OFWs back from Middle East  Eighteen OFWS caught in the crossfire in the Middle East arrive at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 1 on Monday, June 16, 2025. Migrant Workers Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac vowed full government support for all OFWs affected by tensions in the Middle East. OWWA Administrator Patricia Yvonne Caunan, meanwhile, advised departing OFWs bound to Iran and nearby countries to check the situation before their flights. 00:22Flues here in Manila, in the Israeli side, with respect to the earliest possible time that they can be flown home.

00:32Doon naman po sa trabaho ng mga OFWs na papunta sana ng Israel, pero hindi na po sila natuloy dahil sarado po ang airports.

00:41Makikipag-gugnayan na rin po ba tayo sa kanilang mga employers regarding this situation?

00:45Yes, yes, that's right. Itong labing lima na umuwi, we are in close coordination with our embassy

00:51and our migrant workers office, na makausap naman din yung kanilang employers.

00:56And as I said, meron tayong pantawin na financial assistance dahil temporary silang mawawala ng trabaho.

01:03Lastly, sir, kung alimbawa po magkaroon nga po ulit ng medyo malalang pagunuhan,

01:08saan po pwedeng lumikas ang mga OFWs po na apektado doon po sa Israel, sir?

01:13Yes, merong crisis team ngayon si Ambassador Aileen Rao sa Tel Aviv.

01:20And there have been identified possible points where they could meet para ma-sundo sila sa respective points na ito

01:28that could be transported to shelters.

01:30We are also in the process of identifying particular shelters outside of our own shelter in Tel Aviv,

01:37such as the one that we set up in Rehobot.

01:40So, we will set up temporary shelters all around where OFWs could meet up and stay temporarily,

01:49again, in coordination with our Embassy Ambassador Rao.
