00:00Bargain Hunters, mark your calendars. Amazon Prime Day is returning next month and shoppers will have double the days to shop.
00:08Amazon announced its annual summer shopping event will be extended to four days from July 8th through the 11th with deep discounts on brands including Levi's, Samsung and Kiehl's.
00:19Also new this year, Amazon is introducing Today's Big Deals themed daily deals exclusive to Prime members while supplies last.
00:27Last year, Amazon's two-day shopping event broke records. It generated $14.2 billion in global sales across the 48-hour period with an average discount of 18 percent.
00:38That's according to Capital One Shopping.
00:41The deal drops come at a time when consumers are turning cautious amid uncertainty over tariffs and the economy.
00:47U.S. retail sales declined a worse than expected 0.9 percent last month.
00:52That's the largest decline in sales in four months with particular weakness in autos, building materials and garden equipment.
00:59However, online sales actually rose 0.9 percent, which could bode well for retailers like Amazon.
