00:00Do you know what a great giant petro in Metro Manila is a moth or a mariposa?

00:07What a behemoth!

00:18Mariposa is a lot of feet.

00:20It's a lot of people in the metro.

00:22It's a lot of people in your child.

00:26Ayon sa eksperto, ito ay tropical swallowtail moth.

00:30It belongs to the family Uraniidae.

00:34And yung pinakitsura po niya, it's brown.

00:38Tapos meron po siyang similar, quite similar to the swallowtail butterflies.

00:44Native ito sa Southeast Asia, kabilang ang Pilipinas.

00:47Pero ang tila pagdami ng mga yan, lalo na sa mga lungsod, posibleng dahil sa liwanag.

00:53Tinatawa po natin silang positively phototactic.

00:56Ibig sabihin po noon, attracted po sila sa ilaw.

00:59Doon sa area na normally they reside in, nauubusan na po sila ng host plants na pwede pangitlogan para kainin ng mga caterpillars sila.

01:08What happens is, naghanap sila ng new places para na may host plants na ito, tuloy Exxon.

01:13In hopes of finding new host plants, napapadetour sila, especially sa mga urban areas.

01:20Kasi very, very illuminated po.

01:23Sa kalingdapuan, huwag matakot.

01:25Wala talaga siyang pinupost na any dangers to humans kasi hindi sila nakakagat, hindi na sila nakatransmit na any diseases sa atin.

01:32Pero mas maiging huwag na itong hawakan at hayaan na lang mag-flutter by.

01:37At kapag dumapo naman po sila sa atin, I hope na we treat them with gentleness and respect na lang.
