01:50Across town, the Museum of Hamid Olimjan and Zulfir

01:53celebrates one of the region's most beloved couples.

01:57Both famous writers, Zulfir and Hamid, had Uzbekistan's romance of the century

02:04until it was cut short by Hamid's untimely demise in a car accident aged just 35.

02:10Zulfir lived until she was 81 and became one of the country's most decorated literary voices,

02:16receiving state medals for her work.

02:19A scenic two-hour drive from Jizak city centre, Zaman is a breath of fresh air, quite literally,

02:26with its purifying juniper forests and cool microclimate.

02:30The star attraction here is Zaman National Park,

02:34spanning more than 26,000 hectares of forested mountains and alpine meadows.

02:41It's a sanctuary for rare wildlife and for travellers like me, seeking tranquility and just a little bit of adventure.

02:49The park's ziplines and bungee jump offer a pure shot of adrenaline,

02:54allowing riders to fly through the valley like birds.

02:58Alongside them, the 305-metre long and 150-metre high suspension bridge

03:03makes those who cross her to feel like they are walking on air.

03:08Another way to get a bird's-eye view of the landscape is from a cable car

03:12gliding above the park's peaks and waterfalls.

03:15And when you get to the top of the cable car station,

03:19be sure to stop and pick up some kert.

03:21This is a local delicacy made with dried cottage cheese.

03:26After an invigorating hike,

03:40visitors can take the weight off their feet at a local luxury retreat.
