00:00What is the future home of Kevin Durant?
00:02KD is 36 years old.
00:04He will turn 37 in September for what will be his 18th season in the association.
00:10And DRS's business partner, Rich Kleiman, and the Phoenix Suns already exploring some
00:16of those potential trade options.
00:18The teams that are listed there from Sham Sharania were basically all the teams that
00:23our Canadian friends of the FanDuel Sportsbook had a graphic for earlier in the week.
00:28Spurs, Rockets, Knicks, all of that stuff included right there.
00:34What do you make of Kevin Durant's future in the NBA this summer?
00:38It'll be interesting to see where he goes, but also what's the price point for these
00:41franchises?
00:41Like, again, you are not getting 27-year-old Kevin Durant, who's going to be like your
00:45stonewall piece here for the next 10 years.
00:48You might get a good season or two where he can still play at a high level, but there's
00:51two choices you need to make.
00:53Because some of the teams I look at, like the Minnesota Timberwolves, they're way up
00:56there in salary cap.
00:57So I don't know if they're going to want to take on a Kevin Durant when their ownership
00:59group basically said, we're coming in here because we spend too much money.
01:03We're not a huge market team.
01:04We got to get back to playability where we can be a profitable franchise on year to
01:07year.
01:08I don't think that's going to make sense dollars-wise.
01:10But it makes sense for the team.
01:11Like, okay, we're in that window.
01:12We think we can win.
01:13Maybe Kevin Durant can help us for a year or two.
01:15The other team that I think makes some sense, too, would be the New York Knicks.
01:18That same framework, though, right?
01:20We have a veteran team, and we're ready to win now.
01:22A one- to two-year window with Kevin Durant, maybe it makes some sense.
01:25The teams I don't think make any sense are, why would he go to the Spurs?
01:28Why would he go to Houston?
01:29Like, you're building something with those franchises based on young basketball talent,
01:33and you want them to learn to go over the ebbs and flows that by the time they're in
01:36their absolute prime, they're ready to win championships for years in advance.
01:40Why would you blow any of that up?
01:41Because Kevin Durant is not coming in to be like, hey, you know what?
01:44I'm going to teach these guys the rope.
01:45Kevin Durant's coming in like, yeah, you guys are young.
01:47It's my basketball at the end of the game.
01:49Just make sure I get that, and we'll see what happens here.
01:50And also, from the simple fact that I look at Kevin Durant for what he did, saying,
01:54I can't win in Oklahoma City, which I didn't mind.
01:57I'm going to go to Golden State.
01:57I want to win championships, and he did.
01:59But then to get mad at Golden State, like, I'm not getting enough attention here.
02:02Let me get out of here and show you.
02:04I'll go to my own franchise, and we'll dominate.
02:06That's not anything since he left Golden State at this point.
02:08So buy your beware on Kevin Durant.
