Given rapidly deteriorating conditions in the Islamic Republic of Iran, Wisma Putra strongly urges Malaysians to leave the country immediately.

In a statement Tuesday (June 17), the Foreign Affairs Ministry said it was closely monitoring the security situation in Iran through the Malaysian Embassy in Tehran.

00:10In a statement issued Tuesday, the Foreign Affairs Ministry said the situation remains
00:15highly volatile and could worsen without warning.
00:18Wismaputra confirmed that the Malaysian embassy in Tehran is actively monitoring the situation
00:25and is in close contact with all registered Malaysians.
00:28So far, all have been reported safe.
00:32Consular assistance is being provided to facilitate their departure.
00:35The ministry added that the safety and well-being of Malaysian citizens remains its top priority.
00:41For emergencies, Malaysians in Iran can contact the Malaysian embassy or reach out via email.
00:47The ministry has also activated its operations room to assist concerned families back home.
00:54The conflict intensified last Friday, when Israel launched a series of strikes on Iranian territory,
01:00reportedly killing several high-ranking officials and scientists.
01:04In retaliation, Iran responded with ballistic missile attacks on several Israeli locations,
01:10resulting in casualties and injuries.
