00:23
al que le llaman JJ.
00:26
Bienvenido, Johannes.
00:27
Gracias, gracias por invitarme.
00:28
Primero, bienvenido a España. ¿Cómo estás?
00:31
Bien, bien, gracias.
01:04
Entonces, yo tenía mucho amor a dar a una persona y luego nada regresó.
01:08
Así que pensé, si me ponen más, algo volverá.
01:12
Pero nada regresó.
01:13
Y, por lo tanto, nos llamamos Wasted Love.
01:15
Entonces, el canción came about the frustración.
01:18
Sí.
01:19
Es sobre mi frustración de just wasting so much love y so much time
01:23
01:42
I had my final pose cuando I sang the last note y luego la audiencia cheering
01:48
y luego feeling esta relief que, you know, es finalmente over.
01:53
I can just, you know, relax now and watch my friends perform.
01:56
¿Cómo tiempo tenías spent preparing your show, the song,
02:02
till you became, JJ is the winner, Austria is the winner of Eurovision 2025?
02:10
It took, I think, about like three months.
02:13
So we started like in the beginning of March,
02:15
so the entire month of March, April and, you know, half of May, basically.
02:19
We were working really hard every day.
02:21
I came here to Madrid for rehearsals
02:23
and then I went to Helsinki for rehearsals and fittings.
02:27
So I was traveling a lot, but it was fun.
02:31
What was the biggest challenge during the process
02:34
to prepare that Eurovision participation with Austria?
02:40
I would say being away from home a lot was a big challenge
02:43
because, you know, I love to be around my family and my friends
02:45
and I was away for a longer period of time
02:48
and in Basilea I was away for two weeks.
02:50
So that was a bit tough and a tight schedule.
02:53
But I must say I have an amazing team who became my family
02:57
and therefore it was easier for me to, you know,
02:59
do this very long and intense weeks.
03:03
With just 18 years old, you've been on the,
03:07
you was on the Voice UK.
03:09
What a challenge.
03:10
Yeah.
03:11
What did you learn from a TV show like that,
03:14
which is huge,
03:15
and with a mogul like Will.i.am?
03:19
It was a great experience.
03:20
You know, it was my very first television appearance anywhere.
03:25
And so it helped me a lot to understand the format of a TV show.
03:30
And at the end of the day, you know, Eurovision is very similar.
03:33
They have the same schedule, the same routine,
03:35
you know, rehearsals, sound checks and everything.
03:37
So that made me go through this entire process much more relaxed
03:42
because I already knew what was going to happen.
03:46
In your opinion, I want you to rate from first to fifth,
03:52
in your opinion, the performances of Eurovision 2025.
03:57
Oh, amazing.
03:58
So I would put, I will exclude myself from this.
04:02
So I would put number one, Sissel from Denmark,
04:05
because Hallucination, I love the Europe pop song so much.
04:08
Then I would put a number two.
04:12
I really, really enjoyed Kyle's performance from Norway.
04:17
I mean, this is also kind of biased,
04:18
because they're my best friends.
04:20
I'd also put Mirjana from Malta, number three.
04:22
I'd put Erika from Finland, a number four.
04:26
And I would actually put Melody up there as well.
04:29
I'd put her number five,
04:30
because she had an amazing performance.
04:33
It's late.
04:33
She's crazy.
04:35
Like the voice, the dancing, the entire performance, beautiful.
04:41
Do you think there's always like a debate
04:44
on their votings in Eurovision?
04:47
Do you think that politics play a game during that votings,
04:52
that the people think first on the politics
04:56
than the real talent that they're watching across TV?
05:00
Yeah, on a big television show like this,
05:02
where multiple countries compete for the win,
05:06
it's obvious that many factors are taking into account
05:11
in such a huge event.
05:16
And so it's very unfortunate,
05:18
because Eurovision is actually meant to be a music show.
05:23
And so we should continue thinking of that as such.
05:28
And the EBU, they will work multiple aspects
05:31
throughout the entire year.
05:33
So this year they were really focusing on everyone's mental health,
05:37
and they did an amazing job.
05:39
So we all had a more relaxed time in Basel.
05:43
And next year I'm very sure they will work on other things.
05:46
We talked about Melody.
05:51
What's your thoughts about Spain's performance
05:55
versus the votes that we received on the final voting?
06:01
Spain did an amazing job.
06:02
So Melody had a great performance.
06:04
I really enjoyed it so much.
06:06
And it's very hard.
06:07
You know, there are a lot of great performances
06:08
that were there this year.
06:09
So it's really hard to put anyone in any position,
06:13
because I really enjoyed so much.
06:16
So for me it was also hard to, you know,
06:18
think who would be my top ten,
06:19
or who would be my top five.
06:22
But yeah, Melody did an amazing job,
06:25
and she can be very proud of herself
06:26
that she gave 110% of herself.
06:29
Yeah.
06:30
Do you have any relation with Spain?
06:34
Oh, to be honest,
06:35
I mean, my staging director, Sergio Jain,
06:39
and Borja, you know,
06:40
they are my most, you know,
06:42
the nearest connection to Spain.
06:44
And I've been here already before,
06:45
because my sister, she did an au pair here in Barcelona.
06:49
And, of course, the Filipinos.
06:52
There's a huge Filipino community here in Spain,
06:54
and we have a lot of Spanish words in the Philippines.
06:57
We count in Spanish, the time we say in Spanish.
07:00
A lot of little stuff like la mesa,
07:02
cuchara, tinidor, plato, pantalon,
07:04
you know, a lot of Spanish influence.
07:06
Do you want to make some collaboration in the future
07:11
with any Spanish artist, and who will be?
07:15
Oh, I would love to work with Chanel.
07:17
With Chanel?
07:17
With Chanel.
07:18
That's a good choice.
07:19
A crazy performer.
07:22
I love what she did at Eurovision.
07:24
It was amazing,
07:25
and deserved that she was very far up in the results.
07:30
You started singing very young,
07:33
with 18 years old, the voice you came,
07:36
and now, with 24 years,
07:38
the winner of Eurovision 2025.
07:41
That doesn't happen a lot of times.
07:44
How changed your life since you won Eurovision?
07:47
It changed so much.
07:49
So I get recognized a lot on the streets,
07:51
or when, you know, I have a very busy schedule now,
07:54
so I'm traveling a lot,
07:56
which is fun, because I love to be around new people,
07:59
love meeting new people,
08:02
being around, you know, in different places,
08:05
new cities.
08:06
So I love to travel,
08:08
and, you know, I'm very looking forward
08:11
to making new music after this, you know,
08:13
entire press tour.
08:16
During this year,
08:17
till the next Eurovision contest,
08:21
you will have a very busy year.
08:25
What projects do you have for the upcoming months?
08:29
So I'm definitely going to be working on new music,
08:32
because that's what everyone deserves,
08:34
and I'm looking so much forward
08:36
to letting our creative minds flow
08:39
and making new music,
08:40
and then possibly even going on tour.
08:42
That would be amazing.
08:43
And then, of course,
08:44
preparing for next year's Eurovision.
08:46
It's a huge pleasure for me
08:50
and for the newspaper to have you here.
08:52
You are the first Eurovision winner
08:54
that is on the newspaper.
08:57
I don't know if,
08:58
do you mind to sing for the audience
09:01
a little bit of the song
09:03
that earned, actually, 436 points.
09:07
That's a lot.
09:08
That's crazy.
09:09
Yeah, of course,
09:10
I can sing a part of the first verse.
09:12
Wow, that's amazing.
09:27
Huge voice.
09:28
Thank you.
09:28
Thank you so much for coming to OK Diario,
09:31
and hope to see you soon,
09:33
and we deserve you all the success in the world.
09:36
Thank you so, so much,
09:37
and thank you for having me here today.
09:38
Thank you.
09:38
Thank you.
09:42
Thank you.
