Rick Scott: 'I Trust President Trump Will Do The Right Thing' On Iran

00:00Scott, can we talk to you about Iran, please?

00:03Hi.

00:04At this point, do you think that Congress should get a say in any possible preemptive strikes on Iran?

00:09We have the War Powers Resolution coming up next week.

00:12So, first off, I trust President Trump will do the right thing.

00:15We know that Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon.

00:19I'm very appreciative of what the Israelis have done to try to demolish the scientific leadership

00:25and the military forces in Iran.

00:30And look, here's what we know about President Trump.

00:32Here's a guy, we watched what he did his first four years.

00:34He's the one who went to the war.

00:36He wants to defend the freedom of this country.

00:38So I'm sure he'll make the right decision.

00:39What is the threat to the American people if this enrichment is, in fact, going on in Iran?

00:44Well, when they get a nuclear weapon, they've already said their death to America.

00:47So they'll use a nuclear weapon.

00:50I don't think any fans are about to buy it.

00:52So if you care about the freedom, you care about your own life,

00:55you want to be thankful that this president has been such a strong supporter of Israel

00:59and has allowed Israel to go forward and do what they should be doing,

01:03and that's to destroy Iran's capabilities.

01:05Will you support U.S. troops being further involved?

01:10Well, that's it.

01:11First off, the president has the right to make a decision to defend this country.

01:15He'll make a good decision.

01:16And the legislature, what's its role?

01:18Senator, can you describe the mood within the Republican Party around this issue?

01:22I know there are disagreements in general on the right side of the aisle

01:24of how the president should proceed.

01:26Well, I can speak for what I believe.

01:31I believe this president is doing the right thing.

01:33I believe Israel is doing the right thing.

01:35They don't have a choice.

01:37You've got the leadership of Iran saying death to America and death to Israel,

01:40so they're doing the right things.
