00:05for part of the city's downtown after several nights of violence.
00:08According to the city official, the curfew will be in effect from 8 p.m. Tuesday to 6
00:13a.m. Wednesday and may continue for several days.
00:16The curfew does not apply to residents and people who work in the area.
00:20The order comes after a weekend of protests that turn violent in the downtown L.A. area.
00:26On Monday, largely peaceful protests during the day were followed by a night of looting and vandalism.
00:32Bass said a curfew had been considered for several days but was deemed necessary
00:37after 23 businesses were looted or vandalized on the night.
