A Barnsley grandmother has died following being slightly scratched by a puppy whilst on holiday
00:05
in Morocco. Yvonne Ford went on a family holiday to Morocco in February and only two weeks ago she
00:12
started feeling dizzy, having a headache and being unable to walk. She eventually died in hospital
00:19
and health professionals have confirmed that she contracted rabies. The UK Health Security Agency
00:25
said there's no threat to the wider public contracting rabies unless they're bitten by an
00:31
animal or scratched. Officials have said that if you do get scratched or bitten by animals from
00:38
infected countries, mainly developing countries, then to wash the wound with soapy water and seek
00:44
medical attention immediately.
