New Delhi, June 11 2025 (ANI): Gauri Khan is one of the leading interior designers in India. In a career spanning over 13 years, she has curated unique and aesthetically pleasing spaces for many clients, including Karan Johar's penthouse terrace, Falguni and Shane Peacock’s stores and Ananya Panday's first home in Mumbai.Gauri's journey in this creative field began with renovating her own home, Mannat, where she discovered her passion for transforming spaces and giving them a beautiful touch. And since then, she has been winning hearts with her design prowess.Many aspiring designers look up to her as an inspiration. Interestingly, for them, Gauri shared valuable advice in an interview with ANI.
00:00Do you feel nostalgic whenever you come to Delhi, any special Delhi memory you have?
00:04Well, Delhi is a city where I've spent my childhood, while Bombay is the place where Gauri Khan Designs was born.
00:10So both cities are equally important for me.
00:14Speaking of the Experience Centre, what was your vision behind creating this Experience Centre?
00:19Well, the idea was to create something immersive.
00:21I wanted to feel like a home where you can have a walkthrough and, you know, touch and feel
00:27and have an experience of Gauri Khan Designs.
00:30Every piece, every corner is designed to spark emotion and inspire imagination.
00:36According to you, what are the main highlights of the Centre?
00:39The Lifestyle Zones really stand out as they allow one to see how the pieces fit into the real setting.
00:45And it's not just about showcasing furniture, it's also about creating stories through the space.
00:52Especially our customised furniture, it brings in freedom to co-create with clients.
00:57Also Gauri, you know, design can mean many things to many people.
01:01What does it mean personally to you?
01:03Well, design should reflect who you are and evolve with you over time.
01:09And as a designer, what is the most important thing that crosses your mind before starting any project?
01:15I would say the first thing is understanding what the client needs, client's story, their lifestyle.
01:22I think every project needs to feel authentic, you know, you need to have people who will live in and to see how they want to live in a good life.
01:32Well, every project needs to feel authentic to the people who will live in.
01:36Also, any tips you would like to share for budding designers?
01:40Be true to your instincts and don't get lost in dreads.
01:44Good design is timeless and your individuality is your biggest strength.
01:49Absolutely.
01:50And what's the idea behind Eminent collab?
01:53Can you share the details about design aesthetics?
01:55I think lighting brings in sculptural elegance, drama to a space.
02:00It aligns with, you know, beautiful spaces, with my design sensibility.
02:05Eminent lights elevate the atmosphere without overpowering it.
02:09This collaboration felt like a very natural extension of my design language.
