00:00All these reports came out about all these guys the Knicks tried to, I guess, interview over the past couple days.
00:07So they tried to interview Chris Finch of the Timberwolves. They were told no.
00:11They tried to, I guess, talk to Ime Odoko, the Rockets. They were told no.
00:16And then they also have tried to talk to Jason Kidd for the Mavericks where they were told.
00:20And I think the report actually said it was like an emphatic no, you know, like any difference from a no.
00:25What took so long? What took so long for that to come to fruition?
00:30Now, I'll say this to you, and we said it the day that this happened a week ago, whenever this was.
00:37You know, if you were going to fire him, you would like to think that there was some kind of plan.
00:46Listen, we're going to get rid of this coach that's won us a lot of games and got us in the playoffs
00:49because we think that we're going to absolutely have this guy who's going to put us over the top.
00:54That would be why you would do it.
00:55But this feels like it was done so haphazardly, like they're asking other teams to interview their coaches.
01:04Like, it sounds like, Scotty, they've got no plan and had no plan when they fired this guy a week ago.
01:10Well, I'm not going to sit here and try to pretend like I know what they're going to do because they're so twisted.
01:16But I think at some level, it would behoove them to just hire Mike Malone and get it over with.
01:22I think that, or as I've said a hundred times, like I guess in some capacity that Danny Hurley said he's not interested,
01:33I don't care about Jay Wright.
01:34I'm so done with Jay Wright's, you know, annual and almost semi-annual turning down jobs.
01:42But look, I wonder about, I really do, like I don't believe in this assistant coach grab that they're talking about,
01:54Johnny Bryant, all this other stuff.
01:56I don't understand, like, oh, so I get it.
01:59All the brothers like him.
02:01Well, congratulations.
02:02They don't listen to the players, okay?
02:06They really don't.
02:07They don't listen to fans either.
02:08I mean, this guy has won a championship, and what, he's too mean?
02:13He cusses at players?
02:15They should be so lucky.
02:16They should hire Michael Malone and get it over with.
02:19Or make a full, they obviously aren't making a push toward Danny Hurley, but make a move.
02:25Talk to the kid golden at Florida.
02:27Some people think that this guy who got a $3 million buyout for the pros
02:33and just got a, you know, a gigantic bag of money to stay at Florida,
02:38and they won the national championship.
02:41A lot of people think that from where he's come from, like, wasn't he at, like, NYU at one point?
02:47He was an assistant at NYU, and then he's winning national championships at Florida that he can flat-out coach.
02:54Now, if Billy Donovan can coach at Florida and win titles and then go to the NBA and survive for 15 years,
03:04then why can't this kid golden, okay?
03:06This other stuff of these assistant coaches are ass-mustard to me.
03:11Just terrible.
03:13And you know what they're going to do?
03:13They're going to hire this guy that coach said, Brian, and it's going to be Fizdale all over again.
03:19Like, you know, he gets along with the players.
03:21I even heard one so bad.
03:23How about the one I heard about Brunson's dad?
03:25Like, what is next?
03:26They're going to call me up?
03:28Like, you're going to call Carver High up?
03:30What is next here?
03:32How about Coach?
03:32How about Coach Young?
03:33He's actually a better coach than all of these people.
03:36Why not hire him?
03:37Like, the Knicks are so pathetic.
03:39They had a, I think, a championship-level coach.
03:43A guy that got him to the Eastern Finals.
03:45A guy that won 54% of the games.
03:48A guy that has 57% in his career.
03:51All he's ever done is won.
03:53And it's not good enough for James Dolan.
03:55You know what?
03:56While we're at it, why doesn't Dolan just F-ing coach him if he's so smart?
04:00I think that guy, despite all the money that his companies make, which is, I think, easy money.
04:06They make easy money in New York with the, you know, between the Garden and, you know, the Radio City and everything that they own and the sphere in Las Vegas.
04:17I think he's brilliant at business.
04:19I think he's terrible at owning sports teams.
04:23You know, he's run the Garden and the Rangers and Knicks into the ground.
04:26They don't, I mean, they make money, but they don't win.
04:29They don't win titles.
04:30He's never won a title in 25 years doing anything.
