00:13as employers faced surging staff costs, according to official figures.

00:18The rate of unemployment jumped to 4.6% in the three months to April,

00:25up from 4.5% in the three months to March.

00:30It's the highest level since the three months to July 2021.

00:35The figures also showed vacancies fell by 63,000 to 736,000 in the three months to May.
