Hundreds of scooters gathered in Burnley for a vibrant meet-up organised by the Lancashire Scooter Alliance.

00:00This is an annual event, what we have in conjunction with Lancashire Alliance Scooter Club.

00:05It's our first event, and we chose it about seven months ago.

00:11And the guy who runs Lancashire Alliance, Keith, great lad, he asked us for a date and we chose this seven months back.

00:19And it's turned out to be a fantastic day, probably one of the warmest days of the year so far.

00:24So we decided to have it, and then obviously we chose this location because it was a good venue.

00:30Some food coming on very shortly now, but obviously the weather's helped massively tonight.

00:34And it's a great location, obviously with the beer garden and everything else at the back here.

00:39But we're just delighted, we've just had a scooter ride in from Sycamore Farm actually.

00:43Some about nearly 100 scooters coming from Sycamore Farm.

00:46And it's been fantastic to be fair lad, you know, and it's all organised events all the way through, nicely marshaled.

00:52So everything's come through really nicely, and we all rode up in sequence there.

00:58And it's coming absolutely fantastic, and I come to wish for a better day, really, to be fair.

01:03We're only in Bendel Scooter Club, formed in 1974.

01:10One at Finder members is just in here, just Earl Waddington, quite a few others, Dicky Lorde, Terry Burns.

01:18There were a lot of original members who met from Baltic Fleet in 1974.

01:24And that was the original meeting place.

01:26And then it's just expanded from there.

01:29And it's always been a really, really popular club, really strong club as well.

01:33And I got involved in 1985, and I've always been in possession of a scooter ever since.

01:38And I love it, and now I've got five.

01:40So it's a great feeling.

01:43It's a great feeling.

01:44It's something they are like, you know what I mean?

01:46The attraction with scooters is, you know, you can do a lot to a scooter, customising.

01:52Lambrettas, Vespas, you know, you can do a hell of a lot to them, you know, customising.

01:58Some people spend a hell of a lot of money on them.

02:01It is great, really, to be fair, but we go on a lot of national runs, a lot of local runs.

02:06It's great when people get together.

02:08The Ribble Valley Scooter Run in September, that's a colossal, that's a colossal turnout is that.

02:14It's a big weekend event.

02:16It's great to meet different groups and different people, and we all, everybody's into it together.

02:20So it's a really, really fantastic family, really, to be fair.

02:24So Lancashire Alliance, they've actually, they choose, so Burnley and Pendle actually chose a date.

02:31So Lancashire Alliance put it on their website that Burnley and Pendle will be hosting on 11th of June,

02:38Erin Hounds in Burnley.

02:39So obviously we got it up and running, organised it, got music on, bit of food on,

02:44and then obviously we put it on social media and so forth, and then obviously everybody knows about it.

02:51And tonight's a terrific turnout, a lot better than we thought it was going to be, to be fair.

02:55So we're really, really pleased with everybody, really pleased.

02:58Obviously we've got people here from Manchester, we've got people here from Blackpool, Preston, Chorley,

03:04sometimes Liverpool, Yorkshire, quite a few Yorkshire lads come over today as well.

03:09You know, we're friends with a lot, a lot of scouter clubs from many, many years ago,

03:14and we've always kept really, really good friends with them.

03:18And, you know, we go to their do's and they come to our do's.

03:23So it's a really, really good, really good gesture by all clubs really tonight.

03:28Absolutely fantastic.
