00:00With 240 empresas at the exhibition
00:02and 2,000 visitors and delegates to the conference
00:06starting yesterday and ending tomorrow
00:10this event, the Baku Energy Week
00:12has become the must-attend event
00:15in the whole region.
00:22Baku Energy Week has become a pivotal fixture
00:26in the global energy calendar.
00:27Now in its 30th year, it marks a defining moment
00:31for energy diplomacy, innovation and leadership.
00:35By 2030, we again, based on already signed contracts
00:40and investment commitments, are planning to have
00:446.5 gigawatt of renewable energy installed capacity
00:50and that will be more than 35% of our total energy grid.
00:57So the green agenda of Azerbaijan is very ambitious.
01:02With over 40 countries represented, Azerbaijan is using this platform
01:07to show its energy ambitions extend beyond export
01:10to transition, resilience and global relevance.
01:14We built together with our partners strategic pipelines
01:19to connect Caspian Sea with Black Sea, with Mediterranean
01:24and also, of course, the crown of our pipelines
01:28is a thousand gas corridor which stretched for 3,500 kilometres
01:34from Azerbaijani offshore fields towards Italy.
01:40The Southern Gas Corridor is now a critical route for European supply,
01:45a symbol of Azerbaijan's geopolitical influence
01:49and its long-term partnerships with Europe.
01:51When this event started 30 years ago, the purpose was to tell the world
01:56what we have, what our mission and vision is and how we can bring the world together,
02:02both regional and globally, to realise this potential to the benefit of Azerbaijan
02:07and the world and the region.
02:09Besides traditional energy resources, we are also telling the world what we have,
02:13what our vision is in terms of green energy and decarbonisation.
02:16This is not simply a showcase of existing capacity.
02:20Baku Energy Week is a signal of acceleration and Azerbaijan's role in building a new energy coalition.
02:27We will become Net Zero by 2050 energy company and we also have very aggressive targets for 2030 and 35.
02:34So, we will rely on three primary enablers.
02:38Number one is decarbonisation of the core, the core businesses that we are in.
02:43Number two is changing the DNA of the organisation, including the culture,
02:48so we embrace the decarbonisation and energy transition on basically a molecular level.
02:56Number three is getting into the low-carbon businesses.
03:00For example, renewable energy generation, low-carbon fertilisers and these types of products.
03:07Energy security, technological progress, political cooperation, these aren't competing themes,
03:12they are converging and Baku is a place where that convergence is taking shape.
03:16Energy security is an important topic, not only the energy security but also the green energy export.
03:22There has been a lot of emphasis on this region in terms of energy, food and water security.
03:28And we at Masdar are playing a very crucial role.
03:32Policy meets pragmatism here in Baku, where energy futures are being written.
03:37We have been participating in Baku Energy Week for the past three years.
03:41It's an important platform that brings investors, financiers, companies from different sectors,
03:48particularly focusing on energy, to have a dialogue, to basically focus on energy security
03:54and how we can provide a sustainable and clean energy in the future.
04:00And we have, it's a great platform and we're here today to also support the journey of Azerbaijan.
04:08That sentiment is shared by global partners, including Germany.
04:12Germany has a long-standing relation with Azerbaijan.
04:15Two hundred years ago settlers came to Azerbaijan and since then the relations have been developing.
04:21Here today are more than thirteen firms and enterprises who show their world-level technology.
04:30And we just signed last week a roadmap in the areas of energy, transport, middle corridor and other areas.
04:40And that's why we are here. We think Azerbaijan plays an important role in the middle corridor.
04:47From hydrogen to hydrocarbons, it's clear the energy debate is no longer about direction,
04:52but about pace, equity and resilience.
