wage.
00:35:33Really?
00:35:35Mm-hmm.
00:35:37Congrats.
00:35:39You never told me earlier.
00:35:41I didn't want to think about it earlier.
00:35:43And, uh,
00:35:45I'll make a few more tips
00:35:47and it'll be easier to get off a few days
00:35:49so I can go back to the big old wire
00:35:51and see my folks for a few days.
00:35:53I can come.
00:35:59I'd love to meet your folks.
00:36:01No.
00:36:03My family's crazy.
00:36:05I don't want you meeting them.
00:36:07I don't want them meeting you.
00:36:11Yet.
00:36:13I'll only be gone for a few days.
00:36:15And we'll talk all the time.
00:36:17I'll only be gone for a few days.
00:36:19And we'll talk all the time.
00:36:25I love you.
00:36:27I love you.
00:36:29I love you.
00:36:31I'm happy.
00:36:32I'm happy.
00:36:41I love you.
00:36:42Let's go.
00:37:12Hey Will, I'm on the flight to Eugene.
00:37:18I'll see you in a couple of days.
00:37:20Don't miss me too much.
00:37:21See you soon.
00:37:22Love Liz.
00:37:42Hey Liz, it's Will again, just wanted to call to see if you made it.
00:37:50I haven't got a text or haven't heard from you at all.
00:37:54I'm a little worried.
00:37:55I just want to know that you made it.
00:37:57Can you just call me back please when you get this?
00:38:01Hi.
00:38:12You didn't even call.
00:38:35How could you not even call me?
00:38:37I was going to.
00:38:38I got busy.
00:38:39I'm sorry.
00:38:40You didn't even text me.
00:38:42I didn't even know if you made it or not.
00:38:44Made it or not?
00:38:45Really, Will?
00:38:46I need to check the flights online just to make sure that you were okay.
00:38:49I wasn't even gone that long.
00:38:51I didn't know it was that big a deal to you.
00:38:54Big deal?
00:39:00You've been together for six months.
00:39:03I text you multiple times.
00:39:06I don't even know how you couldn't have even noticed.
00:39:09I'm sorry.
00:39:11I'm sorry.
00:39:16I'm sorry, babe.
00:39:22I'm sorry, babe.
00:39:38I'm glad to be back.
00:39:52Call next time, please.
00:40:04I will.
00:40:22You should totally go to the mall next time.
00:40:52It feels like a little, like egg.
00:40:56You know when it cracks open, a little chick comes out?
00:40:58And if you just draw like a little face of the chicken,
00:41:00of the little chick, it'd be super cute.
00:41:06See you tomorrow?
00:41:08You're working tomorrow, right?
00:41:10I worked a day shift. I'll be off at 6.
00:41:13Well, how about I come in and hang out the last 15 minutes,
00:41:16and afterwards we can go out.
00:41:18Okay. I like it.
00:41:22What?
00:41:26Why don't you move in with me?
00:41:30Well...
00:41:32I wouldn't charge your rent.
00:41:34No.
00:41:36I don't know.
00:41:38You know I like my space.
00:41:42I love escaping over to you. It's more fun.
00:41:46I look forward to coming over and spending days and nights with you.
00:41:50You know any men will pull back in, too.
00:41:54Besides, you do not want to look at this face 24 hours of every day.
00:41:58I could.
00:42:00Good night, bud.
00:42:04Good night, bud.
00:42:08I'm gonna think about you the whole way home.
00:42:10I bet you do.
00:42:12Careful!
00:42:14Careful!
00:42:15I'm gonna have to get you some sneakers like a normal guy.
00:42:17Oh, you don't want a normal guy.
00:42:18Just let me be.
00:42:20I'm an artist.
00:42:22I'm a unique and different kind of personality.
00:42:24I don't long to belong.
00:42:26And I want to belong to you.
00:42:28Good night, Will.
00:42:48Happy birthday, babe.
00:42:50Thanks.
00:42:52Make a wish.
00:42:58I made it all by myself.
00:43:00And it's got a raw crust, so I hope you like it.
00:43:04What's raw crust?
00:43:06There's no flour or dough.
00:43:08And it's got a bunch of unprocessed raw nuts, seeds, and dried fruit.
00:43:17Let's get that out.
00:43:18Okay.
00:43:22All right.
00:43:25There we go.
00:43:31Well?
00:43:34It's good.
00:43:36Really? You're not bullshitting me?
00:43:38No.
00:43:39It's good.
00:43:40I wouldn't have known any different had you not told me this.
00:43:43Really, really?
00:43:46Really.
00:43:51Thank you, babe.
00:43:52Cool.
00:43:53Because I've been practicing at my place making all kinds of vegan food.
00:43:57I was hoping to make you some food, too.
00:44:00If you want.
00:44:01And you've been making me so many dinners, so.
00:44:06Yeah.
00:44:08Yeah.
00:44:09Yeah.
00:44:10That'd be nice.
00:44:12Thanks, Liz.
00:44:23Really good.
00:44:24It's good.
00:44:25I need water.
00:44:26Oh, God.
00:44:27It's bad.
00:44:28No, it's not.
00:44:29Okay.
00:44:30I'm eating it.
00:44:31Happy birthday.
00:44:32Happy birthday.
00:44:33Yeah.
00:44:34Happy birthday.
00:44:35Happy birthday.
00:44:36Happy birthday.
00:44:37Oh, it's not.
00:44:38Okay.
00:44:39I'm eating it.
00:44:40Happy birthday.
00:44:41Happy birthday.
00:44:42Happy birthday.
00:44:43Yes.
00:44:44Happy birthday.
00:44:45Happy birthday.
00:44:46Here is our chicken.
00:44:48Guess what's out?
00:44:49Ah, what's up?
00:44:50Oh, gross.
00:44:51Oh, yes.
00:44:52Can you tell me I have another quantity?
00:44:53No.
00:44:54This is the point.
00:44:56Recently.
00:44:57Yes.
00:44:58I'll probably not take that care of me.
00:44:59Okay, I don't know. I'm just...
00:45:11Okay, don't let go.
00:45:14Okay, don't let go.
00:45:20Woo!
00:45:29Okay, don't let go.
00:45:48Okay, don't let go.
00:45:53No.
00:46:29Hey, I'm sorry.
00:46:39It's been like an hour.
00:46:40I know.
00:46:41I'm sorry.
00:46:46Hey.
00:46:48Hey.
00:46:50Come on, let's go.
00:46:59I don't know how you do it.
00:47:28Merry Christmas.
00:47:45Merry Christmas.
00:47:48When you were a kid, did you wake up before everyone else?
00:47:50Race through the halls and try to tear open all the presents you got?
00:47:53I couldn't wait.
00:47:55It drove me crazy.
00:47:56I'd never gotten any sleep the night before.
00:47:58Not until I was 14.
00:48:01I stopped believing pretty late.
00:48:03Merry Christmas, babe.
00:48:05When did you stop believing?
00:48:06When I was eight.
00:48:09My buddy at school.
00:48:12Delia and Santa wasn't real anymore.
00:48:15So I went home and that night, I was in the bathtub and I was asking my mom if he was real and she finally broke down and told me.
00:48:23Oh, that's so sad.
00:48:29It's beautiful out.
00:48:32The sun is shining.
00:48:34Means it's perfect for a beach day.
00:48:37Come on.
00:48:38Please.
00:48:39Come on.
00:48:40Okay.
00:48:41Okay, come on.
00:48:42Okay, let's go.
00:48:43I've been waiting all morning to get to wake up.
00:48:45My favorite day.
00:48:47Don't ruin it.
00:48:47You joke.
00:48:49Oh, man.
00:48:50Good morning.
00:48:53I'm not.
00:48:58Oh, shit.
00:49:02You're okay.
00:49:06I was like, he actually rolled.
00:49:08He rolled.
00:49:09It's a nice day for Christmas.
00:49:22These California winters.
00:49:29You ever miss being a kid sometimes?
00:49:36I don't think so.
00:49:37I like it better now.
00:49:43Yeah, there are things that I do miss.
00:49:47It just feels easier now.
00:49:54Plus, I don't think I'd like to relive my childhood.
00:49:55You know, you get so excited for Christmas, but you don't even want to have kids.
00:50:17I think I'd like to make an interesting dad.
00:50:28You know, this is one of the best Christmases I think I've ever had.
00:50:46Actually, it is the best.
00:50:54The thing that always makes me so sad is there's so much buildup to Christmas.
00:50:59Now it's over, and then it's New Year's, and two weeks later everyone's miserable, you know?
00:51:03Time goes so fast.
00:51:07Well, what do you want to do for New Year's?
00:51:13Want to go to a bar or a party or...
00:51:16We're never the one to mention a bar or party when we first met.
00:51:19You've changed me.
00:51:24And then let's stay in.
00:51:26My housemates are all going out with their friends, and...
00:51:29I'm enjoying this.
00:51:58Oh, my God.
00:52:28Oh, my God.
00:52:58Oh, my God.
00:53:28Oh, my God.
00:53:58Oh, my God.
00:54:28Oh, my God.
00:54:58Thanks for dinner.
00:55:01I'm going to go drink a cup.
00:55:02I'm going to go drink a cup.
00:55:32Tony's always saying there's nothing here in L.A. that's free entertainment.
00:55:42I'm just saying, go watch the ocean.
00:55:44That's never uninteresting.
00:55:46Who's Tony?
00:55:47He's just a new bartender at work.
00:55:49We have a couple shifts together.
00:55:50It's been weirdly busy.
00:55:51It's been weirdly busy.
00:55:52Like I told you, everyone gets depressed and goes out drinking.
00:55:56They'll try to start the new year off right, but nobody can ever follow through.
00:56:01We can do something else.
00:56:02I mean, if this is...
00:56:02I was bullshitting when I said I'd like to go to the ocean.
00:56:04It's become my favorite thing to do.
00:56:08It's become my favorite thing to do.
00:56:08It helps me think and straighten out my mind.
00:56:11It helps me think and straighten out my mind.
00:56:41What are you doing here?
00:56:43Nothing.
00:56:44Worked was slow, so they decided to close early.
00:56:47Figured I'd swing by and surprise you.
00:56:49See what you were up to.
00:56:52Want a drink?
00:56:54Sure.
00:56:55So, uh, is your friend Tony working today?
00:57:04It's slow.
00:57:06They called Tony off.
00:57:10Don't forget to take your bartender.
00:57:21Cheers.
00:57:21Cheers.
00:57:22Cheers.
00:57:23Cheers.
00:57:24Cheers.

00:57:49Cheers.
00:57:50Hey, glad you could make it, what's up?
00:58:20Who's that?
00:58:21No one, just Shelly's friend from work.
00:58:23Liz?
00:58:24Who was that?
00:58:25God, Will, lighten up.
00:58:28Everything's fine.
00:58:29Here, have a drink.
00:58:31Liz, what's going on?
