Kolkata, June 16, 2025 (ANI): BJP workers held a rally from Sealdah Railway Station to Deputy High Commission of Bangladesh (West Bengal) against vandalism at Nobel Laureate Rabindranath Tagore's ancestral home in Bangladesh on June 16. On meeting with Bangladesh Dy High Commission, BJP leader Agnimitra Paul said, “5 leaders were there (in the meeting) and raised some pertinent questions like why was the house of Rabindranath Tagore's house vandalized?... Why are Hindus being attacked (in Bangladesh)?... Why isn't the Yunus government taking action? Why is the population of minority Hindus decreasing?... Because Muhammad Yunus, just like Mamata Banerjee, does appeasement politics. He is under the control of Islamic fundamentalist forces, who don't want the national anthem composed by Rabindranath Tagore, in Bangladesh... They (Dy High Commission) were polite enough to answer us and requested us to send them an official mail, which they can send to the (Bangladesh) government. They were complaining that the visas are being cancelled which is having a bad effect on their country. I clearly told them that this wasn't started by India, but Bangladesh, when Hindus were killed and yet no action has been taken... We want the previous friendship to normalise...”

00:20Welcome!
00:22Come on!
00:24Come on!
00:26Come on!
00:28Five of us were there, myself was there, our general secretary of the party, Lockett Chatterjee
00:38was there, Mahila Mocha, president of West Bengal Falguni Patro was there, and the two
00:45presidents of North Kolkata and South Kolkata, Anupam Bharchaj and Tomogno Ghosh was there.
00:50All five of us raised some pertinent questions that why Kobiguru Robindana Thakur's house
00:56was vandalized. Why? Why are we seeing in Bangladesh, Kobiguru's statue is being broken, vandalized?
01:06Why? Why are we seeing Hindus are being attacked? Even 15 days back, Hindu, Matuas, their villages
01:14were attacked, burned down, temples were burned down. Every day, every other day in Bangladesh
01:20we are seeing Hindus are being attacked. Why? Why isn't the interim government of Muhammad
01:26or the UNIS taking any action? We also raised questions that the population of the minority
01:32Hindus over there are decreasing.
01:34I raised a question that when Kobiguru Robindana Thakur's house was vandalized two days back
01:41on the 8th of June, the statement given by the interim government, when they said that Kobiguru's
01:50house was vandalized, they never said that Kobiguru Robindana Thakur, the creator or the writer
01:58of the national anthem of Bangladesh. Why? Why couldn't you acknowledge that? I raised a question.
02:06Why? Because, because, because, Muhammad Yunus, just like Mamata Banerjee, does appeasement politics.
02:12Muhammad Yunus is under the control of the Islamic fundamentalist forces. And these Islamic fundamentalist
02:21forces, they don't want Robindana Thakur's national anthem to be there in Bangladesh. And that is the reason, I raised a question,
02:29why you haven't mentioned. So, we have raised pertinent questions. And they were polite enough to answer them. And they requested us to send them an official mail so that they can, you know, send this mail to the government.
02:48And they want, they were complaining that visas are being cancelled. And it's been having a very bad effect on their country. But I, I very clearly told them that this wasn't started by India.
03:01This wasn't started by Bharat. This was started by y'all. Y'all have started killing my Hindu brothers and sisters and no action has been taken. No steps has been taken.
03:12So, it is your duty, you know, to control the situation. And we want the previous, you know, friendship between the two countries to be, to come back, you know, to be, to, to get normalized. We want that.
