00:00In the middle of the Arctic Circle, a hunter is traveling through the enormous snowy wilderness
00:04on his sled, guided by a pack of Siberian huskies. Halfway across, he encounters a polar bear and
00:10decides to go the other way, so as not to risk the huge predator. He then guides the sled along
00:15the path near the lake, but the huskies begin to be pulled into the water. Desperate, the hunter
00:20tries to save them, but unfortunately they are all devoured by an unknown predator, which begins
00:25to pull the subject towards the lake. The hunter does his best to escape, but as soon as he
00:29approaches the water, a huge shark attacks him and takes his body to the bottom of the
00:34sea. Far away, in a research laboratory, scientists led by Dr. David are monitoring the polar ice
00:39caps. According to the sensors, the temperature in the region is rising in an unusual way,
00:45causing the ice to melt rapidly. One of the members, called Sammy, decides to go to the
00:50site to check if the sensor is faulty, leaving Dr. David and his girlfriend Tracy to continue
00:54monitoring. In addition to them, the rest of the group, together with Sammy's brother,
00:59are finishing setting up an underwater robot to investigate a new sea current that could be the
01:03key to understanding the increase in water temperature. Sammy then appears and tells Michael
01:08that he will check the sensors, but his brother warns him to be careful as the ice is getting thinner
01:12and thinner. Just as Sammy sets off on his snowmobile, David and Tracy try to enjoy a moment alone,
01:18when they are interrupted by a radio call. The call comes from Tao, a local researcher,
01:22who tells the couple about the disappearance of a hunter. Tao suspects that he has fallen into a
01:27hole in the ice, but Tracy fears that it is something worse, as other cases like this have
01:32happened in the same region. Before he disappeared, the hunter sent a message indicating his location,
01:37which is a mile away from the laboratory. Tracy and David promise to help in the search for the
01:42missing subject and set off across the Arctic on their snowmobiles. In the middle of all the ice,
01:47the couple are racing their motorcycles when they notice something strange up ahead.
01:50They see a strange trail heading towards the lake, as if a motorcycle or sled had been pulled into
01:56the water. When they take a closer look, the couple find blood and pieces of meat scattered
02:00in the snow, as if they were the remains of a predator. David suspects that it was the work of
02:05a polar bear, but then he sees a fingernail in the snow, which is certainly that of a human.
02:10This makes Tracy even more nervous and she says she can smell a strong odor around her,
02:14similar to ammonia. She then tells David to return to the base, but at the same moment,
02:19A shark crosses the ice and attacks the doctor, knocking him into the water.
02:23Tracy desperately screams for her boyfriend, who tries to swim back, but finds himself surrounded
02:28by a huge fin. Quickly, Tracy runs towards the bike and grabs a gun, armed with a harpoon
02:33attached to a rope. As soon as she fires the harpoon, David grabs hold of it and Tracy ties
02:39the rope to the bike, speeding off to pull the doctor out of the water. Luckily, the plan works
02:44and David is pulled back to the surface, seconds before the shark manages to devour him. Tracy then
02:49goes to help her boyfriend when they see more shark fins in the lake. The couple think it's best to
02:54get out of there as soon as possible, but the harpoon with the rope gets stuck in the snow,
02:58forcing David to cut it with a knife. The sharks continue to approach, but the doctor manages to
03:03release the motorcycle just in time and the two make their way back to the base. Minutes later,
03:08the couple arrive at the laboratory and the team does their best to warm David up before he suffers
03:13from hypothermia. As soon as they take off his wet clothes, the group puts him on a table and gives
03:18him blankets and hot drinks to warm him up. With David's temperature returning to normal,
03:23Michael asks what happened and the doctor says he was attacked by a shark. Alex doesn't believe this,
03:28as there are no sharks in the area, but Tracy says that this species resembles Greenland sharks.
03:33They are a rare species that have meat-rich in uric acid, which is why they smell like ammonia.
03:37This explains the strong smell Tracy smelled on the spot and she believes it was the sharks that
03:42attacked the hunter. David then asks for a map and shows the place where they found the predators,
03:47indicating that it is one of the spots where the ice is melting rapidly. The doctor's theory is that
03:52sharks have lived near there since prehistoric times, and with the melting of the polar ice caps,
03:57they manage to reach the region. With everything explained, Michael instructs the team to send out
04:02a call for help and hastens to relay the situation to Sammy. Tracy then uses the radio to talk to
04:07Tao, giving him all the details of the shark attack. The guy thinks the story is absurd,
04:12but he still promises to send a message to all the locals to be as careful as possible.
04:17Michael then tries to contact Sammy, who continues to follow the motorcycle in search of the sensor.
04:22Finally, he finds the device, which seems to be in good condition, but the ice around it is thinner
04:27than he expected. Sammy then decides to return to base, but just as he was getting back on his
04:32snowmobile, a shark jumps out of the water and bites his leg. Unable to walk properly,
04:37Sammy drags himself through the snow and the shark tries to reach him, but the creature ends up sinking
04:41into the water. As a result of his injury, Sammy loses a lot of blood, and with no way of getting
04:46back to the base, he loses his life in the middle of the huge snowy desert. Unaware of this tragedy,
04:52Michael continues to try to contact his brother, but he doesn't return and everyone fears that the
04:57worst has happened. However, Eddie doesn't want to give up on his friend, and armed with a pistol,
05:02he sets off in search of Sammy. Michael also decides to go along, but as soon as they leave
05:07the lab, they come across a huge fin, which begins to prowl the place, as if it were breaking the ice
05:12around it. The two soon realize that the shark is making a circular cut in the ground, with the aim
05:17of leaving the base stranded and adrift at sea. To prevent this, Michael takes a rope, ties it to one
05:23of the lab's support bolts and attaches the other end to one of the snowmobiles. Eddie then rides the
05:28motorcycle in an attempt to pull up the block of ice on which the laboratory is standing, thus closing
05:33the hole made by the shark. However, the bike can't support the enormous weight of the structure and
05:38the shark starts circling again, this time heading straight for Eddie. Michael asks his friend to
05:43return to the lab, but before he can, the predator jumps out of the water and devours Eddie in a single
05:48movement. Faced with this scene, Michael goes back inside and warns them what has happened,
05:53with the group having to think of a way to stop the sharks. If that wasn't bad enough,
05:57the ice base breaks up and the laboratory begins to move towards the freezing sea.
06:01With no time to lose, David has the idea of creating depth bombs with gas tanks to destroy
06:06the sharks, or at least scare them away. The group agrees, and as soon as they have prepared the bombs,
06:13they drop them into the sea and count the seconds until they detonate. Immediately afterwards,
06:17the gas causes detonations in the water that make the sharks move away, but none of them are hit by
06:22the blast radius. In addition, the seismic wave generated by the bombs causes the base to shake,
06:28damaging the radio antenna. As a result, they can't broadcast calls over long distances,
06:33making the entire base virtually incommunicado. Faced with yet another problem, Val suggests using
06:39the underwater robot as a makeshift anchor so that they don't drift further from shore.
06:43Michael agrees and prepares the robot to send it through the tank below the lab,
06:47with Val controlling it via remote control. Thanks to the camera built into the robot,
06:52they are able to visualize the location to position it, until they see a boot with a human leg.
06:57Michael soon recognizes it as the same boot worn by Sammy, confirming that he too was a victim of
07:02the sharks. Soon afterwards, the robot's camera is suddenly disabled and Val suspects that it has
07:07been devoured by a shark. She then tries to pull the robot back, but to her misfortune,
07:12the predator jumps through the tank and attacks Val, devouring her completely. The force of the
07:17shark ends up causing a tremor in the laboratory, damaging the ice structure and causing the entire
07:22facility to sink. As a result, Michael and Alex see the lower floor of the base flood,
07:27allowing the hungry sharks to enter. In a quick reaction, Michael sets off to get the suitcase with
07:33the tranquilizer guns, handing one of them to Alex. After that, the two of them shoot at the sharks,
07:38which move away, but it certainly won't be long before they return. Michael tries to think of what
07:43to do next when he notices a bare wire near the generator box. With the water flooding more and
07:48more of the floor, he hatches a plan and tells Alex to start the generator when the signal comes.
07:53Then, as soon as the shark comes back to attack them, Alex turns on the generator,
07:58causing an electrical discharge that scares the predator away once again. Thanks to this,
08:02the two of them have been given some time to live, but they still have to get out of there,
08:06because more sharks are about to appear. Without hesitation, the two swim to the door,
08:11manage to open it and when the shark tries to attack them again, Michael closes the passage.
08:16After that, they run to meet David and Tracy, who try to get in touch via radio,
08:20but can't because of the damaged antenna. Things only get worse when the lab sinks faster and faster,
08:26and before long, the entire structure is underwater. Tracy then rushes to set up the emergency
08:31locator transmitter, as this is the only chance of sending a rescue signal. With a lot of effort,
08:36she manages to assemble the equipment and send the signal, but the entire laboratory sinks into the
08:41water. According to the computer's calculations, the sea is 90 feet deep, but David believes that
08:46the base can withstand a maximum of 120 feet before everything breaks under the heavy pressure.
08:52The four of them follow the computer's monitoring, hoping that the data is correct.
08:56Fortunately, when the laboratory reaches the seabed, the computer confirms that they are at 90 feet,
09:01with the base maintaining its integrity. Even so, the collision with the bottom ruptures
09:06the lab's plumbing, with Michael and David scrambling to plug the leak. With that problem
09:11solved, another one arises when the sharks start circling the base and Tracy tells them to close
09:16the windows and turn off the lights, so as not to attract their attention. Before all the windows
09:20are closed, one of the sharks sees the researchers inside the structure and tries to break in.
09:25This causes an opening in the hull of the laboratory, but David and Michael take a blowtorch
09:30and use it to seal the wall, closing the water leak once again. The situation continues to escalate,
09:35however, when the electrical system breaks down and all the lights go out. In addition,
09:40the laboratory only has one more day of oxygen and there is no way to swim back to the surface,
09:45as the sharks are still on the prowl. Gradually, all hope is lost, but Michael comes up with a plan
09:50to get out of the base and reconnect the power system. His idea is to use the double doors on the
09:55lower floor to depressurize the floor below, get out of the lab and collect the batteries that
09:59powered the submarine robot. After that, he intends to connect the batteries to the electrical system,
10:05so that the base will have electricity again to rewire the radio. Although it's risky,
10:09there's no other solution and the group agrees, with Michael collecting the diving equipment to
10:14start the search. Before he goes, Alex hands him an iron bar to use as a weapon against the sharks.
10:19Finally, Michael passes through the double doors and reaches the sea, with the predators circling the
10:24area, but they ignore the diver and go the other way. Michael takes his chance and swims towards the
10:30underwater robot, finding the batteries and connecting them to the electrical system.
10:34Seconds later, the power is reconnected and David activates the pump mechanism,
10:38causing the lower floor to depressurize and eliminate the water. After risking his life,
10:43Michael returns to the lab, with everyone relieved that he has arrived safely. Hopes have been renewed,
10:49but David knows that they still need to increase the range of the radio if they are to have a chance of
10:53making contact. The solution is to connect the power cable to a panel outside the lab,
10:57which will serve as a kind of long-range transmitter. Michael agrees, and once again,
11:02he volunteers for the mission and heads down the passageway until he finds the panel.
11:06However, one of the sharks appears and bites into the cable, breaking the connection and preventing
11:11radio transmission. Despite this, Michael makes it safely back to base, but any chance of making
11:16contact and calling for help has been reduced. However, all is not lost, and thanks to the emergency
11:22signal transmitter set up by Tracy, a rescue ship picked up the call. In a few minutes,
11:27the captain gets in touch with the lab and Tracy brings him up to speed. Despite the critical
11:31situation, the captain brings good news, he has already requested a rescue helicopter,
11:37which will arrive in a few minutes. When they hear this, the whole team is relieved and Michael
11:41says he's going out again to pour jets of dye, making it easier to find the lab. Minutes later,
11:47the rescue helicopter begins to fly over and the pilot sees the dye stain in the water.
11:51Finally, he throws a cable with a hook underwater, and Michael goes towards it to catch it,
11:56swimming hidden among the seaweed and avoiding attracting the attention of the sharks.
12:01After going unnoticed by the predators, Michael makes it safely to the hook and connects it to
12:06the metal cables at the top of the laboratory. The helicopter then begins to pull the base out of
12:10the water, with Michael staying close by to ensure that the hook is not broken. However, one of the
12:16sharks ends up biting the support cables and the impact pushes Michael away. Because of this,
12:20the sharks manage to locate him and devour him, splitting him into two halves. To make matters
12:26worse, the cable can't support the weight of the lab and the helicopter begins to lose stability.
12:31Meanwhile, inside the lab, the trio try to keep their balance as long as they can and David uses
12:36the radio to ask the pilot to cut the cable. However, he doesn't manage to do it in time and
12:41the helicopter is pulled into the sea and destroyed on impact. At the same time, the base also sinks again
12:46and reaches the bottom, with the wreckage of the helicopter falling on top of the laboratory.
12:51As soon as the base has stabilized, David gets back on the radio and asks the captain what can
12:55be done now. He says he's out of ideas, but Tracy asks if there are any salvage bags on the ship,
13:01as they could be used to float the laboratory. David agrees and asks the captain to send some of them,
13:06as he'll do everything he can to get them installed at the base. Alex also offers to go along,
13:11as she wants to know what happened to Michael. As for Tracy, David asks her to stay on the base
13:16and keep in touch via radio in case things don't go according to plan. Even against the idea,
13:21she accepts, and the couple embrace, with David promising to return to save her no matter what.
13:27Finally, the doctor, alongside Alex, leaves the base. Using their diving equipment,
13:32they quickly swim out to collect the salvage bags. As soon as they have collected them,
13:36they start to tie them to the lab's support cables, when the sharks start to surround them.
13:40David promptly fires his flare gun, hitting a shark in the eye, which is forced to dodge.
13:46At the same moment, Alex continues to deploy the rescue bags, when another shark advances towards
13:51them, forcing David to fire his pistol again. Once again, the shot is accurate and he manages
13:56to fend off the predator, but it's only a matter of time before they return. Alex is almost finished
14:02with her work when one of the sharks starts advancing towards her. Luckily, she had taken a
14:07blowtorch with her and uses it to hit the shark in the eye, which moves away writhing in pain.
14:11Alex continues to fire the torch to keep the other predators at bay, but in a surprise attack,
14:17another shark appears behind her and devours her. David screams for his friend, but it's no use.
14:22Now he has to get out of there before he becomes the next victim. So, with the rescue bags attached,
14:28he pulls the mechanism to activate them and the whole base begins to float rapidly. Inside the base,
14:33Tracy watches everything through the pressurized window, hoping that David won't be attacked by
14:38the sharks. What she didn't expect was that one of the creatures would see her through the glass,
14:42and without hesitation, the shark advances towards the window and manages to break into the laboratory.
14:48In a few seconds, the water starts to come in and Tracy tries to get out, while the shark tries
14:52to attack her with its sharp teeth. In the meantime, David is finishing firing up the rescue bags,
14:57until finally, the base rises to the surface. After hours underwater, David sees the huge rescue
15:04ship, which, using a crane, begins to pull the laboratory up to the deck. However, they soon
15:10realize that the shark is hanging out of the window, desperately trying to devour Tracy. She tries to
15:15protect herself behind an iron ladder, but the shark is too strong and manages to pull it away.
15:20Nevertheless, Tracy grabs the piece of the ladder and starts attacking the predator,
15:24until she manages to throw it out of the window, knocking the shark onto the deck of the ship.
15:29After this confrontation, David rushes back to the laboratory to find Tracy,
15:33who very nearly escaped alive. He then takes his girlfriend to be attended to by the crew of the
15:38cargo ship, but the two soon realize that the shark is still alive. Even out of the water,
15:43the creature struggles, pushing everyone around, including a crew member who drops his pistol on
15:48the ground. Tracy orders the whole team to move away from the monster, and when David sees the
15:53pistol, he jumps over the shark, grabs the gun and aims it at the creature. Before firing,
15:58he notices a flammable gas cylinder hanging next to the door. So instead of aiming at the monster,
16:03David fires at the cylinder, releasing the pressurized gas that pushes the shark back into
16:08the icy sea, saving the entire crew. After hours of terror at sea, the couple are reunited,
16:14happy to have survived this nightmare. Unfortunately, the same can't be said for the rest of their team,
16:19who were wiped out by the ice sharks and are still on the loose, about to terrorize the entire arctic.
