00:00So we're here at Market Drayton Cemetery and we're with Councillor Tim Manton. Hello sir. Hello.
00:04So Tim, what's been happening today? Rather a special occasion, six years in the making I understand.
00:09Six years in the making. We've had the consecration by the Bishop today up at the Town Council's
00:15cemetery. There are some things in life which only happen once in a lifetime and I'm pretty
00:21sure this is probably only going to happen once in my lifetime. It's been absolutely fascinating
00:25but the cemetery is a special place in Market Drayton for obvious reasons and to get the
00:30Bishop here to consecrate the Town Council cemeteries are absolutely fantastic and we're very, very
00:36pleased. It's thanks to the hard work by the Town Council staff and obviously the St. Mayor's
00:43and unfortunately Catherine can't be here today. But no, it's been a wonderful day. The weather
00:48has come out for us and it's been absolutely fantastic.
00:52And there was, I was kind of unexpectedly, you have to process to the four corners of the
00:57land that's to be consecrated, don't you?
00:59That's correct. So it was a little bit of a hike for us. We have to do the blessing in
01:05each four corners of the land which was quite interesting and the Bishop obviously had to
01:13strike the cross into the ground at each of the four corners and then bless each of the
01:18four corners as well. So yeah absolutely fascinating. Well, well done Tim. It's six years in the
01:23making and today it's happened. Well done sir. Thank you very much indeed.
01:27The blessing of the eternal God be upon this place to sanctify it, to keep it holy and to
01:34make it a place of lost and hope. Through Jesus Christ our work. Amen.
01:40Amen.
01:42Amen.
