01:00So we're spending the summer riding a spectacular loop through 17 of our closest neighbours.
01:06Starting at my house in Scotland, we'll cross over to the continent, travel up through the Nordics and into the Arctic Circle, down to the Baltics before winding our way through the Alps and across France, returning home about two months later.
01:18And we're going to throw caution to the wind by doing the journey on temperamental 50-year-old bikes that have been given a new lease of life.
01:28My bike's making funny noise.
01:31Riding alongside them on the third motorcycle are cameraman Claudio and Max, and the guys will also be taking personal diary cameras.
01:39Russ and I will be following behind with a small crew and two electric trucks, only meeting up with the guys when necessary.
01:46And we're going to follow our noses and see what we find on the open road.
01:56Okay, here we go.
02:11Into Europe, into Holland.
02:13My gosh, here we go.
02:16Welcome to Holland, everybody.
02:20Oh, I love the tunnel.
02:28This trip's going to be so different from the rest of our trips.
02:40We shouldn't have any pressures of the extreme A to B of it all.
02:44It can be more loose and slower, and we'll have more time to meet people and have more fun, more silliness, I should imagine.
02:50I think it's going to be amazing.
02:52So far, we've ridden from my house in Scotland to Newcastle, where we jumped on an overnight ferry to the Netherlands.
03:04Today, we're going to check out a unique local sport before camping near the German border.
03:09First, though, a quick pit stop for lunch in Amsterdam.
03:17Okay, there's a bicycle.
03:20Wait, and go.
03:22I love this town.
03:30I've always loved this town.
03:32Breathtaking, isn't it?
03:36As long as I can remember, I've traveled, and I still have that burning feeling of exploring and experiencing different things.
03:46When you're riding a bike, you can go and explore the world.
03:49It's good for your soul.
03:50It makes you feel so connected.
03:53Are we allowed to go on the pavement?
04:00We're just here to get some herring, don't you know?
04:03I'm looking forward to trying.
04:04I'm starving.
04:06Sorry.
04:06Sorry.
04:07Sorry.
04:07Sorry, everyone.
04:08Sorry.
04:09Sorry.
04:09Sorry.
04:10Sorry.
04:10Look, go on.
04:11Can I buy this?
04:12Can I buy this?
04:14I haven't used my credit card yet.
04:15Yeah, you buy this.
04:16Yeah, for sure.
04:17Hang on, let's just see what my pin is.
04:18Do you think you've got it on your phone?
04:19I've got my pin.
04:20I've got my pin.
04:21I could do it on here.
04:22On your phone, you don't need it.
04:23You don't need your pin?
04:24No, you don't need your pin on your phone.
04:25So, would you like one or two?
04:26Two, please.
04:27Two, please.
04:28Yeah, because we've got to enjoy together.
04:29Oh, there we go.
04:30Look.
04:31Yeah.
04:32It's been prepared in salt water.
04:34So, it's raw, but it's kind of pure.
04:36So, the outside is a little bit...
04:37OK.
04:38Would you like any onion and pickle on that?
04:41Pickle, please.
04:42Pickles?
04:43Only pickles or no onion?
04:44What would you do?
04:45I would do both.
04:46Let's have both.
04:47Well, no onions for me.
04:48I can't do raw.
04:49My gluten and my phosphorus is very tricky.
04:53So, we'll do just pickles here.
04:55Is that a thing?
04:56Where's onions?
04:57I don't know.
04:58I just burp them out.
04:59Mmm.
05:01Mmm.
05:02It's really good.
05:03All set.
05:05Thank you very much.
05:06Very good.
05:07Delicious.
05:08Really nice.
05:09Let's go outside where they've got more room.
05:10To enjoy it.
05:11This is a huge flour market that goes all the way down there.
05:14I walked along here with Mary not long ago.
05:17Should we have a quick look?
05:18We haven't got time.
05:19But anyway, it's very nice to be here.
05:25Oh, all right.
05:26Seeing as we're here.
05:27Just blend in, okay?
05:28And no one will notice.
05:30Okay.
05:32Would you buy me a flour?
05:33I would buy you flowers.
05:34I would.
05:35I've got nowhere to put them.
05:36But I like the thought.
05:37I'll keep that in my mind.
05:39Buy me a bulb.
05:42Oh, look.
05:43There's those big cheeses.
05:44Look.
05:45You know when they talk about the big cheese?
05:47That's the one they're talking about.
05:48Yeah, it was here.
05:49Should we take one for camping tonight?
05:50Yeah.
05:51Yeah.
05:52Let's get a cheese.
05:53Which one do you recommend?
05:55Okay.
05:56I have the traditional gouda over here.
05:58Oh, yeah.
05:59It's not pasteurized.
06:00Well, I'll say that one, shall we?
06:01Yeah.
06:02Should we try this one?
06:03Yes, please.
06:04Yeah, let's try it.
06:05Ooh, look at that.
06:06Oh, that's the wax you've taken off.
06:08I see.
06:09You've done this before.
06:10I see.
06:11Yeah.
06:12Thank you very much.
06:13You're welcome.
06:14Thank you so much.
06:15It smells amazing.
06:19You've got more of this, right?
06:20I've got more of it.
06:21Yeah, I knew what she was.
06:23Sorry.
06:24Sorry.
06:25It's all right.
06:26I'm going to take one of those.
06:27Come here.
06:28Guys, if anyone's interested, I have the cheese, okay?
06:33If anyone's looking for it later.
06:37Okay, here we go.
06:41I love the excitement of seeing the world.
06:47I just get such a lot of pleasure out of seeing the different landscapes and being in them.
06:54There they are.
06:55Look, here's our first windmills.
06:56Oh, yeah.
06:57Oh, my God.
06:58Wow.
07:07It's just so flat here, isn't it?
07:09Yeah, I think most of this would have been underwater if it wasn't for the canals.
07:16Okay, let's see what this crazy local sport is all about.
07:18All will be revealed in a minute.
07:20In a minute.
07:21In a minute, yeah.
07:28Hello.
07:29Hi.
07:30How are you?
07:31I'm Marika.
07:32Marika, lucky to see you.
07:33I didn't realise it was proper set up.
07:35Wow.
07:36Oh, look at that.
07:37Oh, my God.
07:38Oh, my God.
07:39Oh, it's so loud.
07:40Oh, it's so loud.
07:41Oh, it's so loud.
07:42Oh, it's so loud.
07:44The furthest gem in the whole world is 22 metres and 21 centimetres.
07:52Oh!
07:53And what's holding the pole in the bottom?
07:55Rocks.
07:56Little rocks.
07:57I love that it's just unique to this part of the world, isn't it?
08:00Like, you don't see this anywhere else, do you?
08:02I've never seen it anywhere else.
08:03It must have come from the necessity of getting over the canals.
08:06Well, from field to field, I suppose.
08:08Yeah.
08:09Go and get that thing over there.
08:10Oh, OK.
08:15Look, this young girl here.
08:16Look.
08:17Watch, watch, watch, watch.
08:19It's so mad, eh?
08:20I bet you that moment where you have to...
08:22There's a point of no return, you know, where you reach out.
08:24She looks like she's hurt her leg.
08:26Or she's strapped it anyway.
08:28That's a bicycle tire.
08:29Oh, for grip?
08:30Yeah.
08:31Oh, for grip.
08:32I thought she'd hurt her stuff.
08:33They also use a spray for more grip.
08:35Oh, so sticky, sticky on your hands.
08:37Here we go.
08:38There's a go.
08:39There's a go.
08:40Sometimes they fall in the water.
08:41Oh.
08:42Does that one hit the edge?
08:43It's hitting the edge, you think?
08:44Look, there's foam in it.
08:45Oh, there's foam.
08:46Yeah.
08:47I don't know when Charlie's...
08:48When are you doing your jump?
08:49My do...
08:50Oh, he's in!
08:53He's in!
08:54Oh, that's cold.
08:55That is motivation to get it right now.
08:57Yeah, definitely.
08:58How do you start?
08:59What's the first thing you do?
09:00Oh, that's cold.
09:01That is motivation to get it right now.
09:02Yeah, definitely.
09:06How do you start?
09:07What's the first thing you do?
09:08What's the...
09:09When I was little kid, I was climbing trees.
09:12Yeah.
09:13Is that the first thing?
09:14Just to climb a pole?
09:15Yeah.
09:16And then to do it when it's moving over water?
09:18Yeah.
09:19So he's got first place?
09:20Yeah.
09:21Top man!
09:22He got first place!
09:23Nice.
09:24Good man, that's great!
09:35What an opportunity, eh?
09:36To be able to, you know, explore a backyard.
09:40You know, all you have to do is jump on a boat and...
09:43You've got the whole of Europe.
09:45To explore!
09:46Yeah, absolutely.
09:51It was quite amazing to watch these young people throw themselves at a pole and climb super high up it.
09:56And just something you wouldn't see anywhere else.
10:04There's the smell of grass and the evening light.
10:07It's after nine o'clock, look!
10:10Oh, yeah.
10:11Mmm!
10:12Woo!
10:13I love that about bikes, that you can smell everything.
10:15It becomes another sensual experience as you ride along.
10:25Well, what a spot.
10:27What an amazing place to camp.
10:37How are you?
10:38My name is Ewan.
10:39And this is my friend Charlie over here.
10:40Nice to meet you.
10:41Nice to meet you.
10:42This is beautiful.
10:43Yes, yes, yes.
10:44It's the first time I've been so close to a windmill in my whole life.
10:47You mean it?
10:48I'm the miller on this mill.
10:49Oh, yeah.
10:50I volunteer.
10:51I, uh, I, uh, used, I work with this mill.
10:54Wow.
10:55Yeah.
10:56When the water is too high, then have it to drain.
10:58Oh, so you're pumping the water.
11:00Yes, yes.
11:01And you're still working today.
11:02Yes.
11:03Yes.
11:04Can we see inside?
11:05Yes, come in.
11:06You're never before in a mill?
11:11No.
11:12In a mill.
11:13No.
11:14When was it built?
11:15Uh, 1877.
11:16Wow.
11:17Now you can, uh, look up there.
11:18I want you, this is, this is also the way you have to go downstairs.
11:27Look at the edge of the wing.
11:32It's like an aeroplane wing.
11:34Look at that.
11:35That's amazing.
11:36I am retired and it's my hobby.
11:37This is the best way to spend your time.
11:38Ah, nice.
11:39That's nice.
11:40Well, I think now we can get our tent up and we can, uh, spend the night.
11:42I mean, you've got a ground sheet.
11:43I don't, I'm not sure I have a ground sheet.
11:44Oh, that's not right.
11:45I don't know how good this tent's going to be when we get a bit colder.
11:48I'm sort of thinking this is quite summery, this, this, this tent.
11:50Oh, hello.
11:51Oh, hello.
11:52I'm a bagpiper.
11:53Nothing to me, this.
11:54This is just all the time.
11:55I don't know how good this tent is going to be when we get a bit colder.
11:57I don't know how good this tent is going to be when we get a bit colder.
12:02I'm sort of thinking this is quite summery, this, this, this tent.
12:05Oh, hello.
12:07I'm a bagpiper.
12:14Nothing to me, this.
12:19This is just a, like, half a, three, four set.
12:22Ooh, that really won't blow.
12:27That's it.
12:28Look at that.
12:29That's good, isn't it?
12:49Sorry for my morning appearance.
12:55I have to say it was quite toasty in my sleeping bag, which I was relieved about because I didn't know.
13:02But what a place to wake up.
13:04Look up there.
13:06Right underneath the old windmill.
13:08Spectacular.
13:10Spectacular.
13:11Spectacular.
13:12No words in the vernacular.
13:13No words in the vernacular.
13:15That was a tough old sleep, that was.
13:18It's always difficult, I mean, the first time.
13:21That you sleep in camping.
13:23When you haven't done it for a long time, you know.
13:29I was toasty in my bag, I'm so sorry.
13:33It's my mistake of just not beaming to bed properly.
13:36Yeah.
13:37You know?
13:38Yeah.
13:39And it was quite cold.
13:40Oh, no, it was cold last night.
13:41Yeah, it was cold when we arrived.
13:42Yeah, it was properly cold.
13:44But I'm looking forward to this ride today, Charlie.
13:46Yeah.
13:47After yesterday, we sort of got into the rhythm of it a little bit, didn't we?
13:53It's not really very attractive.
13:56It's like a gorilla's arse.
13:58But, like, really close to my mouth all day long.
14:01You know what I mean?
14:02That feeling.
14:07My bike needs a little waking up.
14:09She's not quite ready for the day until she's, like me, had a couple of coffees.
14:13You lead on, Charlie.
14:15We're going to your gaff today.
14:24That was a beautiful campsite.
14:26I kind of made a lot of mistakes.
14:28I needed to be wearing clothes when I go to sleep next time.
14:33Today, we're crossing the border into Germany,
14:35heading for the town of Wesselboren, where my late mum was born.
14:39Oh, God, it's such a difference when the sun is out.
14:46Oh, yeah.
14:48Do you think we're in Germany, Charlie?
14:51I don't know.
14:52We're going a lot faster.
14:53Well, they are.
14:54I've always ridden old motorbikes.
14:59And this one is a 1974 Californian police bike.
15:03Two of them!
15:04No!
15:05I don't want to be arrested!
15:06I haven't done anything!
15:08What kind of time is it, Charlie?
15:09Is it 12 or is it 11?
15:10It's 12 o'clock.
15:11Should we do a lunch?
15:12Should we keep an eye out for somewhere that looks nice?
15:13Yeah.
15:14I don't want to be arrested!
15:15I haven't done anything!
15:17What kind of time is it, Charlie?
15:30Is it 12 or is it 11?
15:32It's 12 o'clock.
15:33Should we do a lunch?
15:34Should we keep an eye out for somewhere that looks nice?
15:37Yeah, I think so.
15:39Oh, hang on.
15:40This looks promising.
15:42Oh, oh, oh, oh!
15:44Oh, hello.
15:45Hello.
15:46There's a little plush and fash and a sneaky swagger over here.
15:51Very nicely done, Charlie.
15:53I just wanted to get as close as possible to the chips.
15:57I was hoping that might be a coffee truck.
16:00It looks like an alcohol truck.
16:04Hang on.
16:05What's this?
16:06Wait a minute.
16:07What?
16:08Hang on.
16:09What's that all about?
16:11Two days in and we're already on our second marching band.
16:15Look at that.
16:20Woo-hoo!
16:21Woo-hoo!
16:22Woo-hoo!
16:25What's it?
16:26What is it?
16:27It's like an anniversary or something?
16:28It's like shooting.
16:29Well, basically every year they are shooting out who is the shooting king.
16:33That's cool.
16:34Good timing.
16:35Hello.
16:36Good to see you.
16:37How are you?
16:38Nice to meet you.
16:39So you're the shooting champion?
16:40It's a champion.
16:41Okay.
16:42What does this mean?
16:43Achtung Schützenfest.
16:44It's a drunk shooter.
16:45It's a drunk.
16:46It's a drunk.
16:47Thanks.
16:48And you drink, you go.
16:49I see.
16:50Day drinking is very normal around here.
16:51Yeah.
16:52They all just sit down, shoot a bit and then go and have a drink.
16:57Drink and shoot.
16:58Good mixture.
16:59Okay.
17:00Oh, no, no, no, no, no, no.
17:01Coffee as is, can't you?
17:02Yeah.
17:03And do you have a drink?
17:04No, no, no, no, no.
17:05Coffee as is, can't.
17:06They all just sit down, shoot a bit and then go and have a drink.
17:09Drink and shoot.
17:11Good mixture.
17:12Okay.
17:13Yesterday we had a big big big party.
17:18Mm.
17:19Party is so great, as we've never had.
17:22Oh, really?
17:23Yes.
17:24And we love it.
17:26That's great.
17:27That's great. Okay. Here we go. We're gonna have a go. That's a long way. Charlie you go first
17:33And then load it
17:36Okay, out
17:38Okay, now you're a slight disadvantage because you haven't been drinking for three days
17:46What's the feeling? I don't know but oh
17:49Oh
17:53It's yours. Oh, thank you. Thank you. Thank you. So that that's a solid four basically, okay
18:01Yes, sir
18:06No, you got it
18:09Missed it okay pretty darn good. That is thank you very much. So it was a nice chance that we came across your
18:16Party and I was nice to see that you're all having such great time. Thank you. Cheers. Thank you
18:21Yes, thank you very much
18:33That was a very cool setup they had there wasn't it yeah that target practicing was like in the movies
18:39I can't imagine having one attached to a bar though
18:43It seems like a disaster waiting to happen, but I suppose it's been that way forever. Yeah, I've never seen so many drunk people
18:55We're nearly at my mom's hometown now just a very right away. Oh wow there it is
19:04This takes me right back to my childhood when we used to visit the German side of my family
19:13My mum passed away a few years ago and we were very close so visiting the place where she grew up and spent a lot of her time is very special to me
19:23We're meeting my mother's brothers children forest and Eureka and we're going to stay with them and then show you and where mum came from and where I went as a kid
19:32How often would you come here not hugely often, but when we did come it was real kind of
19:39Jam-packed yeah holiday time holiday time. Yeah, exactly cousins
19:44Always have such a great time with cousins
19:47Vessel boardin
19:49We're here
19:51Gosh, it's been a very long time since I've been here. Oh
19:55Oh
19:57My god everybody is here
20:00Hello, hello, hello
20:05Look how funny hello
20:07Good to see you. Nice to meet you. How are you? Hi Boris. You and nice to meet you. How are you?
20:16So this is all my mother's family
20:19All these wonderful people that I grew up with
20:23They all looked after me. I haven't seen this one for such a long time. It's it's quite extraordinary
20:30And this is yours. This is yours. Oh my gosh. Whoa
20:35Charlie, let's do the next one in this. Yeah, it's amazing, isn't it? You know what would be good about it is when you would drive
20:42I could have a nap. Yeah
20:45We've got to take this for a quick spin
20:47Oh
20:50Like that
20:53So like clockwork. Did you feel it?
20:55Okay, just that

22:42Amazing thoughts on the bike that are not being captured. So i'm going full flip-top
22:48I'm listening to half of them. No, you don't hear half of them or at least you don't seem to hear half of them
22:56This is uncle yana's tractor
22:58He'd go down to the supermarket where his farm used to be where my mum's little house used to be
23:03Um, and you check the the beers and then he would go and visit friends on the way home
23:08We're just gonna have a quick look around town now and see where my mum lived the last parts of her years
23:14She had a beautiful little house here
23:19Okay, let's do it
23:23This is how i remember my uncle yana
23:25But i don't remember that i don't remember the fumes
23:28Claps of smoke yeah, i don't remember that well, maybe as a kid. I thought wow smoke
23:37The tractor is making me feel much better about the noise my bike makes
23:44This was mum's little house this one here on the corner
23:47It's tiny inside it looks bigger outside because upstairs and it's like super steep staircase going up to the top really really steep
23:55And there's a pretty little garden in the back
23:57There you go
24:10See you later thank you i really really really enjoyed it so thank you thank you

25:42It's just so different already we've come into denmark and the landscape's changed it's not so flat anymore

26:01explore oh this is beautiful this is beautiful yeah really really nice
26:12oh
26:19wow that was awesome good bridge action
26:22i think we'll cross a lot of them because denmark is made up of hundreds of islands
26:26oh wow
26:29i just love seeing it change the landscape as you go along it's brilliant
26:33well that's what's so lovely about sitting on a motorcycle

27:34oh
27:53okay
28:02Oh, it's bad on the feet.
28:21Now I don't have to wash these undies.
28:23That is as good as a sort of launder, isn't it?
28:27Remember we almost got arrested in Egypt?
28:29We were nudies swimming and the military came along.
28:32They were really angry.
28:33They were angry.
28:35It's a military beach, so the military guys came running on it
28:38because two white people are naked in the beach of the military.
28:43Americans are invading us naked.
28:47I mean, you know, it was like, OK, now get in now,
28:51can I frolic together, OK, so I can understand it.
28:55Dunk him under, dunk him.
28:58All right, guys, we'll get the cameras, in you go.
29:02OK, Charlie.
29:07Let's do it.
29:12That was lovely, Duran.
29:14Nice idea.
29:14I know that was awesome.
29:15It was a little colder than I expected.
29:18I couldn't bring myself to put my head under water.
29:24OK, let's find our bed for the night.
29:26It's a bit of an upgrade from camping.
29:37It's so nimble, this bike.
29:39I have to say, it feels really easy to chuck about.
29:43Yeah.
29:43Poppies.
29:45Wow, beautiful poppy field.
29:47Holy moly.
29:48Look at that.
29:50Spectacular.
29:51Wow.
29:52Oh, here we go.
29:53Left here.
29:54This is it here?
29:56This is it.
29:57Hotel slot.
29:59This is a very, very, very grand entrance to a hotel.
30:03Bloody Laura.
30:06Wow.
30:07Oh, yeah.
30:09Goodness me, it looks amazing, isn't it?
30:11Just bonkers.
30:13Good place for a horror film.
30:16It could be quite spooky.
30:18Shall we have a bit of a wander around?
30:20Oh, my God.
30:23Yes, a staircase.
30:26Holy moly.
30:29Quite stunning, isn't it?
30:30Are we?
30:32Look at this one.
30:34It's lovely with this light as well.
30:36Yeah, beautiful.
30:37And that ceiling.
30:38What's through here?
30:48Oh, my God.
30:49It goes on and on.
30:50That's for the real brave of heart.
30:53Oh, Michelle, I got the collywobbles just then.
30:55I did get the collywobbles.
30:56Incredible property.
30:59Hello.
30:59Look at that view.
31:02Oh, my God, it's lovely.
31:03Look at that avenue of trees for the drive approach.
31:07It's our first day in Denmark.
31:08It felt pretty good getting here.
31:10The landscape changes.
31:11It starts sort of rolling hills,
31:13and you don't see as far anymore,
31:15because, like, when there's all those flatlands in Holland
31:18and northern Germany,
31:19you could just see for miles, couldn't you?
31:20That's what I like, that rolling hill stuff.
31:23And then riding through those, like, tree-lined roads.
31:25Beautiful.
31:25We've got a new in-earphone,
31:30and see if this new system works okay.
31:37See if he's on the mesh, Charlie, next door.
31:43Oh, it opens out.
31:45Well, hello.
31:45Let's check to see if you've done your helmet.
31:47No, not yet.
31:48Oh.
31:49What?
31:49I've done that.
31:50Oh, it doesn't work.
31:51I was going to come play with you.
31:52Oh.
31:54Channel 3.
31:56Hi.
31:56Hello.
31:57Oh, there you are.
31:58Oh, hello.
31:59Yeah.
32:00Yes.
32:02Disvidanias.
32:02That's pretty good, isn't it?
32:04Yeah.
32:05That's really good.
32:06I like it.
32:07What a very strange couple of guys we are, aren't we?
32:10Chatting away in a big haunted castle.
32:14Yeah.
32:14With our helmets on.
32:15All right, then, mate.
32:16All right, mate.
32:16Well, listen, we'll see you in the morning.
32:18It's really nice to see you.
32:19Yeah.
32:20And I'll see you later.
32:26Sleep well, Charlie.
32:27Yeah, sleep well, mate.
32:29We can actually hear each other.
32:31Through the wall.
32:31Through the wall.
32:32I mean, we just sleep in our helmets and we just don't need to stop chatting to each other all night.
32:37I just hear your breathing as I go to sleep.
32:39Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha.
32:46Okay, let's do it.
32:52All right, here we go.
32:53Another day.
32:56I feel like my bike is so noisy.
32:58It's just a bit quieter.
32:59We're headed east on the scenic route.
33:11Country roads, bridges and ferry crossings to eventually reach the island of Moon, famous for its beautiful landscape.
33:18And on the way, a Danish speciality for lunch.
33:22Oh, yeah, this guy, look.
33:27That could have been a graffiti artist just pretending to be a roads guy.
33:31Here we are at the smokehouse.
33:39Oh, smells amazing.
33:41Hello.
33:41Hi, me.
33:42Lena, nice to meet you.
33:43Is this all smoked locally?
33:45Yeah, we smoke here.
33:46Oh, here?
33:46Yeah, we have our smokehouse, so we smoke every day, yeah.
33:50Oh, fantastic.
33:50Is it something we can see, the smokehouse?
33:52Can we have a quick look?
33:53This way?
33:54Come on.
33:55Oh, how cool.
33:56What's your pub?
33:57Oh, my gosh.
33:58Oh, this is the smokehouse.
33:59Okay, when did the fish go in here?
34:01How long ago?
34:03Seven o'clock.
34:04Oh, this morning, okay.
34:05Yeah, yeah.
34:06The whole oven is full, and then we smoke three, four times every day.
34:12It's a little bit noisy, but I hope it's okay.
34:14Are you ready?
34:15Yeah, yeah, yeah.
34:16Oh.
34:17Oh, my gosh.
34:19Wow.
34:19That smells amazing.
34:21And what do you smoke it in?
34:23It's some wood.
34:24Wood?
34:24Yeah.
34:25Any particular kind of wood, or?
34:27No, I cannot tell you.
34:29Sorry.
34:29Oh, a secret.
34:30That's a secret.
34:31Oh, okay, of course.
34:33Beautiful.
34:34Well, we can't wait to try it.
34:35Yeah.
34:35Yeah.
34:36Now it's lunchtime.
34:37Okay, now it's lunchtime, yeah.
34:39Thank you so much.
34:40You're welcome.
34:40Oh, I can't wait.
34:44I've got my fork.
34:46I just moved up with my fork.
34:50Oh, my golly, gosh, look at this.
34:52Oh, the shrimps.
34:54Oh.
34:55Thank you so much.
34:56The lovely rye bread.
34:58Oh.
34:58Can you have nice and props?
35:00Yes, we can cook already.
35:01Thank you very much.
35:02Oh, my God.
35:03Bon appetit, Charlie.
35:05Oh.
35:07Wow.
35:07Oh, my God.
35:08It smelled so delicious.
35:10It's so delicious.
35:12That's it.
35:13Just leave me here, guys.
35:15Enjoy the rest of the trip.
35:17It's been really great fun, but I'm going to stay here.
35:20Sorry.
35:24Oh, Ewan, you've got a bit of bird poop on here.
35:27Let me clean it up for you.
35:28Thanks, Charlie.
35:30That's when you know you've got a really good friend
35:32when he wipes the poop off your jacket.
35:35Cool.
35:36Thanks, Charlie.
35:37That's very funny.
35:38Well, it's very good luck, apparently.
35:40It's very good luck.
35:42I don't know who came up with that nonsense.
35:44Yeah, somebody who just got pooped on, I suppose.
35:47OK.
35:48Off we go.
35:55Oh, well, that was...
35:57That was lovely.
35:58Very, very, very delicious.
36:01I'm burping up smoked fish all the time now,
36:04just so you know.
36:04Oh.
36:05Ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha.
36:08I love all these bridges connecting all these islands.
36:34It's great, isn't it?
36:37Beautiful right here.
36:39I'm having such a good time today.
36:41Just loving it.
36:41Loving it.
36:43Loving it.
36:45Wow, that was awesome.
36:46Good bridge action.
36:47What timing.
36:58I don't think the outer moon is that far now.
37:03Considering this is a 45-minute ferry,
37:06you know, the food is beautiful.
37:07Look.
37:08I don't want to diss Britain,
37:09but on a train in Britain, you know,
37:11you could be on a nine-hour train
37:12and you don't get food or anything like that.
37:14Sorry, Britain.
37:15Wow, that's hot.
37:17That's hot.
37:17Where should we sit, guys?
37:19OK, it's the quiet cat.
37:20Look, Clara, it's the quiet cat.
37:22Oh, shh.
37:24Let's not go there.
37:26There you go.
37:26What are you doing listening to, Charlie?
37:39I'm listening to Kylie Renaud.
37:42Do you remember when you introduced me to her
37:44in Moulin Rouge?
37:46Oh, yeah.
37:47We came out of the bathroom
37:49and you introduced me to Kylie and Nicole.
37:51And you said, this is Charlie.
37:53And then you wandered off.
37:54And they were looking at me
37:56as if to say something, you know.
37:58And this is what I said.
37:59I said,
38:00And then I walked off.
38:03That was my chance.
38:09Mate, I think we're here, guys.
38:11The island of Moulin.
38:17Here we are.
38:18Look at the sea.
38:19Look at this.
38:20It's absolutely gorgeous, isn't it?
38:22Beautiful, yeah?
38:24This little island is famous
38:26for its nature reserve
38:27and its white chalk cliffs.
38:29We're meeting a bar owner
38:31who'll take us out to see them on his boat.
38:35My bike is shaking my hands
38:37and feet to bits today.
38:39I don't know what's up with her.
38:42Come on, baby.
38:43Come on.
38:44There you go.
38:44Wow, look at this.
39:01Welcome, you guys.
39:02Hello.
39:03How are you?
39:04I'm Ewan.
39:05My name is Ole.
39:06Nice to meet you, Ole.
39:07This is Charlie.
39:08Hi, I'm Margot.
39:08Hi, Margot.
39:09Nice to see you.
39:10Nice bikes.
39:11Yeah, old.
39:12Yeah, it should be like that.
39:14So what kind of seamanship did you do?
39:17I was racing sailing boats.
39:18Oh, you were a racer.
39:19Okay.
39:20Across the Pacific,
39:21across the Atlantic many times,
39:22North Atlantic.
39:23But one day you have to come home.
39:25Yes.
39:25Because if you're staying out there too long,
39:28you never find what you're looking for.
39:30Because you have to find it at home.
39:31Yeah, for sure.
39:33And what is this bar?
39:34The name of the bar is Club Heston
39:36and it means hold your horse.
39:37Hold your horse.
39:38Yeah, I'll take it.
39:39That's the name.
39:40Nice.
39:41Cool.
39:41You see a lot of the names here?
39:43Yeah.
39:43So if you come on a horse,
39:44you're allowed to write the name on the horse.
39:46Oh, yeah, yeah.
39:47And you get a free drink.
39:48And if you come on an old motorbike, for instance?
39:50Oh, yeah.
39:50It helps.
39:51Because I saw the bike.
39:52It helps.
39:53That's it.
39:53Yeah.
39:53That looked nice.
39:55You're qualified.
39:56Yeah.
39:56To be allowed to write your name.
39:58Okay, good.
39:58Okay.
40:00I feel terribly under pressure.
40:03That's a nice drawing.
40:04Nice.
40:04Oh, my gosh.
40:14Hello.
40:15Hiya.
40:16Hello.
40:16That is hilarious.
40:20Excuse me?
40:21There, darling.
40:22Oh, oh.
40:24Okay, so let's enjoy that one back first.
40:28There you go, my darling.
40:30Can you have a look for a second?
40:31There we go.
40:32So is this a common thing to come here?
40:36It is, yeah, because we're good friends with Ole,
40:39and we ride together often.
40:40So, and then it's just, it came naturally.
40:43Of course, I should go inside.
40:45Of course, but why not?
40:46I'm guessing there's good riding around here.
40:48Amazing.
40:49Amazing.
40:49They are almost bulletproof,
40:51so we go near the edge of the cliffs as well,
40:53so it's really amazing to just, yeah.
40:55He doesn't want to say anything.
40:56He doesn't want to say anything.
40:57I'm sorry, darling.
40:58I don't have any.
40:58I don't have any.
40:59No, no more.
41:00I can't have my fingers.
41:01Those are, it's nice.
41:04What he really wants is the gin.
41:06That's what he really wants, you know?
41:17Those horses coming into the bar was just hilarious,
41:20as we're feeding them apples and buying them a drink.
41:23Okay, so we're on the way to meet Ole,
41:30who we met in the bar with the horses.
41:33Then we're going to go out in Ole's boat,
41:36take a look at these cliffs on this island of Moon.
41:41It's beautiful down here, absolutely gorgeous.
41:44I like this little island.
41:45It's cool, isn't it, Moon?
41:47It's a nice name.
41:48Poor Ivor.
42:06Poor Ivor.
42:08Ivor, are you okay?
42:10You're going to get hypothermia standing there.
42:13Oh, he's going in.
42:14Oh, my God. That's over and above.
42:21Have you got it?
42:22Yep.
42:25OK, please speak about that.
42:26The conditions are a little bit rough,
42:28so we're just trying to make sure that we can get the boat on.
42:35Do you think this would be a bad time to ask where the coffee is?
42:44OK. Well, the captain's in. Well done.
42:48Well done, guys. Thank you.
42:51The cliffs should be just around this corner.
43:03Wow, it's so pretty. My gosh.
43:12Oh, look at it.
43:14Amazing.
43:15All what you see was once a tropical seabed.
43:1810,000 years ago,
43:20ice came like a glacier and took the seabed
43:26and put it up like this.
43:28So all the white stuff is algae from the sea, lying, falling down.
43:32So if you put your hand on the wall, it's 5,000 years.
43:38It's incredible.
43:39That this was all the bottom of the sea, wasn't it? Tropical.
43:45Amazing.
43:51Good?
43:52Yeah.
43:53Oh, it's really nice.
43:54Oh, it's really nice.
43:55Also, I can taste, um, transmission oil from my hand.
44:01See you, Oola.
44:03Take care.
44:04Bit of a dude, really, isn't he?
44:05Yeah.
44:10What a lovely morning.
44:11It was fantastic getting down to the beach.
44:13What a place.
44:14What a place.
44:15It's so beautiful down here.
44:18I think we'll be in Copenhagen tonight.
44:21Let's do it.
44:22Yee-haw, let's go.
44:23Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, shit. You okay?
44:44Oh, man, are you okay?
44:46Oh, mate, that's horrible.
44:48Ow!
44:51Oh!
45:18Oh!
45:48Oh!
