After a six-day immersive tour, the 10th session of Jinhua Homestay 2025 “Chinese Bridge” Doolittle Raid Summer Camp concluded successfully. The six-day summer camp was jointly hosted by the Center for Language Education and Cooperation (CLEC) of the Ministry of Education, Zhejiang Provincial People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, Jinhua Municipal People’s Government, and Zhejiang Normal University. We’ll now head to the closing session, where 60 students and teachers from five U.S. states, including Utah and Kansas, took the stage to talk about some of their highlights from the six-day summer camp.

During their stay in Jinhua, the participants got involved in a series of cultural experiences throughout the city and visited places like Leapmotor, Panda Pig Ranch, Hengdian World Studios, and Yiwu International Trade Market. They tried their hand at crafting Wuzhou kiln pottery, an intangible cultural heritage, got an insight into the dynamic growth of China’s film industry, and saw for themselves the global sourcing hub of Yiwu. These inter-cultural encounters left a lasting impression on the American visitors.

The event not only encouraged deep exchanges between Chinese and American youth but has also enhanced mutual understanding, injecting new energy into China-U.S. relations. As a next step, Jinhua plans to host more people-to-people exchange programs and attract more foreigners to China to promote a better understanding between different cultures.

00:00At this sharing session, 60 students and teachers from five U.S. states, including Utah and Kansas,
00:07took the stage to talk about some of their highlights from the six-day summer camp.
00:11Yeah, this has been an experience of a lifetime for me.
00:14I've had so much fun, you know, with experiencing new cultures, different people.
00:18My biggest takeaway is when we visited the schools on Thursday,
00:21all the kids here were just so nice and they had so much love to give
00:24and they were so interested in me and all my friends.
00:26And like, we just had great conversations over lunch.
00:30During their stay in Jinhua, the participants got involved in a series of cultural experiences
00:35throughout the city and visited places like Leap Motor, Panda Pick Ranch,
00:40Handian World Studios and Yiwu International Trade Market.
00:44They tried their hand at crafting wuzhou kiln pottery, an intangible cultural heritage,
00:50got an insight into the dynamic growth of China's film industry
00:54and sought for themselves the global sourcing hub of Yiwu.
00:58These intercultural encounters left a lasting impression on the American visitors.
01:04I was so excited to get to explore more of the history and the culture,
01:09whereas before I had traveled so quickly and had not gotten the chance to really learn
01:15about some of the history and the people and get to spend time.
01:20And so really having some of these conversations and seeing some of the ancient crafts,
01:24like the tofu making and the pottery, we really love the ancient village as well.
01:30I think that was such a beautiful component of this.
01:32I am hopeful about the future of our cooperation.
01:36We've had conversations about continuing this program,
01:39but also in continuing to explore what the future partnerships might look like
01:43and how we can bring more students to China and expand these opportunities.
01:47I think all the students will become ambassadors for this program as well.
01:52The event not only encouraged the deep exchanges between Chinese-American youth,
01:56but has also enhanced the mutual understanding,
01:59injecting new energy into China-U.S. relations.
02:02As a next step, Jinhua plans to host the more people-to-people exchange programs
02:07and attract more foreigners to China to promote a better understanding between different cultures.
02:12The 10th session of Jinhua Homestay 2025 Chinese Bridge Dolayto Red Summer Camp has now come to an end.
02:21But the friendship between Chinese and American youth will endure long after.
02:25Over the years, the Jinhua Municipal People's Government and Zhejiang Normal University
02:30have collaborated extensively, especially in respect of such youth exchanges.
02:35We are committed to both bringing in young people and reaching out
02:40so that we can establish ourselves as a base for the cultivation of talent in education,
02:45educational research, and cultural exchanges between China and the U.S.
02:50Hence, we will continue to expand our exchange programs by sending our students abroad
02:54and by welcoming overseas students here.
02:56Our goal is to cultivate talent who can successfully operate in an international environment,
03:02and we will be stepping up efforts to reach this goal.
