Srinagar (J&K), June 11, 2025 (ANI): To promote the tourism and showcase the scenic beauty of Kashmir, Education Minister Sakina Itoo flagged off a unique Shikara race organized by Aryans Groups of College on the iconic Dal Lake in Srinagar on June 11. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and was aimed at fostering cultural awareness, encouraging youth engagements and attracting tourists to the Valley. The colorful Shikaras adorned with traditional Kashmiri decorations, sailed gracefully across the sparkling waters of Dal Lake as students competed in friendly yet spirited races. The event was not only a celebration of Kashmir’s heritage but also a strategic initiative to blend education with tourism promotion. This event is a beautiful example of how our youth can actively contribute to the promotion of local culture and tourism. Such activities are essential in restoring confidence in Kashmir as a peaceful and vibrant travel destination.
