00:00Bristol Rovers new assistant manager John Stead has spoken of his coaching

00:04career so far and has brought him to the gas yeah so I finished playing when I

00:10was at Harrogate straight from that I'd already organized to go out to the

00:14States to Hartford Athletic in Connecticut I was working under Harry

00:18Watlin a really really good young coach and it was a perfect opportunity for me

00:24to you know just just learn the ropes a little bit and then getting amongst it

00:27and getting that environment I'd already done my coaching badges so I knew I

00:31was ready for that opportunity again like I mentioned before it was about a new

00:35experience something different very different things to deal with in terms of

00:40the travel was was difficult altitude playing at certain places New Mexico and

00:44Colorado so there was lots of aspects of it that were totally different to my

00:48playing career and I felt that was important after a short spell there I

00:53went down to Tampa Bay with Neil Collins as his assistant head coach there again

00:57fantastic place to live and you know took my family there was a real family

01:02experience and it and again another opportunity to to really really learn my

01:06craft and and keep improving as a coach and Bristol City are reportedly on the

01:11verge of appointing the current FC curl manager Gerhard Struber as the new boss

01:17at Ashtongate replacing Liam Manning who departed for Norwich City earlier in the

01:22months yeah I think I've said it in every single interview couldn't be more proud I

01:27think in terms of know what I've had to go through this season you know the

01:31challenges they've faced you know the battle they've faced to turn people's

01:36opinions and prove people wrong surprise a few people takes real resilience to

01:40given us some courage to do that and you and you saw it last night I think it's one of those last night

01:45you go into the game now and it's a real uphill challenge the bit that you want to

01:48make sure is that you know you go down fire and you leave everything out there and

01:52the lads certainly did that I think you know if we'd lost three in the last night

01:54and had 20% possession no shots and you know Sheffield United have had 80% and

02:0028 shots and you've been battered I think it's a different feeling I think you

02:03know the fact we went out there and you know create some really good

02:05opportunities in the first 20-25 minutes you know we kept running kept

02:08competing kept you know trying to play our way I think you know the lads you know

02:11deserve it to be so come out in credit
