00:01:29Nowhere's decent. Not with this cargo.
00:01:32I've got a bad feeling.
00:01:34There's enough ammunition here to blow us all the king to come.
00:01:38The men don't sound very happy, Captain.
00:01:41And I don't blame them one bit.
00:01:43But the owner says the cargo is legal.
00:01:47And business is business.
00:01:49Makes you wonder, what kind of a business operates this way?
00:01:52A movie company. What else?
00:01:55Good evening, Mr. and Mrs. America and all the ships at sea.
00:02:01Walter Winter reporting.
00:02:02Let's go to the press.

00:02:12What's the hardest show on earth?
00:02:26Where do you get your bodies moving?
00:02:28C.B. Denham's terrifying, mystifying wild animal funny.
00:02:34Most ferocious, like you see.
00:02:36On the stage or on the stage.
00:02:38C.B. Denham's terrifying, mystifying wild animal funny.
00:02:43He'd be a bush in Africa and he calls the Asian Hills.
00:02:49At the risk to him, of life and myth, he always brings us through.
00:02:54It's the rage of every stage.
00:02:57On the screen and in a cage.
00:03:00C.B. Denham's terrifying, mystifying wild animal funny.
00:03:04C.B. Denham's terrifying, mystifying wild animal funny.

00:03:52I'm telling you, Roscoe,
00:03:54closing this show is the smartest thing I've ever done.

00:04:01Yeah, yeah, right, CB!
00:04:03Hey, fellas, there he is, there he is!
00:04:05Hey, CB, give us a statement, William, what's happening?
00:04:07Hey, what's next, Mr. Denim?
00:04:09How's about a picture, Mr. Denim, huh?
00:04:11I'll never say no to a camera.
00:04:13Hey, Mr. CB, look, give us a lowdown here, give me the scoop.
00:04:16Any truth to the rumor that you're off on a secret safari, huh?
00:04:19And secret is the key word.
00:04:21There's a story out there somewhere where nobody has gone before.
00:04:25A story that begs to be a major motion picture.
00:04:28What about romance, huh?
00:04:29Any romance in your new picture, eh, CB?
00:04:31Yeah, who's gonna be your star?
00:04:33Uh, my star?
00:04:35Um, oh.
00:04:38Who is my star?
00:04:40Roscoe, did we hear from Garbo yet?
00:04:45Oh, yeah, you bet, CB.
00:04:47What did she say?
00:04:48Uh, drop dead.
00:04:50Oh, dread.
00:04:51Star?
00:04:52With my impeccable taste, I might find her right here, in the jungles of Manhattan.
00:04:59An unknown, huh?
00:05:01Then again, I might have a worldwide talent search.
00:05:06That's big, Mr. Denim!
00:05:07Really big!
00:05:08Veggies!
00:05:09Veggies!

00:05:19Ah!

00:05:23Put that back, you little thief.
00:05:29Rusco, at last our search is over.
00:05:33There's our star.
00:05:35Oh, yeah, damn in a dramatic quality, CB.
00:05:38Oh, come on.
00:05:39It's only an apple.
00:05:41Only an apple?
00:05:42You think these things grow on trees?
00:05:45Good evening, my dear.
00:05:47Denim's the name.
00:05:48CB Denim.
00:05:50May I presume that anyone as lovely as yourself might be an actress?
00:05:54She's a thief, is what she is.
00:05:56And she's going to the hoosco.
00:05:59Well, if I'm going to jail anyway, give me that.
00:06:03Roscoe, deal with this ill-tempered scoundrel.
00:06:08Come, my dear.

00:14:46all those explosives and gas bombs and all this monkey god garbage it ain't garbage huh
00:14:54uh what are you trying to say huh on his last ship he shoved off from hobart
00:14:59push west across the great australian bank when you hit the roaring 40s the seas kick up to 60 feet
00:15:09yeah yeah i know i know oh you get pounded to death by the time we reach the indian ocean
00:15:17we're dead in water rudder gone boiler down so we just drifted and drifted south south
00:15:25a whole way south suddenly we're in the middle of the thickest filthiest fog i've ever seen in my
00:15:32whole life eerie i tell you eerie then we see this spooky looking island poking through the mist
00:15:42look just like a skull the captain decides to put a couple of longboats ashore to get help
00:15:53so 30 of my shipmates push off and then nothing
00:15:58what what you mean what he means is nothing gone yeah that's right just disappeared so a captain
00:16:09sends in two more longboats all armed to the teeth and all then what happened
00:16:17gone disappeared off the face of the earth the captain hangs around another day or so
00:16:23finally gets the engines cranked up and pushes off north to darwin sad about the crew but just as we
00:16:33weighed anchor we spied a poor soul struggling through the surf it was larson the sweet we dragged him on
00:16:43board giant monkey guy he raved and ranted about a giant monkey guide about human sacrifices
00:16:51all that jazz then poor guy just up and died on us dead as a mackerel so it ain't some native voodoo
00:17:04well what was it if it wasn't voodoo i don't know but i'll never forget that look of terror in luscious eyes
00:17:21oh
00:17:31what are you doing out there
00:17:34oh you look terrible
00:17:37i'll look a lot worse if the captain doesn't get his grub but
00:17:41right now i'm not feeling so good okay you stay right here i'll get out of your wet weather gear
00:17:51gear and chips and i'll take the food they'll never know the difference especially with chips out
00:18:05of these coordinates uh-huh uh captain is this a typical pacific storm no not typical and this
00:18:15one's getting worse this is just great now we're headed straight into the worst of the weather but
00:18:20that figures when you got a woman on board oh come now old sport do you mean to suggest
00:18:26that pan is responsible for all this well it's certainly more than just bad luck
00:18:30ah ricky and about time it's not ricky tell me jack did you learn some superstitious nonsense at the
00:18:40academy no but i did learn at my grandfather's knee that women don't belong aboard a ship dash it all
00:18:46old man this is the 20th century look all i know is ever since we set eyes on her there's been nothing
00:18:52but trouble first the follow-up at the pier and now the typhoon great you blame all that on a little
00:19:01girl from brooklyn no it's not her fault she's a woman she probably doesn't even know she's a jinx
00:19:09a jinx oh why you arrogant oh i'll show you jinx
00:19:30has that egg on your face jack clam chowder actually and i suppose you two think that was funny
00:19:39oh shall we skip the zoo good idea
00:19:53we're losing the sun
00:20:14here have a care lad that's highly sensitive equipment you're playing with
00:20:23oh my mona lisa my jungle princess what do you think champ my future star what's denim on to a screen test i think
00:20:45oh my god
00:20:48quiet on the set shh now these are test scenes my dear just to get a feel for the character costume
00:20:57setting and such now you are a polynesian princess your kingdom a beautiful magical tropical island

00:22:20the palm trees sway the bongos bay beneath the polly ollie sky
00:22:29and cockatoos in the tall bamboos swoon when i walk by
00:22:37hearts hearts go tingle and bells begin to jingle when dolly does her polly ollie dance the waves rush in
00:22:47and kiss the shore the breezes sigh and beg for more dolly puts a polly ollie in a trance
00:22:58and that's why it's the island of romance
00:23:02she's sweet dolly of a polly ollie sweet sweet dolly of a polly ollie
00:23:12gosh oh golly i'm dolly of a polly i love to swim in polly ollie bay

00:23:25and up above the gulls and doves are chirp chirp chirping just for me
00:23:33while on the sand a tortoise band plays the polly ollie symphony
00:23:41the waves rush in and kiss the shore the breezes sigh and beg for more
00:24:01i put papali ollie in a trance that's why it's the island of romance
00:24:10that's why it's the island of romance
00:24:26all right we've arrived at your pre-designated coordinates and after six weeks at sea my crew
00:24:33is getting edgy what's our final destination here it is hey we're not traveling in uncharted waters
00:24:40uh of course it's uncharted officially at least but that's why this map cost me a thousand dollars
00:24:48a thousand dollars treasure maps are a dime a dozen you sir are a madman yeah
00:24:54yeah that's what they say about all of us all of you there's more of course you've heard the old saying
00:25:02columbus scully layer edison denim madman all i don't know about those other fellas but i'm pretty
00:25:09sure about you denim here's the map of skull island it's a huge volcano with a skull's head at one end
00:25:17and it's directly south of here south no one sails south in these waters there's nothing down there
00:25:25but icebergs and mist not counting the antarctic i won't endanger my ship or my men with such nonsense
00:25:31and less of course they agree all right men now hear this mr denham's got something to say
00:25:43men this voyage is about something special what we're looking for is a mystical island it's a land
00:25:49of the time hey who says we have to listen to this bill i say so uh well uh i suppose there's no harm
00:25:59and listening and from this land comes the legend of the great monkey god a god more spectacular than
00:26:07you can imagine yeah sure oh come on men now see here the whole trip will have been for naught if
00:26:14we don't get to this island yeah well that's all fine and good isn't it but what's in it for us huh
00:26:19yes wait a bit i think i see the stumbling block here i guess you haven't a clue that you're the
00:26:31lucky crew not only of this ship but of the greatest movie production of them all so what oh for i'm about
00:26:40to make a truly epic film that's greater than any film you can recall great deal it's got laughter it's
00:26:49got tears mystery and a film it's majestic but it's intimate as well it's got drama it's got hard it's
00:26:59got terror but it's art swell and climatically it casts a mystic spell it'll make millions so what's in it for
00:27:10us i've stipulated bonuses for all and your names will be emblazoned on the credit
00:27:25think of it gentlemen what a packet bonuses screen credits and my undying gratitude
00:27:33what do you say we're with you cb
00:27:40okay okay kim it's your call against my better judgment helmsman two and a half points south by
00:27:50southwest uh oh what's this oh no oh boy out of nowhere whoa thick as pea soup
00:28:01oh oh can't say a blasted thing
00:28:10all engines half steady as she goes steady
00:28:15aye aye sir
00:28:21that's it it's good to be skull island
00:28:31you and i should go in the first boat roscoe and ann can follow along with jack
00:28:35ann you've taken the girl ashore
00:28:38of course old man we're going to shoot a great deal of film of the island why not have the leading
00:28:45lady on hand but we don't know what we might run into and what if the natives are unfriendly

00:39:22Captain! Captain! Anne isn't on board!
00:39:25What?
00:39:26Me and Chips looked everywhere.
00:39:28Look, look, I found this on deck. It must be hers.
00:39:32You gad. Most of the nations were wearing these.
00:39:35Ha, singly bobs.
00:39:37All engines, stop!
00:39:38Drop anchor!
00:39:41Break out the arms locker!
00:39:43All hands, man the boats!
00:39:45Aye, aye, Captain.
00:39:47What do you want us to do, Mr. Driss?
00:39:49Go...
00:39:51I'll take the first boat. You follow with your gas bolts.
00:39:54Righto, old sport.
00:39:55What do you want us to do, Captain?
00:39:57Get out of the way!
00:39:58I...
00:40:00Aye, sir.
00:40:01Darn right.
00:40:03We gotta do more than just get out of the way.
00:40:06Come on, Chips.
00:40:10Captain! Look!
00:40:13This is worse than a thought.
00:40:15They're diabolical fiends.
00:40:17Lower away!
00:40:18Lower away!
00:40:33Another one!
00:40:42Oi!
00:40:43Shh!
00:40:44Park!
00:40:45Listen!
00:40:46The drums have stopped.
00:40:47Now, what does that mean?
00:40:48Heh.
00:40:49Having the foggiest.
00:40:50Spooky, though, isn't it?
00:40:51You know, we were never actually ordered to stay aboard.
00:40:53And Mr. Driscoll always says, if nobody gives you an order, just pitch in wherever you can.
00:40:58Yep.
00:40:59That's what we're doing.
00:41:00Pitching in.
00:41:01Come on.
00:41:02Come on, men.
00:41:03Onward and...
00:41:04Come on, guys.
00:41:05Pick it up.
00:41:06Right behind you.
00:41:07Oh, no.
00:41:08Oh, chap.
00:41:09Oh.
00:41:12Oh, chap.
00:41:27Oh, no. Oh, no.
00:41:29Old chap.
00:41:57Oh, no.
00:42:27Look out! Here they come!
00:42:48He's got her!
00:42:49No, no, too risky. If you don't kill her, the fall will.
00:42:54You've got to do something.
00:42:56Why? Hey, there's warm air blowing through this tunnel.
00:42:59Markable, I agree. But please, some other time perhaps.
00:43:03That means this passage leads to the inside of the volcano.
00:43:06You stay after him. Keep that gorilla in sight, all right?
00:43:09Ah, shouldn't be difficult.
00:43:11I'm going to try to head him off.
00:43:13Well, if you're going to ambush a 60-foot gorilla, you might want a couple of these.
00:43:17Gas balls.
00:43:21Good hunting, old chap!
00:43:23Hop to it, lads. Follow me.
00:43:30Skye!
00:43:31Skye!
00:43:41Huh? What?

00:47:23Telly-ho!
00:47:43Ah, there you are, Ruska.
00:47:47Ready where you are, CB.
00:47:53Hey, look, it's Mr. Denim and Ruska.
00:47:58Can you walk, Mr. Denim?
00:48:00Afraid not, lad. You take your pal and save yourselves.
00:48:04Take Ruska with you.
00:48:05But I can't leave you, CB.
00:48:08You must, lad.
00:48:10This is between me and Kong.
00:48:13Captain Ahab and Moby Dick.
00:48:16It is our destiny.
00:48:18Oh, that's very good, CB.
00:48:20What about all those gas bonds?
00:48:22Bad luck, lad.
00:48:23Butterfingers that I am, I dropped the blasted things.
00:48:26Half up.
00:48:27Oh?
00:48:28I left some of them in the longboat.
00:48:30All right.
00:48:32Now, if we can only find the beach.
00:48:35No problem there.
00:48:36Off to the beach.
00:48:37Come on, Chips. Let's go.
00:48:46There they are.
00:48:47All right, then.
00:48:48Man the boards.
00:48:49Where's Denim?
00:48:50He's not with you.
00:48:51Push off shore a bit and signal the Queen to get up steam.
00:48:53Get a crate of those gas bombs.
00:48:54Hey, Captain!
00:48:55Captain!
00:48:56Hey, what are you two doing ashore?
00:48:57Get back to the ship.
00:48:58But Mr. Denim...
00:48:59You know where he is?
00:49:00Yeah, I'll show you.
00:49:01No, Ricky, you go to the boat.
00:49:02The monkey will show me the way. Come on, Chips.
00:49:03He don't work without me, Mr. Driscoll.
00:49:04Well, okay. Get moving.
00:49:05So it's you, is it?
00:49:06Oh, no.
00:49:07It's not with you.
00:49:08It's not with you.
00:49:09It's not with you.

00:49:16Captain!
00:49:17Captain!
00:49:18Hey, what are you two doing ashore?
00:49:19Get back to the ship.
00:49:20But Mr. Denim, uh...
00:49:21You know where he is?
00:49:22Yeah, I'll show you.
00:49:23Ah!
00:49:28So it's you, is it?
00:49:30Well, I certainly don't care for your attitude.
00:49:36Make a note of that, Roscoe.
00:49:38No.
00:49:53What?
00:50:10There it is.
00:50:11The biggest, the fiercest, the greatest beast on Earth.
00:50:16And we've got him, Japs.
00:50:18We've got him!
00:50:19You mean he hasn't got us?

00:50:43Captain!
00:50:44Surely you don't intend to just leave him?
00:50:46What do you want me to do?
00:50:48Hold his hand?
00:50:49All of you, back of the ship!
00:50:51Captain!
00:50:52Be reasonable!
00:50:53There is nothing I can or care to do!
00:50:58Captain, please!
00:51:00There ought to be something, Captain.
00:51:02What?
00:51:03Hmm, perhaps I might make a suggestion.
00:51:06You're on the air.
00:51:07Good evening, Mr. and Mrs. America and all the ships at sea.
00:51:13Let's go to press.
00:51:14Dateline, New York City.
00:51:15What Broadway producer sold out opening night without revealing one word about his new show?
00:51:20An import from the South Seas yet?
00:51:22Open letter to CB Denham.
00:51:23This better be big!
00:51:25He's the biggest beast on Earth, the eighth wonder of the world.
00:51:26CB Denham's terrifying, mystifying, long dividing call.
00:51:28Nature's greatest mystery, safely in captivity.
00:51:30CB Denham's terrifying, mystifying, long dividing call.
00:51:32He found him on a forgotten owl where dinosaurs survived.
00:51:39Then what did he do for me and you?
00:51:41He brought Kong back their life.
00:51:42He's the biggest beast on Earth, the eighth wonder of the world.
00:51:45CB Denham's terrifying, mystifying, long dividing call.
00:51:47He found him on a forgotten owl where dinosaurs survived.
00:51:51He found him on a forgotten owl where dinosaurs survived.
00:51:56Then what did he do for me and you?
00:51:59He brought Kong back their life.
00:52:02Brought Kong back alive.
00:52:07What a show, man, what a show.
00:52:12A little thrill you'll never know.
00:52:16CB Denham's terrifying, mystifying,
00:52:20calling, mystifying, calling, the mighty call.
00:52:50Kip-a-la-la-kim-ba, kip-a-la-la-ga.
00:52:53Sim-a-la-la-sim-a, sim-a-la-la-sa.
00:52:56Kala-wala-ung-da, kala-wala-ung-da, kala-wala-ung-da.
00:53:07So, look, every critic in the country is here.
00:53:10Photographers?
00:53:11Oh, yeah, by the dozen.
00:53:13I brought them in the first two rows.
00:53:21Oh, mark of the wild,
00:53:24a bird of nature's child,
00:53:28born in history,
00:53:33with no history.
00:53:35I hate this.
00:54:03To see that great wild creature chained up like a mad dog.
00:54:08I know how the big fella feels.
00:54:11This entourage business is tougher than I thought.
00:54:17Ah, old man, a bit edgy, are we?
00:54:20I say, Anne, darling, didn't I say you'd be a star?
00:54:23And do be a saint and stand where the big fellow can see you.
00:54:26There's a good girl.
00:54:28I've got a really bad feeling about this, CB.
00:54:31Well, that's true you have, my dear.
00:54:33What's an opening night without jitters?
00:54:35This poor animal is just not meant to be in chains.
00:54:38Of course he's not. None of us are.
00:54:41But don't you see he's a trooper? Just like you and me.
00:54:44And it's not as though he's just working for bananas alone.
00:54:48I've got my eye on a thousand acres spread for him in South Jersey.
00:54:52Oh, no. He can't survive in Jersey. Nobody can.
00:54:56Hmm, well, you're absolutely right. We'll work something out.
00:55:01Uh, must run. Oh, and, uh, break a leg.
00:55:05Thank you, ladies and gentlemen, and welcome.
00:55:09Tonight I am taking you on a journey.
00:55:11A journey deep into the uncharted waters of the South Pacific.
00:55:15From there we will travel backwards in time.
00:55:18Over 50 million years into the past.
00:55:22Ladies and gentlemen, allow me to present the eighth wonder of the world.
00:55:27The one, the only, the mighty Carl!
00:55:36Um, uh, uh, keep your seats, keep your seats, please.
00:55:40Those chains were called a battleship.
00:55:43And now, gentlemen of the press, you may get your pictures.
00:55:51Uh, uh, uh, uh, hold on there.
00:55:53Uh, stop, please.
00:55:57Uh, uh, and, and, ladies and gentlemen,
00:56:02may I present the lovely Miss Anne Madano.
00:56:08The one person, more than any other,
00:56:11responsible for the mighty Carl being on this stage tonight.
00:56:18Oh, great. I really needed that.
00:56:21I wasn't feeling guilty enough.
00:56:23Indeed, it was her extraordinary beauty
00:56:26that lured this magnificent beast
00:56:28down from his mountain lair.
00:56:30Even now he cannot take his eyes off her.
00:56:39What?
00:56:40Ugh.
00:56:41I'm so sorry.
00:56:47Ha-ha! See, Phil?
00:56:49Eat your heart out!
00:56:51Ha-ha-ha!
00:57:01Stop!
00:57:02He thinks Anne is in danger!
00:57:04Move on!
00:57:05Stop!
00:57:11No!
00:57:12Enough, I say!
00:57:13Stop!
00:57:25Stop!
00:57:30I'm warning you!
00:57:32Yikes!
00:57:36And done it.
00:57:37You'll never work in this town again.
00:57:51Hello, Central!
00:57:52Get me to 47th Precinct!
00:57:53I'm quick!
00:57:55Jack, they'll kill him!
00:57:56The best thing we can do is get to the hotel
00:57:58and stay out of sight.
00:58:00Not a moment to lose, Sergeant.
00:58:01And we're going to need reinforcements.
00:58:03The army?
00:58:04Air support?
00:58:05Whoa, now!
00:58:06Hold your horses, pal!
00:58:08Now what seems to be the disturbance here?
00:58:10Disturbance?
00:58:11It can't, man, if that gorilla breaks out of the...
00:58:14Clancy!
00:58:15Get the crowd back!
00:58:19You're back up a ways, Mac!
00:58:21I've been running gorillas out of this town
00:58:24since Al Capone was in knee pants!
00:58:26Now stand back with the crowd!
00:58:28But, Sergeant...
00:58:29Clancy!
00:58:30But...
