00:03A recent decision by the Court of Justice of Minas Gerais, released on June 13,

00:10established that the goal should compensate Brazilian users affected by leaks

00:15of data that occurred in 2018 and 2019.

00:19Each person impacted is entitled to receive R$10,000.

00:23According to the Collective Defense Institute, responsible for legal actions,

00:27the measure could benefit more than 170 million individuals.

00:32Security incidents affected the Meta, Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp platforms.

00:39The conviction results from two public civil actions brought by the Institute.

00:44In addition to individual compensation, each case generated a fine of R$20 million for collective damages,

00:51in addition to the R$5,000 for individual damages initially established.

00:55The Instituto Defesa Coletiva informed Poder 360 that payments will be made directly

01:02to consumers, without the need for intermediaries.
