Beloved comedian and ground-breaking podcast host Marc Maron reluctantly pulls back the curtain on his everyday life in Steven Feinartz's Are We Good? Here, we see Maron laid bare as the COVID-19 pandemic halts his thriving standup career, yanking him into an unwelcome, caged existence that is shortly followed by the devastating and unimaginable sudden loss of his partner and brilliant filmmaker Lynn Shelton. Bringing Feinartz along as he grapples with this new reality, we take a trip through the ups and downs of his career. We spoke to Maron and Feinartz ahead of the documentary's Tribeca Festival premiere at the OKX Theater at BMCC TPAC in New York City Saturday.

00:00I'm Marc Maron, I'm watching, or you're watching, what are we doing? Life Minute TV.
00:08Julie Sebaugh, a producer and writer, a journalist, came to me in like late 2020
00:14and we discussed the idea of doing a Marc Maron documentary, you know,
00:18obviously after Lynn Shelton had passed, it was a very touchy time and challenging for Marc,
00:23so we were very careful with how we approached it, but it felt like the sort of entry point
00:29into a Marc Maron documentary as opposed to a typical celebrity bio doc, you know.
00:33Grief comes in different forms and, you know, it's very relatable to talk about.
00:38Well, there's nothing you can do to control those feelings and there's no reason to not let them happen.
00:43People can, people can and will show up for you.
00:47What I really learned about Marc is that he is a teddy bear deep down, he's a sweet, sweet guy,
00:51he puts up a hard shell, and I think when you see the film you'll realize that, you know,
00:56deep down he is an affable, good person.
