00:00We'll begin with a spin.
00:04Validating would be an understatement, and it is nothing short of a spectacular honor.
00:10Welcome to Ms. Mojo.
00:11And today, we're counting down our picks for multi-talents who are already established voice actors when they revealed their more musical range.
00:19You're in my world now, not your world.
00:22And I got friends on the other side.
00:26Number 10. Jennifer Hale, Scooby-Doo and the Witch's Ghost.
00:32I'm gonna cast a spell on you. You're gonna do what I want you to.
00:40Holding the Guinness World Record for most prolific video game actress, Jennifer Hale has lent her voice to films and shows since the early 90s.
00:47At the end of the decade, she pushed her skills to bewitching heights in Scooby-Doo and the Witch's Ghost.
00:52The movie debuted the animated goth rock band The Hex Girls, with Hale as frontwoman Sally Thorne McKnight.
00:59Her powerful and alluring belting on multiple songs helped to deliver a cult classic for Scooby-Doo fans.
01:05The Hex Girls themselves have made several appearances in the franchise and been embraced as empowering icons.
01:10Earth, wind, fire and air We look bad, but we don't care
01:18Though Hale has had an otherwise low-profile music career, it's enough to make her a rock star.
01:24And a terrified town that doesn't know what to do
01:29That's my favorite. Love that.
01:32Number 9. Tomori Tosunoki, Sword Art Online, Alternative Gun Gale Online
01:3817-year-old Tomori Kosunoki hit the ground running with several voice roles at the start of her career.
01:50She was much more understated about her experienced vocal talents.
01:54To See the Future, the theme song for Sword Art Online, Alternative Gun Gale Online,
01:58set up a bright future for the pop rocker before her 2020 breakout in the musical anime franchise Love Live.

02:11Kusunoki then signed with a Sony Music subsidiary and cultivated a new fanbase.
02:17She also continued with Love Live, only to hand off the role of Setsuna Yuki to Koko Hayashi,
02:23following a diagnosis of EDS.
02:25Other than that, this condition doesn't seem to have slowed down her prolific acting career or inspiring music.
02:31So高く,果てγͺく,ζŠ±γγ—γ‚γŸζœͺζ₯が,素敡にγͺγ‚‹
02:41Number 8. Gray Delisle, The Small Time
02:45I do Vicky and the Fairly Odd Parents.
02:49Whether you know her as Gray Delisle or Gray Griffin,
02:52the versatile voice actress wasn't all that well known going into the 2000s.
02:56Her big break would coincide with the release of The Small Time, a country music album.
03:01If I called your momma nasty names
03:04Referred to you as my ballin' chainin'
03:07Delisle's breathtaking singing and equally impressive songwriting must have really shaken her first industry.
03:13She would go on to have musical numbers regularly throughout her distinguished acting career.
03:18Along the way, she has put out a massive, critically acclaimed music catalog.
03:22She even won a Grammy for her tribute to Father of American Music, Stephen Foster.
03:34With so many memorable credits and voices in several mediums,
03:37Delisle is a real renaissance woman.
03:40You are the light in my dark world
03:46Number 7. Mamoru Miyano, Kuon
03:59From Death Note to Mobile Suit Gundam 00, Mamoru Miyano is one of the top names in anime voice acting.
04:05He had been in the business for almost 20 years when he shocked everyone by releasing a single.
04:10Miyano's youthful, powerful voice was at its silkiest in the sweeping ballad Kuon.
04:14Two more singles would be released over the next two years before the album Break fulfilled the promise of its title.
04:31Miyano became a pop sensation, winning multiple Seiyuu awards for both acting and singing.
04:37And with his mixing the two disciplines all the way to stage productions of West Side Story and Waitress,
04:42This legendary talent is still full of surprises.
04:46Now I know that I can see,
04:50What a beautiful world is.
04:55Number 6. Troy Baker, random thoughts on a paper napkin.
04:58Wake up in the morning to your faded halo.
05:05Best known for his work in video games,
05:07Troy Baker is considered a rock star among voice actors.
05:10That's not just because he actually looks the part.
05:13Baker was just starting to establish himself in anime English dubs
05:17when his alternative band Trip Fontaine released their debut album.
05:20Hey, hey, tell me how you feel.
05:26Random thoughts on a paper napkin bolstered the swaggering, wailing frontman's cult appeal.
05:32His mainstream success has since extended to the band Window to the Abbey and his own solo work.
05:37Baker's contribution to soundtracks even won him the Spike Video Game Award for Best Song in 2013.
05:43There's a better holiday in the sky.
06:00With many accolades for voice acting on top of that, he clearly knows how to rock a recording booth.
06:06Number 5. Ayah Hirano, breakthrough, the melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya.
06:21Ayah Hirano spent the early 2000s in a variety of supporting roles in anime.
06:252006 was so decisively her breakthrough that she released a pop single actually named Breakthrough.
06:31A month later, she could be heard as the title character in the melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya,
06:36which featured a number of songs by Hirano herself.
06:38The success of the anime series and its soundtrack turned the 18-year-old into an idol overnight.
06:52In addition to reprising Haruhi in spin-offs, Hirano has rivaled her prolific acting career with mega-hit singles and albums.
06:59She's also headlined into live-action films and stage productions.
07:02Both with help from and in spite of her outspokenness, Hirano has the range to be called the voice of a generation.
07:17Number 4. Kree Summer, womb amnesia.
07:20Families fell for Kree Summer for her work in animation and the live-action sitcom A Different World.
07:30Imagine their shock when she fronted the alt-rock band subject to change for the album womb amnesia.
07:44But there was no denying the power in Summer's voice or the iconoclastic edge to her songwriting.
07:49This continued on her solitary solo album Street Fairy, which was produced by Lenny Kravitz and covered a variety of genres and bold themes.
08:04That is quite the departure from the song Summer has performed in more family-friendly entertainment since 1999.
08:09The fact is that her brief taste of rock stardom was just the beginning of many musical and acting hits for all ages.
08:16And it hurts coming back to life, coming back to life.
08:23Number 3. Keith David, The Princess and the Frog.
08:27Gentlemen, enchantΓ©.
08:31A tip of the hat from Dr. Vassilier.
08:34Disney established the always great Keith David as a legendary voice actor in the 90s, but it wasn't until 2009's The Princess and the Frog that they fully utilized his glorious baritone.
08:45The villainous Dr. Vassilier steals the show with the sinister jazz jam friends on the other side.
08:55David's naturally musical voice seamlessly grooves and swings with equally infectious belting.
09:00The Randy Newman composition has since become a gold record, hailed as one of the great Disney villain songs of its era.
09:18Meanwhile, David has performed in the animated musical series Central Park and Hasbeen Hotel, as well as Disney's Mufasa, The Lion King.
09:26His musical turns may be rare, but they are consistently worth the wait.
09:30I hope you're satisfied.
09:33But if you wait, don't blame me.
09:37You can blame my friend on the other side.
09:43You know what you wanted.
09:46Who wants what you hate.
09:49I'm just as tough as Blossom and Buttercup.
10:02I'm hardcore.
10:04It always seemed like Tara Sherandoff's energetic and versatile voice would be perfect for a musical.
10:09One could definitely say that she was thrown into the deep end with her last project before changing her credit to Tara Strong.
10:15But in her Annie award-winning portrayal of Ariel's aptly named daughter, Melody, she led The Little Mermaid to return to the sea with the lilt of a true Disney star.
10:24The ever-prolific Strong has since become a go-to for authentic, often tongue-in-cheek tributes to that musical style.
10:31Watch me soar
10:34For a moment I can shine
10:37I've got a grin and a fan that works fine
10:40My fingers are wrinkly and I really don't care
10:43If all of my curls have curls out of my hair
10:47She's also made singing and live performances a big part of her public image.
10:51The music is, after all, a highlight of Strong's iconic vocal range.
10:56The music is, after all, a little bit

11:25Number 1
11:27Seth MacFarlane
11:28Family Guy
11:29Oh, my head is filled with voices
11:33And they never go away
11:36There's a baby kind of British
11:38An alien who's skittish
11:40And might be possibly gay
11:43It's almost hard to believe that Seth MacFarlane wasn't always a superstar for his vocal versatility in music.
11:49He did develop an enthusiasm and education in singing alongside animation.
11:54But it wasn't until the second season of Family Guy that proper musical numbers became a staple of his shows.
12:00Ironically, Peter Griffin's butchery of musical theater in The King is Dead really broke out the actor's theatrical showmanship.
12:06Marshall, Will and Holly, and a routine expedition!
12:11No matter how distinct or silly his voices get, the talent is serious.
12:16Since signing with Universal Republic Records in 2010, MacFarlane himself has become a pop star in the jazz tradition.
12:23Of course, with the range that voice actors are capable of, maybe we shouldn't be surprised by such an artistic transition.
12:29But tonight it's all completely okay
12:35Cause this is SNL
12:49Who are some other actors who shocked you with their other vocal talents?
12:55Speak up in the comments.
12:57And it's my way!
13:07And it's my way!
13:09And it's my way!
13:11I'm thinking about the Video!
13:12And it's my way!
13:13I feel like I'm not sure that you're able to do that.
13:14I'm not sure that you're able to do that!
13:16I don't feel like I'm not sure that you're able to do it.
13:21But sometimes-
13:22You're able to add the type of character to the character, but you're the kind of a human being on the other side.
13:26But I don't feel like I'm really thankful!
13:28You're able to do this.
