00:00The WWE saw worlds collide and basically was able to cash a lot of money into the bank.
00:11It was a busy, busy weekend for World Wrestling Entertainment.
00:16Let's start with the big show first.
00:18Money in the Bank.
00:19You have Naomi, who is now Miss Money in the Bank as she picks up the win there.
00:25I thought this match was fantastic.
00:26I thought this was probably the match of the show.
00:30I feel like this is another great showcase for Roxanne Perez, kind of elevating her back up to a level that I think she should be at.
00:37I think it is a very good showcase for a Stephanie Vakere.
00:41And Rhea looks strong and looks over as it, as always.
00:46So fantastic work for basically everyone involved.
00:50And I think it's a really good call giving Naomi this briefcase.
00:54She has a fantastic character that she has worked on now in this heel persona, and it really is starting to shine.
01:04And so I think you give this character a little bit more depth and just add a little bit more to it.
01:09It's a much needed win for this character after getting beat like a drum by Jade Cargill for a while.
01:13So I think you give a character depth, you give her a very big win, it immediately rockets her back into the main event picture.
01:22And I think makes it a very, very interesting character now to pay attention to.
01:26And just immediately, like I said, puts her into that championship level into the rest of 2025.
01:33Dominic Mysterio retains the Intercontinental title.
01:36They set this one up earlier in the night with Octagon Jr.
01:40I thought it was a fun tie-in with Worlds Collide.
01:43Octagon gets a few fun spots in, but for the most part, it's a Dominic-dominated match.
01:47Getting him to kind of come across as a heel.
01:50It didn't work. We'll talk about Monday Night Raw later.
01:53But it didn't work.
01:54It really, like, people are still cheering for this guy.
01:57The one thing, like, I saw a lot of people commenting about how, like, if you're just going to do a four-minute match, what's the point?
02:03I do wonder, because there was a spot at Worlds Collide where Octagon is going for the Tope Con Hero over the top rope onto the floor.
02:16And I forget who it was who was supposed to be there to catch him, but didn't.
02:20And he just landed flat right on his back on the floor.
02:24I do wonder if that kind of jarred him a little bit.
02:26They still had to get this one in the ring and get it done, but I do wonder if he was maybe a little bit compromised for this match.
02:31And so that is why they had to pick up the pace in it a little bit more.
02:35Becky Lynch is the new Intercontinental Champion.
02:38I enjoyed this match, and I enjoyed this feud.
02:40I have talked so much about how good this feud is for Lyra Valkyria.
02:44Valkyria, sorry.
02:46It gets another strong match for her.
02:48It elevates her, like, continues to elevate her status now among fans here in WWE.
02:53I hope, like, again, we'll talk about Raw a little bit later on, but obviously there is now a Becky, or a Bayley aspect to this.
03:00And I just, I hope Lyra doesn't get lost in the shuffle, because I think they are so close to a breakout with this performer.
03:06And I think the incredible talent that she has is just about to shine through in more ways than just being a very, very good in-ring performer.
03:15But that being said, now, this does add quite a bit of legitimacy to the Intercontinental Championship, having a couple of big names going after it.
03:22Very, very strong overall, and a feud that you can come back to.
03:26And staying in that family, Seth Rollins is the winner of the men's Money in the Bank.
03:31This one felt like the right call.
03:32Like, you have a few guys in here who could benefit from this, obviously, but you have a few projects on the go right now anyway.
03:39And I don't know if any of them are ready for this.
03:42I mean, LA Knight would be the other one that you could say.
03:44But in terms of the guys they're focusing on right now, it feels like this would have been too much too soon for them.
03:51So Seth Rollins, it is part of a bigger master plan with this.
03:54And we've seen in the Paul Levesque era that the Money in the Bank briefcase, it can be used in a let's build a star sort of a way in Tiffany Stratton, Damian Priest as well.
04:05But it can also be used as kind of a main staple and just a bit of a storytelling device in a main story, a little bit more than we have seen in the previous regime.
04:16And I think that's what we are getting now with Seth Rollins.
04:19So you have Seth starting a new faction and looking to take over wrestling.
04:23Giving him this power, I think, makes a whole lot of sense.
04:25But, like, you get some really good moments in this.
04:28The Jacob Fatu thing with Solo.
04:29The people are so ready to be cheering for Jacob Fatu in that way and getting behind him.
04:35It just, it feels correct, I guess you could say.
04:38And it feels like the, one of the big moments now in the buildup for Jacob Fatu.
04:46So interested to see where all the follow-up goes with that.
04:50And then you get to the main event.
04:51John Cena and Logan Paul taking on Cody and R-Truth, or sorry, Cody and Jey Uso.
04:56The big story of this is R-Truth.
04:58He comes back.
04:59It was the big story in wrestling all week.
05:02This was always in the back of my mind.
05:04And I know that this wasn't a work.
05:06I am aware of that.
05:07But it did kind of have a bit of a feeling of Drake Maverick in NXT where he got cut.
05:13And then he came back and won the Cruiserweight Championship in NXT.
05:16And they gave him a contract coming off of that.
05:19And so I do wonder, I'm interested to see where they go from this.
05:25And that was always in the back of my mind with everything that was going on with this.
05:31I don't think we should get to the point where Truth is the one taking the belt off of Cena or anything like that.
05:36But it adds another layer to a Cena character.
05:39It adds another layer to a Cena comeback.
05:41And when we saw the buildup on Monday and on Friday as well, there's a lot going on with this one that I think is really interesting.
05:51They would have absolutely had this year planned out for John Cena.
05:55And now with this added wrinkle, I wonder what changes in that whole plan.
06:00So if that part gets included in the Netflix Unreal show, that would be a little bit fun to see how all of that kind of plays out as well.
06:12But I mean, look, that saved an abysmal match.
06:17This was terrible.
06:18This was a dreadfully boring match.
06:21And for R-Truth, or not sorry, for R-Truth, for Jey Uso, this did not come across well.
06:30I get the story is he's trying to help his friends out and stuff like that.
06:33But he gets just absolutely worked over in this fight or in this match story.
06:38And then the big comeback that he has to finally make that tag is Logan Paul and John Cena are in a debate.
06:47And unfortunately, that was still like one of the more exciting moments of the match.
06:51This match just dragged and it was really bad.
06:55But overall, this was a good show.
06:56Not a great show.
06:57You obviously have some big action spots.
06:59You have a lot of interesting storyline directions now coming out of this, heading toward Night of Champions with the King and Queen of the Ring with SummerSlam, John Cena, and R-Truth.
07:08There's a lot of different stories that you can kind of pivot to and tell.
07:11But that main event really, I think, kept this from being a great show.
