00:08This is a farcical story.

00:10It's typical of the SNP's crazy approach to net zero.

00:14You know, just as they want to stop producing oil and gas in Scotland

00:17and continue to import it from elsewhere,

00:19the SNP are now planning to ban landfills in Scotland

00:22while sending all the rubbish south of the border.

00:25You know, it just is a crazy thing to do

00:28that we're going to put all this trash on diesel lorries

00:32and move it elsewhere.

00:34It just doesn't make any sense.

00:35So it's causing pollution as well, because, as you say,

00:38100 lorries a day, every day, belching out all those fumes.

00:42It's incoherent.

00:44No, it just completely doesn't make sense.

00:46And this is all down to SNP's incompetence.

00:49They announced this ban was meant to be in place in 2021.

00:54They had to delay it.

00:56But the infrastructure is still not there at all.

01:00So, you know, the SNP often talk about boosting exports.

01:02I just didn't think it was going to be export and rubbish that they had in mind.

01:06It is absolutely unbelievable.

01:09Somebody's going to be making money out of this, Douglas.

01:11Who does well out of this farce?

01:13Well, I guess it'll be waste companies south of the border.

01:16They'll be rubbing their hands at accepting all this rubbish from Scotland.

01:20And could you imagine the SNP's outrage if it was the other way around?

01:25If rubbish was coming from England up to Scotland, you know, all the SNP flag-waving

01:32zealots would be there at the border sort of blocking all these trucks.

01:36It just is unbelievable what is happening.

01:38And this is because of methane, just so people understand what it is.

01:41So the black bin bags full of household rubbish, which would include vegetable peelings, etc.

01:47They will decompose and they will create methane, which the SNP says a very dangerous greenhouse gas.

01:53So we can't have it.

01:54Surely they haven't just forward.

01:56There's no forward planning here, is there?

01:58No, that's the key thing.

02:00You know, so introducing the landfill ban.

02:02OK, it was fine.

02:03But you have to have the infrastructure there to deal with it in other ways.

02:07And, you know, there was meant to be energy from waste plants built to cope with all this rubbish.

02:12But they've been years late.

02:14And so this is completely down to the SNP's bad planning.
