Alexander-Arnold says Xabi Alonso was an idol of his growing up and that he copied the Spaniard's technique
Transcript
00:00I grew up, you know, a Liverpool fan, being able to see Istanbul with the manager now,
00:07doing amazing things there in part of an incredible final.
00:11And yeah, I've spoke to him, we've spoke a little bit.
00:14It's good to have that communication, it's also good to speak to him.
00:19I told him that he was a big idol of mine growing up,
00:22so to be able to work with him now is a dream come true for me.
00:25And someone who, you know, probably impacted my game a lot growing up,
00:32seeing him pass a ball, I explained this to him as well,
00:34watching him pass a ball, seeing it influenced me to be able to go and train harder at that,
00:40and I was able to speak to him about that.
00:42Of course, we haven't formally met yet, haven't been able to have a proper chat,
00:46I'm sure, over the next few days, weeks, we'll be able to speak properly
00:50and be able to talk about how it looks, what you expect from me.
00:54It's not just me who's new here, he's a new manager,
00:58he's got to get his ideas across to the whole team,
01:00so it might take some time, but he's shown how amazing he is,
01:06managerial-wise and as a player,
01:08so his knowledge of football is there in abundance, and I'm excited.
01:13I'll be a sponge around him, trying to soak up all the information that I can and learn from him.
