00:00Michelle Obama talking on her podcast with her brother and talking about the possibility of having a boy.
00:09Remember, of course, she has two girls. They were talking about what it would be like to have a boy.
00:14And listen to how she described it.
00:16People say mothers, mothers raise their girls and love their sons.
00:21And I'd say love your son, but raise him to raise him to be as strong as you know he's going to have to be, you know.
00:30Teach him about how to deal with a traffic stop, but also teach him how to communicate in a marriage and be a listening father.
00:38You should have threw a boy in the mix.
00:41I'm so glad I didn't have a boy here.
00:43Why would you have a third?
00:44Because he would have been a Barack Obama.
00:47Oh, baby Barack. It would have been amazing.
00:51No, I would have felt for him.
00:52How is that not shade?
00:54I mean, I was trying to figure out what's the point.
00:58This is absolutely an unintended jab.
01:02Whether or not that's true, that is a topic up for debate.
01:04But what I'm thinking here, the main thing I think of when she's talking about a mini Barack Obama,
01:09I'm thinking of Barron Trump, kind of where the spotlight's been on him since he was 10 years old.
01:14Can you imagine the pressure on a young Barack Obama, his son, just trying to fit in to everything?
01:21She is not saying that at all.
01:23She is saying that Barack Obama is a—look, if you've read their books, their various books, and I have,
01:32they're very open that they've had marital trouble over the years.
01:36And especially when he was a state legislator in Illinois, she felt he was just absent and wasn't connecting with them.
01:45So I think there's a lot of history, and I think she's kind of talking about some of that.
01:50Let's do the more charitable version of what she could be saying.
01:53What is that?
01:54Is it possible that she's saying that it's hard to be a black man and black boy in America right now,
01:59that that could be complicated?
02:01She said that, about traffic stops and whatnot.
02:03And so that's hard.
02:04And then you add on top of that the pressure of being the male heir to the Obama family and being the next in line heir could be hard.
02:11Here's why I disagree with you there.
02:13Here's why.
02:13She's not talking about the pressure of having a kid in the White House because the girls had the same pressure.
02:18I know.
02:19She's talking—
02:20But if you're a guy and you're the son, it is a little different.
02:23Yeah, but she's talking about, hey, I think you should teach a boy about how to communicate, to communicate in a marriage.
02:32What does that mean, other than what I just said?
02:35Yeah.
02:35Well, this podcast doesn't seem to be great for their marriage.
02:39Or it's great for their marriage because they just put it out in their book already.
02:44Yeah.
02:45My name is Big Teeth.
02:46It's from Chicago.
02:47I think she's just saying that the public would put a lot of pressure on if there was a baby Barack.
02:51They would be asking, you know, what school is he going to?
02:53When is he going to run for office?
02:55Is he going to be in Chicago?
02:56I don't think, you know, whatever gender they would have been handed, whether it was a boy or a girl, I think they would have been successful.
03:01But also, I think being a little Michelle Obama is much better anyway.
03:05Why?
03:06Why?
03:06Yeah.
03:07What do you mean why?
03:08Being a little Michelle Obama is everything.
03:10You know, there's the education side.
03:11There's the personality side.
03:13There's the fashion side.
03:14But also, you know, being a little Michelle Obama, you're commanding the room.
03:17Like, everyone's looking at you.
03:19Everyone's looking to you for guidance.
03:20Like, he commanded the world.
03:23He was the commander-in-chief.
03:25And he played basketball.
03:26He's Michelle Obama.
03:29He's Barack Obama.
03:30He's Barack Obama.
