00:00What song makes you laugh? There's so many great 90s country songs that just use so many different, you know, paintbrushes to paint with.
00:08They write stuff back, they wrote stuff back then that nobody's writing now.
00:11And there's a great song by Mark Chestnut called Bubba Shot the Jukebox.
00:14And not only is it just hilarious and funny, but it's so well written.
00:18I'd also say not only is one of my songs that makes me laugh, it's also one of the songs that makes you just super appreciate Nashville songwriting.
00:25Because for these guys to come in to work one day to write a song and some guy goes, I got an idea for a song.
00:32It's called Bubba Shot the Jukebox last night.
00:34You know, and these guys go, yeah, I love it, let's write it.
00:37And just to write it so well in a way that's so funny, but also like just such a great story from beginning to end.
00:43And not only is it a funny song, it's a perfect example, perfect example like some of the best songwriting in Nashville looks like.
00:49One song I wish I'd written.
00:51And whenever I hear Miranda Lambert's The House That Built Me, I think that's what, that's a song I wish I'd written and a song I never could write.
01:01Because it's just so well written.
01:02Tom Douglas song.
01:05That's just, it's a beautiful song.
01:07I think so many people can relate to, you know, having a dog buried under the tree and going back by that house that someone else is living in now.
01:15Or sadly enough, my house that I grew up in has been torn down and replaced with something else.
01:20Took my kids to go see my childhood house one time, there's just a big dirt, strip of brown dirt, nothing left.
01:27And then they built some huge house on it.
01:29But yeah, I just think that song is so well written and I wish I'd written The House That Built Me by Miranda Lambert.
01:34You know, grew up in Arizona, my dad loved country music.
01:37We drove around the car just listening to it, just listening to radio.
01:39You know, Rainy Travis was, you know, someone who was big on the radio back then and one of his songs on the other hand, just a great Rainy Travis song, great country song, you know, wow.
01:51About, you know, on the one hand we could be hanging out, but on the other hand, there's a golden band, you know, being married.
01:58Just straight up great country music by one of the greatest country singers of all time.
02:03It reminds me of driving around with my dad in Arizona growing up.
02:06What song do I see in the car when nobody's listening?
02:08You know, my car now, you know, I grew up, my dad had control of the radio.
02:13Now my kids have control of the radio, so it's whatever they're playing.
02:16When I'm driving around with my daughter, I'll probably sing along Top My Lungs to a Noah Kahn song.
02:21It's my son Knox.
02:22It's probably some rap song.
02:25It might be an NF song when we're listening to the clean rap.
02:30And it's my song, my daughter Jordan, I have a, on my XM radio, I have the Broadway station.
02:35So I might be singing along the top of my lungs to a Dear Evan Hansen song.
