00:43:53Earlier today, WWE Superstar Roman Reigns underwent emergency hernia surgery at a hospital
00:43:59in Nashville, Tennessee.
00:44:00Reigns was set to take on former Shield brother Seth Rollins at the Night of Champions pay-per-view
00:44:05at Nashville's Bridgestone Arena.
00:44:07Now, unfortunately, due to the surgery, Reigns will not be able to compete at Night of Champions.
00:44:12Roman is out of surgery, and the good news, resting comfortably at the hospital, he will
00:44:17remain there for overnight observation.
00:44:19Again, Roman Reigns has undergone emergency hernia surgery at a Nashville hospital.
00:44:23Reigns, one of the most physical big men on the roster, was scheduled to face off
00:44:27against Seth Rollins tomorrow at Night of Champions.
00:44:30He will not be competing in that match.
00:44:32Now, following the surgery, we spoke with Dr. Haley Mizgabi.
00:44:35He's the trauma surgeon who performed the operation.
00:44:38Mr. Reigns came to us throughout the emergency room, complaining of acute pain, apparently
00:44:45pain he did not have before.
00:44:47And when he was seen by my colleagues, emergency room physicians, and my other colleague, a surgeon,
00:44:51in the emergency room, he had what we call a hernia that has become caught in a pocket
00:44:57in his boink.
00:45:00I think in a person who is very active, as Mr. Reigns is, we look at probably at a rather lengthy
00:45:08time of recovery in terms of heavy lifting, pushing, shoving, kicking, sports activity that
00:45:16increases the pressure within the abdomen and that interfere with the healing process of the hernia that
00:45:22we need to pack.

00:45:56Well, yesterday I was here in Nashville promoting the Night of Champions in my match against Seth

00:46:06I was laying in bed and all of a sudden I felt a really sharp pain right below my belly button
00:46:16in my bladder region.
00:46:18I tried to gut it out, but it just kept getting worse, so I ended up calling 911.
00:46:23And they sent an ambulance, and once I got to the hospital, the doctor said I had a hernia
00:46:33and I needed to go into emergency surgery, and here I am now.
00:46:40Well, an unfortunate situation to say the least, but you know what?
00:46:44We're all glad to see that Roman Reigns is on his way to hopefully a quick recovery.
00:46:48Obviously, Roman, as well as the WWE Universe, disappointed that he will not be in action at
00:46:53Night of Champions.
