00:00Today we're talking about beauty, right? I think, or at least for myself, I feel like every other
00:05week there's like a new celebrity beauty brand dropping. And I think especially when I saw
00:12SZA coming out with a new line, I was like, okay, we need to talk about this, right?
00:15Sometimes it's hard to tell if, you know, people are just slapping their name on something as a
00:21money grab, or if it's truly something they're passionate about or knowledgeable about.
00:26I love SZA, but at this point, I'm like, do we really need another one? I just feel like there's
00:34a little bit of beauty brand fatigue. But to be fair, I feel like some of them, especially the
00:40ones coming from our community, are doing something different. You know, you have the key soul care
00:45that leans into wellness, Sabrina Elba with Sable Labs, who's championing a beauty. And then, you
00:53know, not, for example, by SZA, feels very on brand, very minimal, very no makeup, makeup.
00:59I feel like when you're coming into the space, you have to give us something that isn't already
01:03on shelves. And for example, that's why I love Danessa Myrick's as a brand, because I feel like
01:08there's always innovation in her products. At the end of the day, I feel like beauty is
01:15part functionality, but also part play and part expressing ourselves. People and celebrities
01:21like SZA. She, to me, is someone like her lip combo eats. So it makes sense for her, in my opinion,
01:28to launch or start with a lip product.
01:32What celebrity brand are you guys loving right now? Drop it in the comments, and we can't wait
01:38to read and engage with all of you.
