Gillian Osgerby, Interim Assistant Director for Major Projects and Infrastructure at Hull City Council talks about the new North End Shipyard, Hull and the new home for the Arctic Corsair.
Transcript
00:00I'm Jill Osgoby, I'm the Programme Director for Hull Maritime, and we're here today to tell you about the new visitor attraction that we're developing at the North End Shipyard.
00:10So we're currently stood in the Visitor Orientation Centre, which has been developed to Passive House Standard, which is zero carbon visitor centre, the first of its kind in the UK.
00:20And then next to us is the dry dock, which will be the new home of the Arctic Corsair.
00:24So it's a special day to be able to tell everybody that, you know, we're working on this project, it's really exciting, new visitor attraction for Hull, but also really improving the experience for visitors when they board the Arctic Corsair, in terms of this increased access in terms of the number of days a week that the attraction will be open compared to what it once was.
00:46But also some amazing new experiences, including access to the fish hold, especially for those with disabled users that wasn't capable or able before, and also lots of stories and tales of what life was like on board the ship itself.
01:02So we're working towards opening this visitor attraction in autumn next year.
