00:17Star Golden Hearts Award provides an ideal platform to recognize individuals
00:21who quietly but significantly improve the lives of those around them.
00:25At McDonald's, we serve not just food but we also serve people.
00:30In that, what we mean is the community in which our restaurants exist
00:35and where our restaurants actually run its operations.
00:38The Star Golden Hearts Award really resonates with us because it celebrates unsung heroes,
00:45people who give a lot of their commitment at a personal level to doing good in the community.
00:51And SGHA is really a fantastic platform to recognize these unsung heroes
00:56and people who actually would give their time, effort, you know, really meaningful efforts in making a difference.
01:07Melati said McDonald's Malaysia carries out over 10,000 community initiatives annually
01:11through its programmed community at McDonald's.
01:14She adds that this mission aligns closely with Star Golden Hearts Awards' objective of promoting unity and compassion
01:19throughout all segments of society.
01:22We hope that this award reminds participants or recipients or people who want to nominate themselves
01:29that you don't need a lot of budget, you don't need a title, you don't need a platform to actually do good.
01:35All it takes is passion and you want to be committed to the community or to your cause
01:40and to be present in the lives of people who actually need help in this manner.
01:45And to the younger generation, we really hope that this is an inspiration to them
01:50because we want that movement, you know, we want all of us to be gunning together towards a Malaysia
01:57that cares for its society, that cares for the people who need a little bit of extra love and care
02:03and really want to unite through community, unite through integrity and unite through diversity as well.
02:10This year introduces the McDonald's Caring Hearts Award,
02:13a new category recognizing individuals or grassroots organizations
02:17whose compassionate actions have created profound and enduring positive change in people's lives.
02:22The category honors Malaysians, whose selfless contributions generate meaningful impact for others,
02:27driven not by desire for recognition, but by genuine dedication to community welfare.
